  • Arsenal have been getting closer and closer to the Premier league since Mikel Arteta took over in 2019. But ultimately have always come up short. This has been the reality of Arsenal FC, in recent years. How else can one explain that a team has taken the habit of always being very close to winning the league but has never won it since the “Invincibles” in 2004?
We all know about the invincibles and Arsenal's 13th league title.
The year after, Arsenal would later extend the unbeaten run to 49 matches, the longest unbeaten run in English top-flight history and one of the longest in the world. Arsene Winger's Gunners side were on fire during this period, and this led many to think they were going to win the Premier League again in the 2004-2005 season. But to the disappointment of their fans, the Gunners finished the season second on the table again.
The quest to win the league led to the sacking of Unai Emery in 2019, who was replaced by the man in charge now, Mikel Arteta...

Great video thanks. But you're absolutely wrong and one of your facts. You said Havertz' start at Arsenal was "poor." It absolutely was not "poor." He only wasn't scoring goals. You're not remembering his gameplay You're only remembering the tone set by click-thirsty pundits and Chelsea fans at the time (which you yourself called-out in the same segment) His pressing, final and middle third defense, and link up play- all fundamental and non-negotiable in an Arteta system- were EXCELLENT considering he's in a brand new team. We're literally only talking about the first 4 months! He was also immediately good with his dominance in the air on long balls, and is cleverness winning open long balls on the second or third bounce. From the very beginning Kai was hard working and exceedingly intelligent. This is what Arteta wanted above all, and that's what he got. Watch his play now and you can see just how many uses he has for Arteta, and how effective he is at them all... Cheers 🍻

@@user-yw3ky4ju2n Hey, great to hear, thanks! We're peas in a pod then 🍻 I do want to admit that i didn't know what Arteta was doing with Kai at the beginning. Still not totally sure! But anything i've noticed correctly has been purely retrospective.

I'm excited to see what Kai will do this season, and he's still young and can improve. But he isn't anything like RVP, who he's being compared to. RVP's runs, finishing, shot power, shot technique, touch, and dribbling were all elite. This isn't the case for Havertz. Currently he has good runs, work rate/defensive contributions, and is kind of strong I guess. But what skills does he have that you would call elite? Not many right now. RVP at his peak would put fear into defenders, he was so dangerous. Kai doesn't affect people like this yet. I think if Arsenal get a left winger that can do this then Kai is fine, like Firminho at prime Liverpool.

There are Arsenal players who started low scoring then start banging goals. I just dont think Havertz is that guy even though I do think he'll bag 20.

I'm sorry, I don't rate Havertz at all. Even the comparison with RVP is crazy. Havertz was brought in as a midfielder, so he was misprofiled to begin with. We need another striker to give him competition, and Jesus is injured.

@@HorsieWalker RVP undoubtedly had some super goals, but in terms of numbers, at the rate Havertz ended the season with, there is a good chance he will be getting over 20 goals for the Arsenal which will be a good thing, you add the assists to that number.
I was a super fan of RVP at Arsenal, even before he had those two elite seasons so it's not a sleight at his abilities, it's just I find many times Havertz's own abilities are under estimated and it will be a good thing if he proves doubters wrong.
Cheers mate, hopefully the league title will be back to where it should be.

I hope I don't get banned for saying this but Alex Ferguson said it best....13 premier league wins for Manchester United ...Attackers win games but defence wins championship..also, this is the first time in a long that I am going to trust Arteta and Edu for Arsenal transfer market to get us over the line..
