    This is great but what do you do when you are having short cycle and have no clue what the pump is rated for or expecting?

    Do you leave the valve open that you drained the pressure out of the system from while you fill the bladder? Does it matter?

  • @HarleyFXS
    @HarleyFXS 6 лет назад +1

    If the bladder is ruptured, can it still be pressurized by this method? I think years ago, there was no bladder in them, I remember when I was a kid, pumping the tank for the old man.

    Hi my pressure tank is like the one in your video I can't push the gage in to read pressure ?? Its full of water.

I turned it off put hose back on then turned every thing back on I did get water but it was low and had has lots of air in it ..I had left the water on in garden when this first happened that's when I realized no water
    I ran to well and that hose was off
    It has not come off again. Just no water but pressure tank is full
    I also have storage tank its full
    I turned everything off again.
    Can u help me please

    there is no valve to add air on my fiberglass tank. There is just an open stepped plastic fitting AND a solid brass plug.
    How can I check the pressure?

    I'm unable to drain the water to 0 with a faucet/bathtub on. It drops to 40 then starts filling back up. I don't have a drain either to hook a hose up to. I also have a water softener and iron filter that it runs to before going to the house. Any ideas on how I could drain the tank to check the pressure?

      Don’t forget to turn the power off to the pump. If the power is on, it will fill up the tank.

    Does the pressure guage show pressure tank pressure or pressure from the pump?

    • @michaelrodgers9271
      @michaelrodgers9271 2 года назад +1

      The pressure gauge shows the line pressure/pressure from the pump. You have to use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure on the tank. Start at about 2:20.

    my tank is a pain to check so this is what i do : I time how many second it takes the pump to turn off and on with one faucet open . after 1 year , do it again if is short time , then the tank need air .. please let me know if I am doing it wrong. and why or why not . thanks

    A link to a gauge that works? I have bought 4 different "tire" pressure gauges and none reach the valve core. Thank you

    Once you are back up to pressure should it stay at the high #? I have a 20/40 switch on the pump and the pressure is at 18. It runs to 40, but gradually falls back to 20 over time w/out any faucets being turned on. Shouldn't it stay at 40?

    • @JustinDorseyPlumbing

      Hello, sorry for the late response. Yes the system should hold pressure. If you are loosing pressure w/out faucets being turned on there could be a leak on the check valve of the pump, or on the foot valve if you have a jet pump. You may also want to check your toilets as they often leak water through the fill valve.

    Yea just so you know plumbers are not water well service technicians!
    Just because your tank has 0 psi in a bag tank does not mean your tank is busted!
    There are different types of tanks also, like a hydronumatic standard "Air over water" tank!
    These bag tanks require being aired up every few years, as they leak down like a tire on your car.
    Standard tanks use whats called a air volume control or aerator to inject air in the tank.

      Clear Water Pump & Well LLC. my gauge is reading 90psi and my pump will not shut off.I replaced the pressure switch and its still running at 90psi and still wont shut off.can you help me,

    • @ClearWaterPumpWell
      @ClearWaterPumpWell 7 лет назад

      Keith - Depending on what type of pump you have and were you pressure gauge is located you may not actually have 90 psi in your tank. Do you still have water wile its running? Is the pressure low or normal? Something could be clogged after the pump and or your pressure switch port.
