British Airways A380-800 inaugural Landing at YVR

- For the first time in nearly a decade, the Airbus A380 touched down at Vancouver International Airport. This is YVR's first service from the aircraft and also marks the 35th anniversary of BA in Vancouver. The aircraft landed on the south runway or 26L, which is a bit unfortunate as if it were to land on the north runway I would of had a better view of it. I assume that it will land on the north runway sooner than later, and will try to catch it when it happens! Filmed May 1 2016.

Yeah I'm glad too last time when I flew to YVR in October 2014 we flew in a 747 400 with British Airways and it was a old shabby airplane and I'm glad that British Airways flies the A380 to YVR now.

+Jet Blast Aviation In my opinion, Vancouver is quite important but not enough for one of 12 A380's from BA :D! Greetings from Switzerland (which is served by only A320s and A319s from BA :)).
They likely gave them 26L because, at 11,500 feet, it's the longest runway at YVR. 26R is only 9,940ft. Thanks for sharing the video...I missed it because I was flying back from San Francisco.

YUL was served by the a 380 until october 2012 with Air France but the airline decided to remove it due to the low load factor in business class.

AF is having a problem in YUL to filout their planes. I don't how is AF doing YYZ and YVR but they are not planning to send the a 380 outhere.

I was all set to watch this plane land last year. In the winter BA uses a 747 and switch to the 380 in spring/summer. Now my chances are over😟

Thats compensate the a 380 loss in YUL back to the 2012. But do you think BA will keep the a 380 in YVR next winter.
