    I thought this draft a lot of teams were very strategic. They didn't merely take the best player available they looked at who they had to take now and who they could afford to take later.

    One of the reason I prefer Simms is his affable personality - he uses phrases like "emulate the situation" all the time and if you bring it up he can laugh at himself. That's really likeable

    Dave Gettleman should get fired why because this pick was made by the owner's of the Giants with the help of the manning Family, No need for a GM THEM........I refuse to belief that Gettleman thinks or belief that Daniel Jones is better then Haskins NO WAY!!!!!!!

    @chrissimms I started hearing about this a few years ago it's because positions like running back and receiver are so deep with these spread Air Raid Offense now where as defensive ends/ linebackers. and offensive tackles things like that are a lot More rare so you're going to see them start going higher in the draft because there's fewer of them where as there's 20 25 receivers and running backs that are going in, even backup running backs our considered top picks and then with injuries people realize that all of a sudden their running game didn't drop off that much when they had just a good offensive line and thete top running back went down

    Josh Allen had 17 sacks last season - the giants passed on him.

    • @juandoe7802
      @juandoe7802 5 лет назад

      He's a 3-4 linebacker. I'm a Raider fan and was upset they also passed on him, but the more I saw fellow Raider fans discuss and explain Allen's position, it was clear that he was meant to play in a 3-4. He doesn't set the edge for run defense as good as the others ahead of him. I'm sure he'll have a good career, just not with a 4-3, where in coverage you'd just be wasting his ability covering TE and zones within the defense.

    Chris Simms is the absolute worst. A washed up nobody who never did anything. He sucked as a quarterback now he is evaluating talent?...PLEASE! How this guy gets any air time is beyond me.

    • @Sight4DaBLIND
      @Sight4DaBLIND 5 лет назад +14

      Unlike the other 99.9% of the U.S. male population, Chris Simms did play D1 College Football at Texas, was drafted into the NFL in the 3rd round by the Buccaneers and was in the NFL for 7 years. He's more qualified than the majority of analyst who haven't played sports on any level, yet alone the professional level.

      Clearly you've never played sports. The guys with little natural ability of their own are the best coaches and/or evaluators because they had two make up for that wide gap in talent with great understanding of their game and those are the guys in the locker room have the utmost respect for because its literally almost all hard work. Look at all the great former coaches(there are rare ones who did not play professionally but have such a deep understanding of the game that they become great like Bill Belichick or Paul Brown but most others are in this boat); Bill Parcells, Tom Couglin, Tom Landry, John Madden, Frank Reich, Doug Peterson etc. It doesn't just stay in football but basketball as well; Steve Kerr, Phil Jackson, Mark Jackson, Walton, Stotts and drawing a blank on the Mavericks coaches name but him as well. But the greatly talented are bad coaches or talent evaluators because so much of what they did was natural talent so they take it for granted that the players they are coaching can do the same things they did (look no further than John Elway in football or Michael Jordan in basketball). He gets air time because he was one of those guys who flamed out but held on so long in the NFL because he had great football knowledge (clearly passed along by his dad) and did not have great talent of his own. I mean look at guys like Tim Tebow or Matt Leinart no one wanted them as backups for long because they did not have the knowledge Simms had to compete despite lower talent. It's why guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick get a million teams. Hell its why Tony Romo is such a great TV analyst; he had average NFL talent but was amazingly smart (I mean look at the kid Daniel Jones; he's literally made a career now out of working hard and being the smartest one despite having average NFL QB traits).
      Also last I checked Montana made more than enough money to live comfortably and did not want to/like partaking in talent evaluation or TV broadcast so there's always that as well.
