This is my 2nd Hare Scramble race. I do stop and let riders around me on this race but it was definitely great practice. Hopefully I do better on the next race.
1st Hare scramble/ NCHSA Lost Valley 3-14-21/ 2021 CRF250F

This is the first time I have ever raced. I have only had the bike long enough to do the first oil change. I wanted to have some fun and see where my skills were at riding. It is definitely apparent that I need more seat time. One race in my pocket, many more to come. If you see my little bike at the NCHSA races, come on over and say hello.

    LoL, your little bike reminds me of my XR75, can do anything the big boys can but just a little slower and often alot of work but never failed me, this was back in the seventies.

    man I'm thinking about getting a crf250f I think it has enough power for this type of competition or what do you think ?

    • @jeremylanders9425
      @jeremylanders9425 Год назад

      For what it is, it does fine. I have used it completely stock for 2 years. I will never win a race on it, but I don't come in last either. In my opinion, the 250R would be more competitive. I am not a very good rider so I just do these races for fun. Go for it and have fun.

    I don’t see this bike being competitive in this type of riding. However for these trails I think it would be excellent choice especially the very low maintenance vs. the 2 strokes. Now if Honda would put a 2.5 gallon gas on it, a head lite, Rear brake lite and a kick starter perfect

  • @jonesy1780

    Does the stock gearing work good for these races? I’ve heard lots using a 48T rear sprocket. Was debating on changing mine out but undecided. Thanks. Your videos are awesome. Impressive. I have a 2022 model with Racetech suspension all the way around. Love the bike.

    I see guys comment on stiffer suspension and I couldn't agree more. It's not a supercross bike but it's great in the woods. Might try some new tires to. Your doing great. Takes time to get in shape. People don't have a clue how tired you get. Springs and tires and you would be set. Would feel like a new bike. Good luck.

    Your riding skill are getting better and better. Your trajectories are smoother too. Great job. Keep enjoying yourself. I am sure your soft tires made a difference. I liked the "that was a di@# move" it really looks like you have a smoother ride with that 4 stroke and lower power than the powerfully one. They are always on/off throttle!!

    Nice job, man! I have a 250F that I bought from my nephew, who thought it was going to be a wheelie machine instead of a trail bike. I really like the bike. It’s just what I need for now. I rode dirt bikes from age 8 to about 18, then took 30 years or so off 🤨. The 250F has been a good bike for getting back on the dirt. Have you done any mods to yours?

    • @jeremylanders9425
      @jeremylanders9425 2 года назад

      I was in the same boat. I also had taken 20+ years from riding and decided to get back into it when my 13 year old wanted to learn to ride. I grew up on air cooled 4 strokes so that's what I decided to get. I don't regret it for 1 second. For the riding that I enjoying doing, leisurely trail riding with my son, it is an amazing machine. The 250F fits my skill level perfectly. it always puts a smile on my face when I pass the 2 stroke guys in the woods. I often wonder whats goes through their head when they get passed by a 42 year old on a "beginner bike". Usually on the starting line I look around and feel like a minnow in a sea of sharks then pass them on the trail. thank you sir, I belive I just named my bike the "baby shark". The bike is completely stock straight out of the dealer, minus pillow top grips and Amazon handguards.

      @@jeremylanders9425 Thanks for the reply. I had to replace the clutch lever from where my nephew laid the bike down, and I added some handguards, but other than that, mine is stock, too. Baby Shark! I like it!

      the entire bike is stock, minus pillowtop handgrips and Amazon hand guards. The tires are a mid hard tire I believe (whatever came from factory) I do run them at between 11 - 13 psi, not sure if that matters though.
