@@JuggernautSPQR I only ever listened to it, I didn't know it was about the Guardians of the Galaxy x) I always thought it was one of the best lines, it really stuck with me, cause I saw it as when someone is spiraling down to the point of harming themselves with their tunnel vision and rage so much that they cannot articulate it in words, they are consumed by it and need a helping hand to get out!
Don't want my comment to get buried, so i'll replace it here: you should make a republic commando song, The game is admittedly old but one of the best out there.
This really works for Guardians of the Galaxy, and not just because it sounds '80s. The focus of the song meshes well with one of the major focuses of the movie, although not one everyone always remembers.
This song fits this movie so well. The start and chorus are perfect. The rest is great, but the start and chorus perfectly fit the feeling you get when you think of star-lord
This should have been the trailer from the start ! Whenever miracle of sound releases a title, either for a game or a movie, there is respect for the genre,no spoilers, and with talent ! THANK YOU for everything.
***** Note that The Cries of a Dead World was the ending music for Wasteland 2. And Gav has been approached by big name companies before. Take it Back was requested by EA/Bioware (can't quite remember which). This song making the end credits is not outside the realms of possibility. Or maybe I'm just hopelessly optimistic.
How are you not the top music channel on RUclips? I am genuinely confused about why people like Bieber have over 10 million subscribers, and you don't even have 500,000? You are so much better than people who just screech into the microphone, put a beat behind it and call their horrors "Music".
Maybe this people couldn't understand the lyrics of typical pop songs? No, I think they don't like to hear music with a little more draft and with meaning ^^ sorry for my english I'm from good old Germany :D
The answer to your question is, "Because Gavin doesn't make shitty soulless pop music". The sad reality is that the general masses prefer mass produced corporate bullshit over music made by actual artists.
You can always count on your friends. They will always be there for you. And why? Because they respect, care and love you for who you are, and they would never change you for anything in the world.
I first listened to this song on Soundcloud and loved it. It honestly sounds like it could be on the movie soundtrack. I think that one of my favorite things about you is that you can adapt to whatever you do, giving the feelings of whatever the song is based off of, while still keeping that personal sound that no one else has. You've perfectly mastered the sound and feeling of this movie and the era from which it originated. Excellent work. :)
miracleofsound This song is awesome. I talked with a friend on Skype about this and we both agreed that this song is on a level that it could've saved a dear friend of ours from suicide if it had came out earlier. He took his own life eleven years ago in 2004. We were all left with the assumption that it due to him having more pressure in his life than he could handle. Listening to this we both agreed this is the kind of music that would've most likely helped him to open up to us more about his troubles before it was too late. TL;DR: My friend and I think this is the kind of song that could be able to save lives. :)
I have been a fan of MIRACLE OF SOUND for a couple years, and in this has got to be my favorite song yet. Ive been having my doubts about the company I kept and have been distancing myself from everyone. This has been the result of trust issues hat have sprung up over the years and even my best friends don't feel like friends, just people I know. But when I found this song during my shift and listened to it for the first time a smile spread on my face and I have never felt happier. Heck I even sang along on my way out the door It reminded me of the good times and that there are people out there who care for me. Not an instant cure, but its a start. Thank you MOS, I owe you a lot.
I can't get over how you can make original music for fictional characters that fit their character, story, and even the style and even sound of official music. You basically did a music video for Rocket with this, and you made another for Ratchet. Now you just gotta do Sonic, and for me, it's complete. (Though your Spiderman song basically fits Sonic in attitude and best.)
This song reminds me why I love music. Simply great. People in the comments are saying "He deserves more subs", and all I'll say is he will get them, and we will be there to see it :)
Man this song is just perfect. The guitar, the drums, the singing, the melodies, the chorus, the bridge are all just amazing. You seem to be able to cater to every genre out there perfectly. My reaction when watching this video went something like this: 'Watches video for 10 seconds... time to go to iTunes'
Well it all pays off so, so well, man. I love a lot of your songs (of course, some songs are just not my style, but I still recognise the talent behind them). And as someone who loves drawing, I completely agree with the practice and the time, but as a fan, I just want to say thank you so much for making all of this amazing content, and I seriously wish you all the success you deserve :)
miracleofsound I first heard your Joker Song, and I think you need to compile an album called "Gotham Gallery", based on the most well-loved characters, including: Babs Gordon The Commish Harley Ivy Harvey Dent Penguin Catwoman Riddler Bane and of course, Red Hood, Nightwing and Bruce Wayne as well as Bats.
Wow. This song could have been on the soundtrack. The feel is perfect. The sound is straight out of that late 70's early 80's time period. I listen to this and images that pass through my mind are as follows - wonder years, full house, family matters, starsky and hutch, love boat, cheers and taxi.
My I cannot take his name in vain... this is so accurate to the 70's and 80's style of music that I could swear that this was actually made in the era, if not for the description. It's amazing.
I'm amazed every time I hear a new song from you at how well suited the music is to the theme, how appropriate the lyrics are to the subject without being forced, and just generally how good they always sound. Another solid song!
Gavin you never cease to amaze . Truly you are one of the most talent songsmiths around . Keep it up and can't wait to hear the metal album you've been working on
I randomly remembered this song today and I forgot the lyrics and who sang it and I haven't heard this song in over a year. And I kept repeating "something something my friends... something carry you!" And then it hit me that this was a MoS song, but I couldn't remember the name, so I RUclipsd "Miracle of Sound my friends carry" and then BOOM, Guardians of the Galaxy. This song was driving me nuts all day.
Your songs are so amazing, Gav. I often say to myself "there's no way he can top this song!" But yet, here we are, you've yet again composed another spectacular song. Amazing job.
Ok, I'm just gonna vent everything into one comment here: God, I envy musicians, I love music( a gene which I got from my Dad ) and it's definitely helped me out through tough times of my life, but the thing is, I am just not an auditory thinker, I am very visual. And while I enjoy creating designs( that at least I deem cool )I'm always baffled at how people can create such epic riffs while the auditory part of my brain is the equivalent of a vast, empty desert. Even when I think I've got something, it always turns out that I was just subconsciously ripping off something else which I don't realize until I hum it to myself. Gavin, you're awesome you've inspired many a story, character, personality, design, and redesign . Keep doing what you're doing, and although I will never figure out how you do it, God knows I'll enjoy it anyways. :). P.S. You know, when I first found out you were making a Guardians of the Galaxy song, because I totally don't stalk you on Twitter or anything, I thought "Oh, that was a fun action movie, he might make a fun rock sorta song", but this...SO MUCH 70'S! SO MUCH 80'S! It's awesome! Friends for awesome mix vol. 3! I'm calling it now! P.S.S. What instruments kick in at 00:9 ? If you made it to the end of this comment, congratulations!!! Thank you for putting up with my rambling
miracleofsound Wow. I totally missed my instrument coming in there. I feel like a disgraced trumpeter now. Probably was too overcome by how good this song is. Really good as per usual man. Thank you, truly, for doing these amazing songs.
Tectiva I feel you man, I really do. When I had a major interest in music, I took Violin lessons. But my brain was so confused, I couldn't make the connection between musical notes on paper, and the violin. I was young, so, I could probably do it not, but it still confused the heck out of me. I still can design amazing tunes, multi-part instrumentals, and so on and so forth...but I have no idea how to convey them to paper, or know an instrument I could play them on. That said, I still casually fool around with an Ocarina, but those are not easy to compose your own music for.
OK, this one is going on my " Songs From The Edge of My Hell " song playlist, with The Halfman's Song, When Winter Comes, The Joker's Song, Wake the White Wolf, and A Dog's Life. This is arena rock, and deserves to be played to a real audience, live.
"And when you're punching for vengeance
Literally
Cause you can't find a metaphor."
lol genius.
I love how a lot of his music has subtle references to the source material. It rewards good listeners.
***** Considering wich character that line refer, it's a good thing, right? ;)
The only part of the song I don't like it's funny but feels out of place for me :P
Indeed, Lewis.

New song for all you lovely people! Getting this one to sound 70s/80s was challenging but fun :) Enjoy!!
I LOVE IT GAVIN!!!
YES!!YES!!YES!!!

alex Lank mmm love that game
Damn you. Another fantastic song from you. Made my day happier. I can't wait for that metal album.
This song is music to my ears. Literally. Because I can't find a metaphor.
This line was absolutely genius.
This is just perfect.

This need to be on the soundtrack for Guardians of the galaxy 2
I second this motion.
WarpedMindDogma Would be great, but they'll never allow a song this recent (unless they swing by Earth).
It'd have to be a 60's/70's song.
***** Note that The Cries of a Dead World was the ending music for Wasteland 2. And Gav has been approached by big name companies before. Edward Hardwick I'm sure Ubisoft used his "welcome home" to promote Far cry 4 =/
***** Less unlikely: The Guardians get some sort of popularity on earth during Avengers 3 and Gav is a 30 second cameo singing it acoustically lol.
"Lonely pain is harder to mend" is a line I come back to over and over again.
This is the most 70's song I've heard since the 90's.
I honestly think that this is Gavin's best work to date.

Well, songs pertaining to geek culture is a bit of a niche genre to be fair. Besides, people are dumb.
Maybe this people couldn't understand the lyrics of typical pop songs? No, I think they don't like to hear music with a little more draft and with meaning ^^ sorry for my english I'm from good old Germany :D

conduit64 How I wish what you were saying was a lie... but then I would be the liar.
"Friends...they will carry you..."
With Rocket that can be taken quite literally at times
This is yet another song I'll be grabbing as soon as it hits iTunes.. Uplifting, positive, absolutely the heart of what music should be!
Thank you :)
ROFL This is brilliant! "flora tall, fauna small" and "punching literally ´cause you can´t find a metaphore" made my day. :D
You can always count on your friends.
They will always be there for you. And why?
Because they respect, care and love you for who you are, and they would never change you for anything in the world.
HOW HAS THIS EXISTED FOR TWO MONTHS WITHOUT ME KNOWING ABOUT IT IT IS BEAUTIFUL
FANTASTIC! Caught the heart of the movie with a real 70's vibe! ROCK ON!

ZnakerFIN I'm sorry to hear that. I hope the song brought you guys some comfort :)

Someone setup a petition for getting this into the sequel RIGHT NOW!
I'd LOVE this to get to James Gunn... well, back before that was too late, anyway. I kind of think he'd have been up for including it somehow.
Immediately put the biggest smile on my face. Gav you've done it again.
I am an 80s rocker. This has my seal of approval.
--SEAL--
The best pick me up for any day. Thanks again, Gavin. You make this world a little brighter every time you put one of these out.
The more time goes on, the more I come to appreciate this song you made. Splendid music Gavin!
I have never been disappointed with your work.
you have authentic music . you are authentic musician!!!!

'Watches video for 10 seconds... time to go to iTunes'
They're not friends, they're family.
I'M MARY POPPINS Y'ALL!
Ask to make a Vol.2 song with the title “Family “
They are Groot!
Except for her.
Friends are family.
Miracle of Sounds, I'm glad to say that you are my favourite musician, your songs make my days infinitely better.
Gav, I seriously don't know how you do it. Solid lyrics, catchy hook, awesome tune, again and again. How are you this goddamn talented?
Lots & lots of practice and 70 hour work weeks :)

Babs Gordon
The Commish
Harley
Ivy
Harvey Dent
Penguin
Catwoman
Riddler
Bane
and of course, Red Hood, Nightwing and Bruce Wayne as well as Bats.
7 years later still one of my favourite songs 🎧 ❤️
Definitely worthy of the Awesome Mix.

Okay, I'm sharing this with everyone I know who liked GOTG. Bravo.
Perfectly matches the atmosphere of the film. So great!
Gavin, thank you for yet another incredible song!
i can't stop listen this song ; it is awesome, really good work
I really love this song, touches my soul..... Keep uploading these master pieces !
My I cannot take his name in vain...
this is so accurate to the 70's and 80's style of music that I could swear that this was actually made in the era, if not for the description.
It's amazing.
Your music is amazing. Thank you for allowing us all to hear you talents
Yes. It's been too long since we've gotten a song. The wait was worth it.
I'm amazed every time I hear a new song from you at how well suited the music is to the theme, how appropriate the lyrics are to the subject without being forced, and just generally how good they always sound. Another solid song!
This deserves SO many more views. Awesome.
I love this song, takes me right back to the 80s! Well done Gavin, keep up the awesome great music.
Just amazing. Gavin is like a God.
He even looks like Jesus
You could even say that he's a MIRACLE OF SOUND
Gavin you never cease to amaze . Truly you are one of the most talent songsmiths around . Keep it up and can't wait to hear the metal album you've been working on
A song perfect for Star Lords mixtape!
I was beginning to fear this would never come to exist! What a good way to start 2015, Gavin!
This is such a brilliant stylistic throwback. Perfect for this movie!
This made me smile so much that I think I sprained my face! So awesome!
How are your songs so amazing? you never disappoint. This has to be your best song it just fits it so fell.
miracleofsound, LOVE THE FONT!! OLD school metalheads SHOULD recognize it, I know I do and keep up the GREAT work!
Gavin you musical maestro, I envy your talent!
I randomly remembered this song today and I forgot the lyrics and who sang it and I haven't heard this song in over a year. Hey Vic! How is Andrew Applesauce?
He aight.
That's good to hear.
Easily one of your best. You sir are a musical genius.
Brilliant! I could totally see this track being in the movie!
I can entirely see this being a radio hit in the eighties. Love it.
This is perfect! Your talent as a music composer and a video editor are out of charts!
The best song with the funniest lyrics. You've made my day Gav, like always.
Been having a rough month and this has really helped. You're amazing Gav. Don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise.
James Gunn is the true hero he gave these characters new life and and actors new fame.
Well Gav, congrats on being the first person I've ever given to on Patreon. Love your music!
Great job! Yet another that will be on repeat for quite a while.
Also, the lyric about not finding a metaphor? Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Absolutely brilliant! Made me fall in love with the movie all over again!
Kicked off a fresh year with an awesome song. Great Job.
I just love the sound and movies, so much fun :)
The perfect combination!
Great song for this movie, the intro is just perfect ^^
Good job Gav ! :)
It's like he distilled the classic rock and goofiness that made GotG great into a song fitting of Awesome Mix vol. II
I finally watched the movie after listening to the song over 100 times. Totally worth it :)
Its really nice to see bit of classic style from time to time :D .
The thing I love most about your songs is that you always are able to capture the essence of your subject matter. Love it! :D
I watched the film for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I loved it. Quite possibly my most favourite Marvel film.
wow, i'm always so amazed by how well you can change music styles! this is great!
You never fail to make a song sound so fitting with its inspiration. Great job once again!
Three words....this is awesome.
I love how this sounds like something that would appear on Awesome Mix,
Your songs are so amazing, Gav. I often say to myself "there's no way he can top this song!" But yet, here we are, you've yet again composed another spectacular song. Amazing job.
I really like the tone for your first 70's song. This is another great song, keep up the great work
I was actually giggling the whole time I was watching this. So good!
This song made me watch Guardians of the Galaxy.
Thanks for that.
Same
Oh Gavin
You majestic majestic Artist.
This track resonates with me on a personal level. It's like a Miracle of Sound 'pick me up' that I didn't realise I was needing. awesome track Gav!
Listened to it on SoundCloud first. Great song!
this song should be in the next GotG movie. it fits.
The movie was great and the song is amazing too!
ANOTHER MOS SONG I CAN'T OUT OF MY HEAD! Well done Gav!
Thank you! The instruments that kick in at 0.09 are trumpets, trombones, guitars & strings :)
miracleofsound pleese make song by five nights at freedy s
miracleofsound Wow.
That said, I still casually fool around with an Ocarina, but those are not easy to compose your own music for.
darkabysskiller To be fair, it's a) A trumpet plugin and b) layered up with other instruments, so it's not bad that you missed it :)
I love everything about this!
*dies on the inside because this is so great*
OK, this one is going on my " Songs From The Edge of My Hell " song playlist, with The Halfman's Song, When Winter Comes, The Joker's Song, Wake the White Wolf, and A Dog's Life. This is arena rock, and deserves to be played to a real audience, live.
Amazing, i love it! Especially the chorus, good job
Another day, another subject matter "sound style" perfectly captured. Great job as always, MOS!
YES!!! i already saw this on your bandcamp page and it is soooo awesome!!!!! thanks again for another amazing song
Great job, Gav! My MOM may even enjoy this, and that's saying a whole lot since 70s music is one of her favorites! You nailed the sound perfectly!
As always Awesome song damn its addictive....Live long and prosper...
