You are obviously, easily impressed. As a real musician, I am embarrassed for her . She is full of angst and anger. That forced child voice ,and that horrible English/Mexican accent.
It's also obvious, that you are itching, to say it's alright for her to be unattractive and heavy . Your virtue signaling, is failing miserably!
I didn't like this song at first but the more I hear it the more it grows on me. It's very simple but has a good beat to it.

she is a true blue Aussie and does not care what people think about her style. she dresses the way she feels comfy and that is her style i think for a 19 year old girl/women with no training she is fantastic and she will do great. I just hope the industry dose not destroy her attitude to life and her love of music as it's all happening so fast for her. her performance at splendor in the grass dec 2019 was her at her best

The awesome thing about busking is that you learn real fast what works and what doesn't. You have to attract people. They're not stuck in a room with you.
I've only heard this song for the first time today and literally listened to this song 10 times already. It is addictive. My husband, my 6 year old, and I were all dancing to it playing on our Alexa.

That second 'higher' dance for me near the end where she gets that natural distortion in her voice does it for me. She absolutely nailed this, and it's adapted and refined. One of the best television performances I have ever seen without a doubt.
Here in Brazil, in some words, we pronounce the T like her does and thats why is so cool for us to hear her singing, sounds so different from the regular english songs we are used to listen

Um not really. Tara is awesome (especially when she watches Sohyang), but others do the instruction/explanation also. Beth Roars, Ken Tamplin are a few. Ken Tamplin has a 30+ year career playing guitar and singing with immense talent. Love you Tara. Please embarrass more contemporary talent and do more Sohyang. ❤🎤😇🤷🏽♀️
Tara’s great, but I also recommend Sam Johnson. He does a lot of explaining what the singers are doing and is never mean/degrading.

What gets me with this. is the performance. That's an artist that is really letting it come out. It for me has little to do with it being an awesome performance ability wise (which it has been in any clip I've seen of her) but it's about the amount of raw energy and just feeling poured into it.

Thanks for this reaction Tara, I suggested it a few weeks ago! Tones and I is a pretty unique young lady, she was busking Byron Bay a year ago and has now broken records spending 23 weeks at the top of the Australian ARIA charts. Her single Never Seen the Rain is a 'must listen' too! Thanks again!

When I listen to this live performance, I can hear an influence from Sia. It’s that effected vocal, I like it.
You are the second voice teacher to point the plosive "t" and "d" that she doesn't pronounce like in English but more like the way we Brazilians pronounce. And you are right. That gives her more space. I'll recommend this song to anyone who wants to speak English here in Brazil. It gives a proximity to our pronunciation style. Good evaluation. :-)
