Hi Daisy - further to last Hobonichi Day's livestream when you guys were coming up with as many uses for pencil boards as you could think of, mine also saves my hand when I get near the edge of my page. When I'm getting near the edge either at the side or the bottom, I pull it out an inch or so for support and then I don't feel the hard edge of my notebook and can easily write in the full space. So you can add that to your list too. Lovely as always! Best!

thanks for explaining the pen loop(s)….it took me a little while to figure them out on the Hobonichi Techo. And of course, I need matching pen loops for my Traveler’s notebooks that magnetic TSL is very handy. The embroidered book marks are beautiful. I just started using pencil boards this year; very helpful and a pretty addition. I started to use a Dr. Grip 4 (colors) &1 (a pencil)!!!! It even has an eraser!!!! It’s great for traveling!

I love stickers and washi tape in my planner. But the thing that gets the most use (after the pencil board and cover) would be my multi pens. I switch between a zebra calm for work and a pilot hi- tec coleto in my personal planner. I really wish Zebra would come out with more ink colors in the calm line 😍

This was a great video! Please consider making this a series. I think seeing the different options for these tools can spark so many ideas for my planner and for gifts for planner friends.

In this video Daisy has her personal Take a Note work planner, but I think the Cousin is not hers, just a blank demo copy from the store

Hi Jada!! Lynette is right! I just grabbed a Cousin as a sample since I am using the A6 techo planner for personal journaling this year so it doesn't make it in to work with me as often

I like how I always knew how the hobonichi pen loops are supposed to be, but I used them separately anyway cause I needed multiple pens at all times. Oof xD
I personally do use all of these, especially since my main book was a cousin. Had the cover on cover as well. Bookmark was definitely something I super needed tho. I had used a shitajiki as one for so long, but since I left it UNDER the page I needed to write on, it never actually took me to the page. So I ended up using a normal post it to mark that haha

The Traveler's Company pencil board has a grid on the backside, which is great as a writing guide for the blank insert. I also use the grid insert for my DIY planner/bullet journal, so I make my pencil board double as a monthly calendar template by placing dark thin (7mm) washi tape across the horizontal lines that I use for my vertical spacing. I added strips in a second color for the spacing I use when a month spans 6 weeks. I also divided the top and bottom lines into 4 (days of week columns) by alternating dark/light colored washi, to deal with the midweek cutoffs.
It's a lot, but now I can whip up a calendar in minutes, all without counting out any spacing. 🤓

Heh, I think your top 5 is actually a top 6, but who's counting! 😊 I use all 6 of these items for my planner and yes indeed they are great. I love Hightide Landscape index tabs for how low profile they are. Switched it up and used the Hobonichi brand tabs (with an A6 Hobonichi Techo) in 2023 and felt they stuck out too far. So back to Hightide in 2024.

Hahah you caught me!!!! Number one was technically cover with pen loop but I just gave some pen loop recommendations in case people needed them separately so I found a loophole for the sixth! Love that insight about the hobonichi index tabs popping out a bit too much and I did think that while I was putting them on!

It was designed and gifted to us by our friend @ameruu for the year of the dragon!
We included some in orders earlier this year and have a few left. You can leave us a note to ask for one in your next online order from us!
