Nothing wrong with Cymatics to be honest , they do have good packs , especially the Advent Calendar every year they release for free , I used a lot of Cymatics drums too
This was the track that introduced me to Eliminate. It was right as I was really getting back into Excision, and this drop just hit me so hard. The main bass is just so brutal. I could totally see this being a super hype opening for a show.
I learned more from watching this video, than that one time earlier when I wasn't doing anything at all. Probably the best music teacher in history. Also those reverse slinky sounds are really what makes these tracks feel like Eliminate tracks.
You’re extremely talented, so I don’t intend this as any slight towards you, however it’s fucking hilarious whenever you’d be like “yeah this is just a virtual riot preset” lmfao It’s like your equivalent of “dress for the job you want”
I already knew BREAKSH!T took tons of work to turn out as an absolute banger, but this gives me newfound appreciation for it. I will now never skip it when it comes on :) well done nathan
THIS was exactly what I was in mood for Nate. Been loving your videos as I learn to produce, and getting to see how you made this one was a treat. Highlight of my day dude, thanks again
This is my favorite song that youve made its so amazing, really nice to see how it was made. Honestly any song you spend a decent amount of time on the choirs, pianos and strings for some reason just enhances the bass drop so much.
Biggest lesson I learned here was organization, I've ruined tracks from automating something important and forgetting about it. And clearly the answer isn't less automation like I thought, that's probably why my stuff sounds forced. Automate everything ever, don't be afraid of an ugly looking file
"Squeezers in to the bonks" is a phrase I will never forget and will totally use anytime somebody asks me about my sound design lmao... with your permission of course??
Love the music nate, but damn dog. gotta organize everything a bit better xD "I Just gotta find where I did the automation" Are there no ways in fruity loops to group your tracks so you have all your shit separated? I'm sure there is. But workflow right? :P Love you bro keep killin it.
This is hilarious. Also up until I watched this video, I thought I had a decent idea of how FL works for an Ableton user… now I realize I have no f’n clue what you’re doing. Those automations are NUTZ.
Finally a breakdown I've been listening to this song long since it was released And still fricken jamming! And in my opinion, BreākCrap & Walk Away are the best track from the EP. And my least favourite is Elevator, I LOVE the second drop (Hybrid Trap), too bad the genre of that song is Bass House.
"when u thought you were king of FL studio but watch Nate for 5 minutes and realize the title has been taken" also a blast watching him do what he loves :)
I always thought, in the intro before the drop, it said “disappointing disappointing disappointing, etc”. Even after hearing the words isolated, I go back and still hear it lol
Hey man I know What I'm asking right now is out of topic but will you please teach us how you mix your tracks so well and how you made them really loud🙏🏼 Your music is so clean and they're real bangers🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"When you walk into a room and there's no music its just silent. The best way to counter that is to play music." - Nathan (Eliminate) Merrill, 2022
also like this "hey you wanna make some dubstep? go twist some knobs"
@@Siedoro and automate them
I will use that line in my next intro 😂
Wisdom of the gods😎
Wait a damn minute- 666 likes.

eliminate: shows breakshit bass patch
everyone: *aggressive note taking*
EVERYONE uses virtual riot presets
@@mashur4880 he legend
@@mashur4880 still, he made pretty significant changes
@@squids24 i can see that with my eyes yes
insane, he barely did any patches himself and yet he still managed to take every sound and make it absolutely unique, thats what i call real talent.
Nah, it just called turning some nobs, and don't talk back to me or I'll turn your nob.
@@deadlyrobot5179 okay I won't talk back to you
@@EntropyMusicOfficial You just did, prepare your nob... you know what? I'll let it slide this time.
Have a nice day.
@@deadlyrobot5179 you'll let it SLIDE eh?
i'll see myself out...
@@deadlyrobot5179 turn my nob instead then...
Most entertaining track breakdown Ive ever seen, I learned nothing, thank you
was fun tho, would go to his lectures again :D
Yep, that's Nate alright and that's why we love him
7:34 "dog poo 1" followed up by "tinnitus packaged up nice and neat" had me laughing so hard
proof that presets in a song don't matter as long as you've got talent
He automated everything lol what about the fx chains too?
2:40 "I want my set intros to be epic, you know?"
Also Nate: *uses cymatics impact #12 on an intro*
Nothing wrong with cymatics impacts 👌
Nothing wrong with Cymatics to be honest , they do have good packs , especially the Advent Calendar every year they release for free , I used a lot of Cymatics drums too
110% of the listeners won't notice that, not even the dud that created the impact.
He actually simultaneously ruined and ascend my perception of this awesome track. Truly genius.
I clicked this video saying "I swear if that lead is a Virtual Riot preset..."
I always thought the production behind this was insane, now we get a looky loo 👀
Thank you for reminding me to use the phrase “looky loo” more often lol
This is what Virtual Riot meant when he yelled "You're all preset junkies" before an epic drop
Bro, Virtual Riot dropped this at Rampage, truly Eliminate's best friend!
he dropeed it again at open air and bootshaus
>listen to eliminate
>look inside the project
>its all virtual riot
This was the track that introduced me to Eliminate. It was right as I was really getting back into Excision, and this drop just hit me so hard. The main bass is just so brutal. I could totally see this being a super hype opening for a show.
lmao excision
@@gabrieldaughton4919 dude super br00tal excision whew
I've already imagined on using this for an opening of my animation stuff, Quite a notch to visualize.
Excisions grown off on me, especially his recent work, not as good as he used to be compared to rising underground artists lately.
I love watching Nate explain his process, the way he says “I just did some shit here idk” really helps me with my music composition
I learned more from watching this video, than that one time earlier when I wasn't doing anything at all. Probably the best music teacher in history.
Also those reverse slinky sounds are really what makes these tracks feel like Eliminate tracks.

"I eliminate them" always sounded like "buy eliminate ham" to me
Valid lyric.
I'm a lemonade stand
Buying ham? With the meat bandits around? Dangerous game.
I lemonade them?
@@ITGAlex oh that's precisely what I heard all this time . I was like why's Virus saying this shit yet it sounds so fucking dope.
"It's like a dog peeing on a tree, and being like this is mine. It's basically me saying this is mine."
Gave a thumb just because of this explanation!
The omnisphere bell preset is called "In Memorium," for anyone interested
Wait, are you telling me Nate actually makes music?!?
Yea innit...wonders never cease
i hope you do more streams like this, it was so much fun to see the production of this song :D
Was just thinking about the sound design in this track
Nice timing, Nate!
"you wanna make dubstep? go twist some knobs"
-based nate
Dude, I cannot thank you enough for making this video! I was too shy to ask for this video, but now I'm just happy! Many thanks!
So you're G?
i dont know how a man can be this funny and this talented at the same time
9:15 after his comment one of the chatters said "genius more like stupid" and idk why that's so funny to me but I've been laughing ever since
THIS was exactly what I was in mood for Nate. Been loving your videos as I learn to produce, and getting to see how you made this one was a treat. Highlight of my day dude, thanks again
I dropped the fuck out of this amazing track mid set on my dream stage and everyone lost their shit. Ty for making this
Thanks for the breakdown! My biggest takeaway from this is, I need to do more layering..
One of my favorite dubstep tracks of all time. The anxiety and anticipation I experienced when he opened with this at Bass Canyon was ridiculous!
This is my favorite song that youve made its so amazing, really nice to see how it was made. Honestly any song you spend a decent amount of time on the choirs, pianos and strings for some reason just enhances the bass drop so much.
man's best song breakdown yes please
The sound design on those growls are from another dimension.

dopeness, always love that first part of the vr preset. 😍👂
Literally breakdown of BREAKSH!T. Amazing.
Bro your videos have me floored 💀 good editing man!
That was super helpful also super funny please do more track breakdowns they are very inspiring
Love the vids Nate! Please do more tutorials like this! I'm learning how to produce and this vid was insanely helpful in so many ways
Your analogies for each sound are perfect. "Like squashing an alien bug" haha
I love this song…and now I know how to make something similar to it…..thank you Nate
That was fire
This is such an amazing track and you did a great breakdown. Both entertaining and educational. Thanks Nate! Keep them comin' please!
Just heard this for the first time tonight. Immhooked youre on another level my brother this is sacred to me my new anthem for real
"Squeezers in to the bonks" is a phrase I will never forget and will totally use anytime somebody asks me about my sound design lmao... with your permission of course??
I think nate just prooved that virtual riot presets are indeed viable

This 100% my favorite song of yours, so hyped for this
Could you please talk about your mixing and mastering as well on your next breakdown?
6:25 this part of the song sounds like cybernetic Scooby Doo laughing
This is so sick! My favorite track from the EP and has a filthy drop. 🤙
ok but how was it not clipping? What god tier mastering chain was he using there wtf

HELL YEAH BEEN WAITING FOR MORE BREAKDOWNS FROM YOU NATE
I feel like every time I watch a video like this I learn producers just kinda wing it until it sounds good and usually it works
I wish I could wing it. When I try winging it, everything sounds like shit.
when winging it, you always learn to wing it better
Sir, how did you make the #1 dubstep song of all time?
Eliminate: I let my cat walk on the keyboard for the automation.
seeing Excision play this at 1stbank on Sunday had me so hyped breakshit is a classic
"stepping on a cockroach in space" - Nathaniel hackerton
this is amazing, please do more!!
21:33 "So hopefully cant really tell" .... 5 seconds before "thats my voice" xD
The gazorp is mega underrated, glad to see another proper gazorpist using their powers for good(?)
Thank you for this! I loved learning from this
Dude imma need this song in I few years ,Gods willing
Thats such a beautiful and badass chord progression also the intro was amaaing i wasnt expecting that
"when u thought you were king of FL studio but watch Nate for 5 minutes and realize the title has been taken" also a blast watching him do what he loves :)
hey nate! please please please could you do a video on mastering music in FL studio (how you approach mastering?)!
Really enjoyed this one. youre legend mannnnn Love from Nepal.
This is actually very informative, thanks
3:47 these drums giving me some 80s vibes by themselves lmao
8:22 my man, i dont care about be latin american, i studied english for 3 years only to hear that and understand
I definitely needed to figure out how to get that tightness, or spegunk in my songs
Comb filter spegunk ftw
THANK YOU NATE!
I always thought, in the intro before the drop, it said “disappointing disappointing disappointing, etc”. Even after hearing the words isolated, I go back and still hear it lol
This was great, thank you so much for sharing!
I wished he would teach dubstep at a university! 😂
14:18 “oh she’s feeling it mr.krabs” 😂😂😂
What a journey, the song and the breakdown itself
When the lyric goes "I eliminate them" I feel that
Hilarious, inspiring and intimidating. Thank you.

I think that intro music box might be the same omnisphere preset that Polyphia used in G.O.A.T
for the love of god please use more of this heavy sound
You have rose my creativity levels to 10,100 percent
I love that he still has the stock kick snare clap hat channels doing nothing
Thank you, Eliminathanial, for breaking down my favorite track from the EP known as Cyber Whale 2.
bruh i shit you not, until watching this video i always thought the vocal sample lyric said "are you ever really done?" LMAO
[Before I watched the video]:
Without a doubt I know he used the vocals of Virus Syndicate from 'Them.'
Edit: 3:00.
I always thought the lyrics were” are you elevated “😂
That drum solo is fire too haha ❤😂
that omnisphere musicbox patch is Memories 1 if I correctly recall
That’s freaky, I was literally bumping this song on repeat this morning and now there’s a vid on it 👀👀
Haha REVERSE SLINKY. And you summoned someone way cooler than that guy. Its good to be back thank you brother cant wait to play this in the benz
@2:55 🤣🤣🤣 I like to build up on it, i like to stand there awkwardly for 2 and minutes 🤣
