  • This is the first time I have ever raced. I have only had the bike long enough to do the first oil change. I wanted to have some fun and see where my skills were at riding. It is definitely apparent that I need more seat time. One race in my pocket, many more to come. If you see my little bike at the NCHSA races, come on over and say hello.

You made my day. I have a crf250f and I would love to have races like that in my area, they look so fun. Good job on your race too. The difference between the first two laps and the last are pretty impressive. Keep it up, looks like you are having fun too!!!

Thanks for the comments. I still have a long way to go to improve my riding skills, but it is always a blast.

Enjoyed the vid. Been waiting on someone to do some races on the 250f. I don't own one but seem to be very under rated. Seem like they are the modern equivelant of the old xrs

Thanks for the comment. The bike held its own pretty well. I was going to race the NCHSA Flat Rock race this past weekend, but unfortunately it was canceled.

This is awesome man, great job on the race and on the video. I am also about to enter my first ever hare scramble in Virginia on my crf250f! This definitely makes it look like a lot of fun

Where are you out of? I've also been toying with the idea if entering a hare scramble on my 2021 CRF250F... I'm in Frederick County VA.

I have been looking at the cfr 250f. I have a KTM that blew up on me. Been in shop for repairs for almost six months waiting on parts. I am brand new to dirt bikes. I don't like the idea of having to rebuild them as often as they require. The bike had 145 hours on it. I only rode it 90 minutes and it froze up. If I had to do it over I would have gotten something like a cfr 250f. I am not interested in racing. Just interested in trails and easy ones at least at first. I don't need a high performance engine. The KTM does have better suspension but I haven't rode it enough to know the difference. A bike like 250f is cheaper and doesn't require the maintenance a high performance dirt bike requires. If I get another 145 hours of service without it blowing up then I guess I am good. But I can't help thinking for what I want to do going with the 250f would have been the way to go for me.

Sounds like the crf250f would be perfect for you. I own one as well and it's great for cruising but you can also romp it pretty good when you want to.

Sounds like you were sold a lemon. From what you want out of a bike it sounds like the 250f would be a good fit.

yeah the valves have to be checked every 40 hours or so and ajusted as needed. if not the valves brake off and jam the piston. I've had a 230f for 12 years about I'm about to get the 250rx checking the valves isn't hard. just annoying for a much better bike.

Gotta start somewhere, stand up when you can, look forward where you want to go not down at the front fender. My 1st race was a disaster, so seeing this vid, not bad at all

I doubt I will see a podium finish on it, but the bike is amazing for trails. She goes up hills like tractor. Only thing I don't like is the occasional false neutral that happens when shifting. Other than that, she's an awesome bike.

    Are you running stock suspension?

    • @jeremylanders9425

Other than the $25 amazon hand guards, the bike is completely stock. It only had around 6 hours on it at the time of the video. After the race I did change the hand grips to protaper pillow tops.

@@jeremylanders9425 damn! You did pretty good on a stock bike. That little Crf250f sure can hang with the big boys.

why do they give dirtbikes so much power but such skinny tires? those people at the beginning almost lost it when they gave it gas and spun out.
