Compared to Vivo V30 lite, 4G is almost 2.5x cheaper while the 5G one is $30-40 cheaper. V30 lite which has SD 4 Gen 2 is twice faster than the Redmi 13 4G which has G91 while the 5G variant has the same chipset (SD 4 Gen 2) If your friend has the 4G variant, I guess that explain why it is the case but if it is the 5G one, I dont think the performance would be that far apart. 100% I was torn between Honor, One plus 12, and Vivo x100. I think Honor and Vivo are a bit better than One Plus. I would have got Vivo but not much support for it in the UK plus I do like the more power and better screen & software on Honor. Just Vivo has the best camera in my opinion. I am how ever super happy with my Honor Magic 6 pro though.

I'm actually a switcher from a Samsung S24 Ultra. I got tempted by the cameras and eventually bought one to try. (Also the fact that Samsung hasn't been innovating lately. Re-releasing the same phone year on year w little changes)...cut to the end .....sold the s24 Ultra after 2 weeks with the Honor. This is my first non Samsung since the Note 10. 1:01 HBM brightness and Peak brightness are two different things. Peak brightness is only for watching HDR content. HBM brightness is for being outdoors in the Sun.
The peak brightness is bs on all these Chinese phones now for example displaymate tested OnePlus 12 it's claimed peak brightness is 4500 nits but the actual peak they could get was 2675 nits still very bright but miles off these bs claims now that the Chinese screens are doing but phones with Samsung amoled tested by the same website actually get close to or exceed it's claimed peak so it's not that the testing is flawed but that these screens are claiming brightness which isnt achieved in the real world maybe on 1 pixel lit up white as a technicality to claim stupidly high brightness. They just keep putting higher numbers than the next Chinese brand to one up them in a specs war so they can never go back now to having legitimate specs on brightness

I leave my testimony. A while ago I tried the magic 5 pro as a second phone, and firstly a 14 pro max, literally the rear camera beat it by a lot, the selfie camera too, but based on my tastes I'll stick with the iPhone selfie. I also had an s23 ultra and the camera is a disaster.

The camera isn't as good as I once thought. Initially, the photos look great, but then when zooming in on an image or when taking a photo, it becomes more like a painting. Try it and see. I can see why people mention the Huawei P30 Pro. I had the P30 and the HM6P isn't a great deal better. Yeah the screen is sharper and videos appear better, I just wonder how much better it is than the P30 Pro. I really wanted a newer huawei, but the lack of Google play store was a deal breaker for me.
Too bad you can't use it in the US. The major carriers have booted most Chinese phones off the towers now. Oppo Reno Ace was one of them, sadly, it was my favorite phone!
I have the Ultimate Edition and it charges with 100 watt speed...has even a better display durability as the pro model and some extra camera features. Overall it's the best phone I used in years and I buy normaly a new phone every 3 months...I like to check out what's out there....however.... I'll keep this one until the next model launch.

Honestly this phone is really good in anyway. You don't see much sacrifices aside from those AI thing in Samsung & Apple and Software experience or UI is just user preferences at this point.
I suffer from PWM sensitivity. How does the Honor Magic 6 Pro compare to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra? I don't really care about the camera. I'm more interested in internet browsing, emails, and watching videos. Currently, I have the iPhone 13 Max Pro, but I can't use it anymore due to PWM sensitivity.
We're so lucky that here in Mexico, we are able to use Chinese brand phones without any problems or restrictions, even with or without Google Services.

I've bought mine in May and it has the best battery life of all smartphones I've ever used.
Mine lasts 3 days with light use. 2 days with normal use. And over a day with heavy use.

It has way better display better optical camera, 4k120HZ , SD CARD SLOTS AND HEADPHONES JACK ( most importantly STOCK ROM , no blootware no bullishit pure android experience that's what I like )
But it's come down to preference at last ..
But one thing I agree this phone is good at price / performance ratio then sony .
Honor should be promoted more in Europe. A phone like this would do great in Ireland.

lens transitions in Honor was underrated. None other flagship Android phones fix that in their latest models
i love the modern design of Honor magic 6 pro it looks more expensive and slick
The camera isn't as good as I once thought. Initially, the photos look great, but then when zooming in on an image or when taking a photo, it becomes more like a painting. Try it and see. I can see why people mention the Huawei P30 Pro. I had the P30 and the HM6P isn't a great deal better. Yeah the screen is sharper and videos appear better, I just wonder how much better it is than the P30 Pro. I really wanted a newer huawei, but the lack of Google play store was a deal breaker for me.

Too bad you can't use it in the US. The major carriers have booted most Chinese phones off the towers now. Oppo Reno Ace was one of them, sadly, it was my favorite phone!
I have the Ultimate Edition and it charges with 100 watt speed...has even a better display durability as the pro model and some extra camera features. Overall it's the best phone I used in years and I buy normaly a new phone every 3 months...I like to check out what's out there....however.... I'll keep this one until the next model launch.

That's right, the camera is not the best, but it is one of them, given the price and extras, fast charging, you can hardly get a better one than it, I have already been with 4 pro for 2.5 years, I can't complain in general

Honestly this phone is really good in anyway. You don't see much sacrifices aside from those AI thing in Samsung & Apple and Software experience or UI is just user preferences at this point.
I suffer from PWM sensitivity. How does the Honor Magic 6 Pro compare to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra? I don't really care about the camera. I'm more interested in internet browsing, emails, and watching videos. Currently, I have the iPhone 13 Max Pro, but I can't use it anymore due to PWM sensitivity.
