Hey folks, I'm streaming over on Twitch right now with Miwabelle doing a randomized Emerald 2-player nuzlocke, come on by and please help her, she's struggling even with my help lmao www.twitch.tv/chaoticmeatballtv
@@ChaoticMeatballTV you should make a video on that spread sheet hoopla 4:45 use rock Smash at the Ruins of Alph and trade blue shards to the Juggler outside Violet City pokemon center also can win oran berries at the Goldenrod City Department Store on Floor 6
It's refreshing to see a video without setup tactics making the run really difficult. Congrats great run wasn't expecting the win after 22 hp typhlosion at the end. Specially with only 4 non legendary members against red but you did it and I do have to agree with you on moltres not even being necessary
I know it's too late to say this, but for future playthroughs of HGSS, once you beat Falkner you can use Rock Smash on the rocks at the Ruins of Alph and you can get Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow Shards and trade them in for Berries of their corresponding color to an NPC at Violet City. That's the only way you can have early access to Berries in the game. Otherwise you have to wait until after you beat Whitney and clear Sudowoodo to get access to Berries
That intro was.... fire! Also am I the only one who doesn't care that another creator already did the challenge before? Everyone brings a fresh take on their respective runs
Yeah and no disrespect to sylph since i watch his vids myself, but it is refreshing to see a more knowledgeable and skilled player do these challenges. This is the first vid i watched from chaoticmeatball and he provides a ton more insight on strategies and situations in just that one vid.
Congratulations on the featured creator on the Card Party website!!! Keep up the amazing content. I have been a lurker since the generation nuzlocke I started with Johto.
Personally, it never bothers me one bit if someone does the same challenge as someone else. Every run is unique and every person puts their own spin on it! ^_^
I think a Let's go eevee fairy run would be fun. You can trade a vulpix for an alolan one for 4 encounters. I think not enough people nuzlock those games despite them being more difficult than frlg. I think most people write them off because the catching mechanic and overleveling was too easy. I found a new appreciation of those games because of your nuzlocks. Both sun/moon games not having a ground type nuzlock is pretty surprising.
"Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver Hardcore Nuzlocke" I know you love torturing yourself, Chaos, but please, don't forget about the Professor Oak challenges. Those challenges are my favorite Pokemon challenges and I enjoyed all of your Professor Oak videos and would love to see more. :)
not possible, they removed jigglypuff from route 46 in hgss. could work in gs though. jigglypuff - route 46 togepi - violet city snubbull - route 38 marill - mt. mortar clefairy - mt. moon mr. mime - route 21
I will forever be amazed by the amount of PokeTubers that don’t notice they have Diamond Dust when fighting Red. Brother that sunny day was completely unnecessary for avoiding hail it didn’t exist.
I really liked silver/gold/crystal. Probably more nostalgia than anything. I remember playing red every single day so when a new game with new mons came out I was obsessed
4:40 There's actually one early access oran berry in the ruins of alph in the hidden room behind the kabuto puzzle you just need to use the escape rope in front of the entrance
Just letting you know that you CAN have access to berries early on (this was at Bugsy, by the way). You just use an HM Pokemon to spam rock smash on the rocks by ruins of alph and get shards then go to the shard guy in Violet! :)
Congrats on the run! But how is TWO legendaries considered a hardcore nuzlocke? I don’t know if it’s an unspoken rule but I’ve never watched a single Hardcore Nuzlocke that incorporates them, not even ones like Kaizo designed to make the game significantly harder. Also, did you get Entei on a route you hadn’t yet caught a Pokémon on? If not, I would imagine you’re breaking a primary rule of every Nuzlocke unless you’re playing “can catch the legendary anywhere” which really isn’t hardcore if the rule is “can only catch a second Pokémon if it’s one of the best in the game.” And while I understand the BST justification, a legendary is a legendary so caveating that it’s “only” 580 BST and that at least you didn’t use the 680 BST mon doesn’t change the fact that you’re utilizing a tier of Pokémon most HC Nuzlockers stipulate aren’t admissible. And regardless of whether they were used or not, you brought TWO to the final battle. Just because you didn’t use one and “could’ve” switched the other for another Mon doesn’t negate the fact they were brought to the battle. Knowing you have a legendary in the back will impact strategy and gameplay in ways that allow risk taking and strategic changes so whether they were used or not doesn’t negate the fact that their presence alone allows more room for chance and risk. The achievement is fantastic but I do think calling it Hardcore would require an asterisk if you’re bringing legendaries.
Johto/hgss is my fave, hg was the first game i ever bought for myself with pocket money, doing a shiny run rn, Cyndaquil, Abra, Dratini, working on the Eevee from Bill and a Totodile on my soul silver
Have you seen the Pokemon item randomiser? Along with randomising wild encounters and movesets, they randomise the item placements so you can end up completing the game in different order to normal. I've tried it with pokemon crystal and it's good fun.
Here's a dumb idea: Hardcore Nuzlocke with only bird Pokemon. A majority of them would obviously be flying and/or water, but there are some of other types (such as the fire/fighting Blaziken).
"I'M GONNA BE ATTEMPTING TO COMMIT ARSON-" *Goes into the actual intro* Probably for the best, I've seen horror stories of runners not getting the insurance money, and instead of just resetting they get a permanent ban from society. Not worth it bro.
Looking at the runs at the end I was surprised that fr/lg didn’t have a ghost run completed but than I remembered that the only ghost line in them pre E4 is Ghastly. Wouldn’t mind seeing if an ice type only run on PLA is doable or not tho think only glaceon would be available until the last zone. Wish ice types were more common/ earlier to find in games
@ChaoticMeatballTV that's fair. If I did as many of these challenges as you I probably wouldn't want to touch pokemon with a ten foot pole, lol. I still love the games and enjoy going though gen 8 and 9 due to how breezy it is. I'm not really much of an RPG guy outside of pokemon, the only exceptions being the various Mario RPGs and Persona 5 Royal (such a fun game). Other than those, I mainly stick to platformers. I remember hearing you say something about another channel for non-pokemon games and I'd personally LOVE to see you tackle games you love.
Just a question about that chart, why are fire water and grass considered impossible in g/s even though they were completed in crystal? Is there that big of a difference before the first gym?
Wait, but thunder fang is a level 1 learn move for arcanine. So couldn't you just use the move relearner for that and still get it. Even if its after the league? 9:25
I’d prefer a compilation video of the gen 1 & 2 games. I have nostalgia for them, but visually they aren’t as entertaining as the Gen 3-9 games. I love HGSS for the nostalgia & shiny Pokémon following you & sprites, but I agree that the level curve, Movesets, etc in Johto aren’t good.
Do a nuzlock but you can only use pokemon with one type ie you could use charmander and charmilion but not charzard as he's a double type or you couldn't use oddish or gloomy but you could use blossom since it's pure grass were its previous evos are grass poison
I tried a Monolocke fairy on let's go Eevee and I faced a double battle with Jessie and James. I did allow any other type set up to mont moon. I didn't allow myself Magikarp and Calfairy is weak to Prison and I cannot progress unless I do an unavoidable double battle...

Do a Pokémon scarlet and violet Nuzzlocks with only wild Tera Pokémon
Honestly that's a great way to Nuzlocke those games. I'm gonna need to try it
Except I am fairly sure they are static encounters so there isn't variations
I did a nuzlocke but only Tera Raid Encounters which was super interesting because of the Randomness

You should do a nuzlocke in one of the games before the fairy type with only Pokémon that became fairy type later down the line.
So basically any that had their type changed
