Such great ideas. Your brushwork always leaves me in awe
Hi Lin. You are so sweet. Thanks so much for the kind words and for watching. I have some workshops that area. longer form where I show you how I paint and walk you through steps so you can paint too. You can see them In the description under the video
WOW! As a potter and quilter I’m lobbing these ideas!!!
Hey Michele. Are you lobbing or liking? Either way, I think it is a compliment, haha. Thanks so much for watching and as always supporting us Michele.
You are such a talented painter, that makes your pieces even more spectacular.
Aww..thanks so much Karri! I really appreciate that. I have painting video workshops in the description if you are interested in learning. Happy potting.
Oh that’s brilliant!
I don’t say it often, but I love all your videos and tips. Thank you can’t wait to try
Thanks Aimee!! Jim and I really appreciate that. thanks for watching. Good luck!!
Pembuatan motif nya sangat terampil
Terima kasih banyak atas kata-kata baik dan menontonnya. Cobalah.
Love your hand painting! And the tape covered flashing tool!
Instead of using a pencil to mark the laser lines, paint food coloring on. It will burn out and does not need to be smoothed over- saving a step!
That is brilliant. Thanks Diane. I always like tips that can minimize my DNA on the clay 🙂. Even something simple as watercolor paint or acrylic will probably fire out too.
Did you do the voice over for DIY Throwing clay for Bill VanGilder's series? Sounds like you!
@@dianelints861 Hi Diane. Haha. I wish. I remember watching that show when it was aired. Loved it. Thanks for the compliment though 🙂
I love crazy quilts. Part of what I find so intriguing about crazy quilts is the added embroidered texture in the sewn squares. They’re so unique to each maker. I’ve impressed the shapes of embroidery stitches into the clay then inlaid colored slips. That gives me the look of embroidery but not the raised textures. I’m still trying to work out how to achieve that effect.
Hi Mavis. That is brilliant. What a great idea. For the texture, can you push out the clay from the back side slightly ...like how i pushed inward on the tufted piece?
I'd either carve around the embroidery design to lower the height of everything else, or carve a negative image into a slab and dry it to use like a sprig mold. Both would take a while though. But I love the monotony of relief carving.
@@stopaskingmedumbquestions I think I understand. I would have to see it. Give it a go! I love the process of the carving and also the painting. Doesnt matter how long it takes for me as long as I can get the look I want in the end. Im like you.
Absolutely beautiful ! 💖💖💖
Hey Easter. Thanks so much. We really appreciate you watching :-)
@@annruel1982 🥰
Omg it’s like your reading my mind 😫 since I started pottery I wanted to do this so bad it’s always in my mind but I didn’t know how thank you so much for doing this ❤

Thanks
Thank you (again) Gingy! You are the best!!

Oh Wow!! Thanks DC! that makes my day. Jim and I really appreciate you watching and your support. Give it a shot!
@@annruel1982 where are you two from? Do you ever offer workshops or anything?
@@dccreations1361 We are in Florida. I havent done an in person workshop since before Covid. We started doing these videos when covid shut the the country and the pottery studios down. I do have a more in depth workshop series of videos on mostly painting with underglazes which you can find in the description section under the video. But I dont have any plans to do in persons at the moment. Thanks for asking.
Love your clear instructions! I would like to know where I can find that handy trimming spinner. Searching the internet hasn’t helped so far! Any suggestions?
Hi Barbara. Sure. Diamond Core tools has them. It is a great tool to have. I use mine all the time. Thanks for watching!!
wow you always give me so much idees , 24 hours in a day are to short ...
Haha. Im so glad you like them. Thanks so much for watching.
can you make someting with nerikomi?
Hey Laura. That is a great technique. I love Nerikomi, but takes a lot of time skill and effort to make those complicated patterns and I usually try to focus on ideas that i can present in a 10 minute video, haha. We do have a video where I modify the Nerikomi idea to make it simpler and less time consuming. Actually if you are thinking about getting your feet wet doing Nerikomi, check out that video... DECORATING POTTERY WITH SCRAPS
I notice you often say "I simply....." Heh!
Yep, the director gets on me all the time for that!
Tell them from me that it is the truth. For you it is "simply"...... for me it is a goal and I thank you for helping me toward it. Carry on!
