I like how you show it's okay to move between physical, ebook, and audio all for the same book. It's great to see how we can read while being productive. Great job showing that. Also, can't wait to start Apprentice to the Villian!
yesss i'm actually obsessed with having all three forms of every book I read haha been using my library a lot for ebooks and audiobooks if they're not available on kindle or spotify.
Atomic habits is one of the best nonfiction or general fiction books I have read. That is not my typical genre and I was able to fly through it, and it actually helped me a lot!! I took so many notes and highlighted so many things !!! I honestly would recommend it !!!
From the list of horror books, I'd definitely recommend Our Wives Under the Sea and Bunny! Neither of them are too scary so they're a good intro to the genre. (Cackle by Rachel Harrison isn't on the list, but if you want to start reading horror that's IMO the best place to start because it's mostly just cozy and a little weird with only a couple of scary scenes.)
@ like…i’m a mystery thriller stan…like all the books i read r mystery thrillers…and i’m into fast paced books…u get the taste right? so like…will i like it??
@ It's fairly fast-paced but definitely not a mystery thriller. If you're open to branching out to other genres I would recommend it, but if you'd prefer to stick to what you know you like, I don't think Bunny fits that. Hope that helps!
I realized you are my #1 booktuber!!! 🩷 I love so much your videos, you are so kind and your channel is kind of my "comfort place" on youtube, with Ashlynn's channel. Thank you for your content & creativity Ali!🥹🩷 PS: I live in Quebec city, so the fact that you went on vacation here is so nice hihi!!!
i cannot wait for you to read The Unmaking of June Farrow, it was the beest book i read in 2024. I think you will love it, I think it has similar themes to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
I need to know your thoughts on from blood and ash/flesh and fire series. The reading order is a bit complicated but the way the two series interconnect is so interesting!
Your sweaters are so classically you that I look forward to seeing which one will show up next 😂❤ I hadn’t heard of the memoir before but the other 2 have definitely been on my tbr so I’m glad you liked them
I started listening to instrumental playlists that fit the vibe of the book, just as you have in a lot of your videos, and it’s been great!! i’m currently reading arch-enemies, the second book in the renegades series by marissa meyer, which is about superheroes so i’ve been doing a action-movie playlist 😂
I am currently reading Crown of Midnight and would love if you did a dedicated video to CC! I can't wait to make it through all of Sarah J Maas books, they have been so good so far and I'm loving being in her world and I am so excited for the next and upcoming ACOTAR book.
Hey Ali, If you're looking for a good page turning thriller then you absolutely have to read "Kill For Me, Kill For You" by Steve Cavanagh. You will not be able to put it down, all I will say is that it is a fantastic twist on the strangers on a train trope and if you read and like that then you might like Steve's main series about a con man turned lawyer Eddie Flynn.
I’m so glad you read assistant to the villain! I read the first two last year and loved them so much! The first one I gave 4.5 stars but the second one I gave 5 stars. I’m really glad you like it and hope you read Apprentice to the villain soon!
I’ve read 50 of the most popular books from that list! I liked most of them but the ones I think are overhyped were Lessons in Chemistry, The Midnight Library, Circe, The Seven Year Slip, and Powerless (sorry 😬😂). I loved Tomorrow x3 so we’re even haha. I really enjoyed June Farrow and Crescent City and hope you will too!
I loved assistant to the villain but I also am a massive princess bride fan! Tress of the emerald sea by Brandon Sanderson also gives massive PB vibes!
If you want some horror to get into I recommend: House of Ash and Bone by Joel A. Sutherland. It is a YA horror book so a good intro. Any T. Kingfisher horror but mostly A house of good bones and What Moves the Dead. I also think Dead Silence and Ghost Station by S. A. Barnes would be good becuse it is horror and sci-fi mixed together.
Ahh your comment is inspiring me to read it soon! I feel like I'm going to love it but I'm also intimidated by it because it sounds very different from what I typically read
Hey Ali! Have you read The Wicked Years series! I am on Book 3 out of 4 and it is so good! If you love The Wizard of Oz! Definitely recommend reading this and seeing the new movie Wicked! 📚❤️
This video is a game-changer! So much helpful information packed into one clip. I personally don't like promoting anything in comments, but I simply have to share with you a book called The Gilded Nexus of Prosperity, that book changed my approach to money, the methods in that book are impressive
I downloaded that book yesterday, and after five minutes of reading, I had to take a shower because my mind was blown away.. It's terrible how the elite are hiding the truth from us about gaining wealth
Assistant to the villain was my favourite read last year, it was so refreshing to me, it got me tangled vibes and the Villain is just the most precious imo 🥹 I feel like I haven't read anything like it and it was just chef's kiss.
ever feel like you’re the one no one notices, no matter what you do? i’ve been there. i tried all the advice out there, but nothing stuck until i read Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki. the insights in chapter 3 blew my mind-it taught me how to let my energy do the talking before i even say a word.
i was just like you, wondering why some people effortlessly draw attention while i felt invisible. nothing i tried seemed to work. then i came across Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it completely shifted my perspective. the way chapter 3 explains energy and presence? it’s like unlocking the secret to being noticed.
I bought the physical copy for Assistant to the villain with the idea of switching between audiobook and physical copy. I just can not listen to te narrator of the audiobook, it's so bad. Did you like the audiobook?
for the longest time, i thought being magnetic was something you either had or didn’t. i used to watch others shine while i felt stuck. then i found Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it made me realize it’s all about the vibe you give off. chapter 3 especially changed the way i carry myself-it’s such a powerful shift.
First Lie and Down The Drain were both very interesting! I love doing BookTube! I'm a long way from monetized, 100 out of 500 subscribers but I'm having so much fun! 🤩🤩 I have a long way to go to reach 3,000 watch hours! 😂
been there, feeling like no matter how hard i tried, i just didn’t stand out. then i picked up Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and honestly, it changed everything. chapter 3 opened my eyes to how energy works-it’s not about effort, it’s about alignment. people started noticing me in ways they never had before.

I would love a crescent city video. It’s on my 2025 tbr and I would love to hear your perspective. 😊
Why did I think you said credence and I was like 'no'
One of my favorite ebooks of all time was the 10 mysteries to getting a man by synfla, it helped me get myself a great husband!!!
AHH i'm glad you liked assistant to the villain!!! I agree the plot definitely got a little slow in the middle😂

@@Nvts-ic4ix I loved it! It's weird and disorienting, but IMO in a good way, and it's a fun satire of academia as well

I need to know your thoughts on from blood and ash/flesh and fire series. The reading order is a bit complicated but the way the two series interconnect is so interesting!
Ooo wait that could be a great series to read for a dedicated book series video. Ty for the suggestion!!✍🏻!✍🏻
@@JustAli YES!! I freaking love FBAA. Hawke is my everything ❤
I didn’t know that you did your thumbnail text by hand! that’s so cool, makes me love them even more lol 💗

I loveee that you started doing it too haha literally makes me feel like I'm in a movie. Its the best
@ ikr!
You should definitely read the Maid. There's a cute romance subplot (picks up more in the second book!) and the book as a whole is so fun
HIGHLY recommend The Unmaking of June Farrow! One of my first reads of 2025 and a new all-time favorite, definitely worth the hype 🎉
I am currently reading Crown of Midnight and would love if you did a dedicated video to CC! I can't wait to make it through all of Sarah J Maas books, they have been so good so far and I'm loving being in her world and I am so excited for the next and upcoming ACOTAR book.
I can believe she haven’t read the secrets history!! It such a vibe and the character development is amazing!
You NEED to read this book asap! 🤩🤩🤩

I love the crecent city series! I recently got two tattoos from the books😍 in love with them😩
It’s my birthday so I’m taking this video as a bday present. Thanks Ali!!❤

The Secret History was my favorite read from last year!
If u love powerless i highly recommend u read red queen if u haven’t already. It is an amazing book that I couldn’t put down!!
Assistant to the villain was my favourite read last year, it was so refreshing to me, it got me tangled vibes and the Villain is just the most precious imo 🥹 I feel like I haven't read anything like it and it was just chef's kiss.
The assistant to the villain pushed over my chunky book stack, now I'm trapped in my apartment.😊

Crescent city video for the win!!

I can't imagine how readers can read hundreds of books in a year without falling into a deep slump like me
I do it by mixing medias (audio, ebook, physical, etc), but also by breaking it up with graphic novels and manga here and there. 😊
need some recs Thriller with romance as a subplot
i’ve heard catherine cowles is good for that :)
literary fiction with a romance subplot recs please!!
You inspired me to make a booktube esque channel for movie buffs!
NEW ALI VID
To me First Lie Wins is over-hyped BUT mystery/thriller is my most read genre so that may be why.
I bought the physical copy for Assistant to the villain with the idea of switching between audiobook and physical copy. I just can not listen to te narrator of the audiobook, it's so bad. Did you like the audiobook?
Opening with a lie, is a new idiom in relationship lore.
What do you listen to audio books on? Everything audio is so expensive.
Still waiting for you to reading binding 13/ the Boys of tommen
omg I can't believe i'm this early! im gonna watch the video now (:
