I'll try to keep it brief since the economy in this game is a mess if you ask me. A couple things that save my early game are as follows: - make sure you're producing everything on your own so you avoid importing (material-wise). So make sure you are exporting wood, stone, wheat, veggies, etc; - feel free to up the taxes early and then gradually work towards lowering them, instead of trying to make your cims happy early game - go WAY easier on your parks early - keep in mind you do not have to have all your services up early, most stuff you can import from other regions (for example I avoid having any waste facilities early as garbage trucks can just come in, and as long as you have a decent road network it should not bother you). Same for healthcare, I would keep it limited to a single small clinic until you have a steady income. - DO NOT produce your own electricity for a while, and once you do start to produce your own, export as much of it as possible - a little cheat I use to make money early are parking lots. Unlock parking, and be tactical with it (basically just don't go overboard so they are always in use), and the number that works best for me is a $20 parking fee. Also, as soon as you have policies unlocked, make sure to charge a parking fee for roads as well and set it to $20. (I've seen people get away with setting this to $50 even) I could go on for days probably but if you fiddle with those above, I think you should be seeing that money in the green very fast, and once you're comfortably making a profit, you can start lowering taxes. Which is, a huge part of the game too. The lesser you tax your people, industry and business, the more profit they make. The more profit they make, the higher the land value is, inviting more demand. More demand means more money, so in a weird way, lowering taxes makes you way more money than upping them. But that I would explore once you have at least a 10k hourly income. When it comes to it, education and transport will be the most important budgets, so make sure you plan ahead as much as possible. And that's the biggest part of the game I can think of, taking stuff slow and planning. Whenever you're in a good spot, make sure to give the simulation some time before you hit the budget with new expansions of any sort. There's so much more to it, but I really do hope this helps out a bit at least!
wow that is incredible thank you so much for taking the time to write that, i will be implementing as much of that as i finacially in game can lol especially on the agriculture parts as fertile land is in short demand but unlocking a single tile i should be fine! but thank you again i really appreciate it! will make sure to give you a shoutout in the next episode!
@@Bearded_Egg_Games Tile upkeep is quite expensive though, so make sure your economy can handle it. I usually don't buy another tile until I have maybe 3000 or so cims.
@@Bearded_Egg_Games You're very welcome. You could also add a bit of fertile land with a mod, if you don't consider that too big of a cop-out. Looking forward to the next one !
