Sounded like there was a ton of resistance when you pulled the throttle...the wheels stopped almost instantly....they should spin for a while afterwards. Bearings, mesh, 35amp esc?
The mesh was the same as it was from the factory, as I didn’t change the size or pitch. The wheels spun freely and I even greased the diffs while I had it apart. I barely blipped the throttle and whe wheels were off the ground. There was no load on the drivetrain
That happened to me after converting my wltoys 124019🙈 Even if it says "2-3s", 3s is a definate no-no with these. Here's a great tip though! Glue the heat sink from the smoked esc on top of the new esc using micro prossesor glue! Makes a huge difference in temperature even when using 2s!
Great video, nice to see the lack of space for a brushless conversion. Lots of people are going crazy for this car. I'll stick with the 144001 and the 124019 much better once brushless. Keep it coming dude.

The centre slipper looks out of place in my opinion which leaves the whole thing looking tight on chassis space. Yeah, always make sure to buy an esc rated at a lot more amps than it advertises, plus it lets you use even more powerful motors and higher gearing without overheating.
I toasted a brand new Hobbywing 1080 last week. Didn't pay attention when I soldered connectors on and plugged the motor in to the battery leads. I've wired up literally hundreds of RC cars over the years and never done that before. Bet yer heiney I'll never do it again either. D'oh!

I did not find the same e.m. and I replaced the brushes. When I tested it flashed from e.m. until the brushes adjusted themselves. It was fun.
When you buy a cheap brushless setup get a super cheap brushless motor and a expensive esc. That is what I have found I tried 3 cheap esc's before I went with a castle
Your biggest mistake was plugging in a 5000mah 3s to a 35A ESC which couldn't handle such high capacity. I just converted mine to brushless with a 40A all in 1 ESC from a hbx truck and used a small 1500mah 3s.
Just like my Arrma Mega 550 and Voltage. Up in smoke but took 10 minutes each. ESC Were Suppose to handle 3s.... Couldn't even handle 2s. Would run for 10 minutes each before thermal shutdowns..
Me being 13 I'm on a tight budget and when I modified my traxxas rustler with a new motor, esc, and servo every single one died after one run. The motor started to smoke like crazy and then here come the cracks and the pops of my esc and smoke started to GUSH out of that thing and the servo fried.😂🤣😁👍

The reactions a good esc smoke show gets makes me want to put a little smoke bomb on a truck and take it to a hobby shop parking lot. Let them watch it run for 20 minutes after what looks like a write off lol.

The thing is, the C number from the factory can't be trusted, you should check with multimeter how much the current burst your LIPO deliver to the circuit, and the internal resistance of the battery, also you should check the internal resistance of the ESC using resistor or potentiometer.

But anyway, I got my 4x4 stampede out, put battery in it, it will steer but no throttle, it has to be the esc, I reset the tqi transmitter to factory and still nothing
Get a dumbo rc 6ch with gyro it’s like 40 on AliExpress what makes dumbo better than radiolink 12v radiolink and most transmitter push 8-10v dumbo does 12 which means you can put a whole lot of extras on the car the 1603 sg I’m still waiting for mine awesome truck I can’t wait to set up my brushless in it also check out wl toys 1/14 1/18 scale parts they match up you just gotta rig it check out rc clan he’s got a challenge on here with those sg 1603 cool video though
While I sincerely appreciate you present the hobby in a way that shows you can have tons of fun without breaking the bank, sometimes cheap isn’t the total answer
Look into wl toys a959b metal differential kit it has all the gear pinion reduction gear and the trans this hobby is about riggin it you know what I mean

I subscribe to you , you speak nice man you sound very nice. The chinese are full of lies, it say 3s and just burned. I have the same experience with 60 amp surpass hobby esc. You have right that the upgrades must cost under the price of the car, but as you see and as i have see the cheap chinese electronics many times go wrong. Another proof that the chinese electronics are crap . I know that the things brake sometime, but me personally i am very low budget guy and when something brake easily , makes me to go away from the chinese rc cars. Sorry but i am not reach guy to try and try things. But i don't give up so easily , i will give some opportunities, but after some time with the hope that they make something with more quality.

I have had one of the 60 amp esc's that also "could" handle a 3S and after a few minutes, burn baby burn!!!!! feel your pain

Mah is capacity. It has nothing to do with current, voltage or amps.

Also change out the wheel hub do a 1/10 scale conversion kit and you can put any tires on it

I've been using the HB 16bl30 4500kv 3s with this rc. It's quick but I don't really like how stuck the diffs are.

You can take the hex off your haiboxing buggy and put them on the truck just pull the hex off the pin drive and switch everything over easy peasy
The haiboxing doesn’t use drive pins, so the hex adapters won’t work on the SG.

of course it's going to blow out, look at the size of your LIPO it's humongous, I have this ESC, and it's only could take 2200 mAh , 20 C max
The Mah is just the capacity. I used a 50c battery and barely blipped the throttle, so it was hardly pulling any amps at all.

Not right off hand. It’s an odd ball.
SG1603 is 9mm. You either get a conversion kit to 12mm or ground it down to 7mm slowly to fit wltoys part.
Tried plugging a 3s into my tble02s and it blew up instantly

I own the SG 1602, 1603 and 1604. You’re correct. They 1602 is totally different from the ‘03 and ‘04.
