Hope Earles Sdgs Class 20 Shunter + Cement workings around Hope Derbyshire 12/04/24

- A nice Friday up Mam Tor meant I could get out to Hope and see some of the Cement workings from Hope Earles Sdgs, also while there we thought we would take a visit to the Sidings and to the Cement works, where we managed to see Beacon Class 20, 20168 Shunter No2, running Light, unfortunately we missed videoing it with 6 of the EWS coal wagons by about 2 minutes, but overall a nice day with a lot of walking

I was always fascinated by the trains in and out of the cement works when me and my Dad used to go walking in the Hope valley area.

Beautiful vid Jamie! You packed a lot into just eight minutes! Great Green Darth on tanks, great shot of 66607 and more super footage of Earls Sidings with a nice Greenshed duo ying happily away. You had a very nice lengthy walk in the bargain so well done you all! Star of the show had to be glorious Loram 20168 excellent captures there on the single line happily trundling past oh and nice tones as well and a super livery too. Really enjoyed this and full credit to you, cheers Nick.

Used to work out of Hope on a powder tanker, the 20s where grey then,they look much better in the Blue livery, enjoyed seeing them,even though they where silenced
Very nice! Yes I think they have 3 20s, there is a DRS blue livered, Beacon Rail lighter blue, and a grey one. Love them all!

Good stuff. I unexpectedly came across the Class 20 at the Castleton to Hope footpath level crossing recently.

A Class 20 was used on the Nene Valley Railway for the Russia train scene in the James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) Film Goldeneye (1995) with the late Tina Turner singing the soundtrack opening titles.

The exhaust looks different to a normal 20, have they muffled it?
I'm not too sure to be honest, it's been on a long term lease to Hope, but I think unfortunately it's coming to an end if I'm correct

I think it's a bit of a guessing game, it runs most days during the day as it shunts the wagons to and from, definitely best when the EWS from Scunthorpe has gone there I'd say
