Thank you for watching, Mike. Very much appreciated.
Superb! Great variety. Double Deltic has to be the catch if the day!
Thanks for watching.
Great catches. Quite a selection.
Thank you.
The Boston steel with a colas 56 was possibly one of the last to run. I assumed it was finishing in 2018 but I’ve heard a rumour it’s last run could be this month.
Can't say that I'm up to date with freight loco's or their movements. However, I would love to know how many lorries would it have taken to shift the freight shown in this clip ?. Some great shots, cheers.
It would be interesting to find out. Thank you for watching.
Not enough whatever the number is! Aggregate lorries carry about 20 ton per load or 1 standard shipping container per lorry. A single aggregate railway wagon can carry upto 50 ton so each fully loaded aggregates rail wagon equals about 2 road lorries. Put another way, a single loco can pull 20 loaded container boggies which is the equivalent of 20 less container wagons on the road. Double headed, 2 loco can pull 32 container boggies. Sadly, only about 3% of freight movement within the UK is by rail. The message is clear, get more freight on the railway and get more HGVs off the road network.
And this sheer variety all on the same day?
Just it bit bad luck that the 50 wasn't on power when it passed.
All of this footage was recorded yesterday (Monday, 9th October 2017). Unfortunately, 50008 & 56303 were diverted at short notice towards Thoresby vice Chaddesden. This resulted in the pair turning off at Stenson Junction, hence why they were slowing down here.

Brilliant video. I saw 50008 earlier in the day at Crewe. I've never been to this location before. Did you need ladders or anything special to get your shots?
Thank you for watching. All my shots were taken from locations accessible to anyone, for example on platforms or footbridges.
Kyle Law Thank you Kyle.
Two 47s, a 37, a 50 and two Deltics all one one day?! Deltic sounded amazing! ** Quite lucky at 4:00.
Thanks for watching.
Excellent video very nice in deed
Thank you.
Brilliant filming as always, but just curious though!.....did you know the deltics were due to run, or just luck
Thank you. I was aware the Deltics were running. Information relating to such movements can often be found on various railway-related internet pages.
A nice video Kyle, Thank you
Thank you, Ernie.
Where were the last three filmed please Kyle.
Stenson Junction and Willington Station were the locations in the final three shots. All these locations are within walking distance from each other.
Great video!
Thank you.
Wooooooooooow u lucky sod got all that in a day.
Deltics? DAFFUK, i need to pitch a tent in those bushes man! Is this what it's like most days?
Thank you for watching. This combination of movements is unlikely to occur on the same day again, although interesting movements often pass through this location heading to/from Derby.
Good video,thanks :-)
Thank you for watching.
Cooool
