I wish there were more to weapons than just boosting atk and stagger. Like adding buffs to certain eikonic arts or boosting counter atks etc. It just feels underwhelming for me since the combat is really good. A little depth in weapon customization would work wonders I think.

I crafted and was using Excalibur when we got to the area where the Anctient Sword was. Although for reference I had been completing all side content (hunts, side quests and side quests from Clive’s letters) so that probably factored into getting Excalibur just before story unlocked the Ancient Sword location.
The Ancient Sword is pretty pointless if you did every sidequest and hunting board before that point in the game because you can then just craft yourself Excalibur which is stronger than the Ancient Sword.
I had some experience with Motion Capture and gotta say they've created, aside from the realistic performance capture, a seriously stylish fight and movement choreography for this. Considering how important the story and dialouges were in this franchise, they really did it justice this time. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in those new Resident Evil Remakes 🙂

The only thing on the list that I missed while playing blind was the one man’s treasure. As long as you are doing your due diligence in side quests and exploration you will easily come upon all of these “secret” items.
Compared to dark souls games this is simple. Can easily blow through the whole game just by purchasing base weapons as they come along. Could probably finish with a starter longsword too if you really want to drag out the boss fights.
Gear is pretty pointless in this final fantasy game they could have made it without ent kind of equipment system wouldn’t have been much of a different besides some of the armor passives
There's no point in doing any of this. Is it worth the maybe 4% damage increase? The game just gives you better gear in the next section anyway. This game could easily be completed with vanilla gear. Terrible game.

I personally think the game is average, it’s extremely linear, their is virtually no rpg elements and it’s way too easy. The graphics are amazing in some parts and adequate in others.

The lack of customization irks me. The combat is great, but I can't poison, confuse, blind, silence the enemies.
Yeah that's one of my complains, besides of relying on eikon abilities to make decent combos instead of getting a better basic move set

I was able to craft better weapons before those “rare” chests
katana is useless you already have a stronger weapon by the time you come across it

Only a handful are boring. There are a ton of great ones. Way better than turds of the kingdoms horrible side quests.

It gets even crazier in ng+, I’m consistently doing 200k-ish staggers
