So happy to see you work on a Necchi! I have several and need to do repairs and maintenance. I have manuals, but
need help! I have a BU Nova and BF Mira that both need a bobbin winder mechanism replacement. It seems like a
common problem on these models. Thank you for your calm demeanor and steady teaching style.

Excellent video. Really looking forward to the follow up vidro to see how the wire underneath is attached. I have a necchi leila and a friend of mine said he could fix it. When I got it back, it still didn't work and a different motor was fitted. I'm hopeful on fixing it myself when I find a new necchi motor. Thank you for sharing.

THANK YOU! I just acquired this machine. With a little oil, everything was moving easily. Cords looked good and I did some test sewing and the tension was perfect. I pushed it perhaps too far and now the motor is laboring. My repair repair person is unavailable at this time and I wanted to check if possibly oil got on the belt. This video will help me look inside the machine.

Love this video, have four different NECCHI machines.
The one im looking to service or replace the motor on is a Borletti 1102, not a NECCHI but this video was helpful.

Beautiful machine and superb design. I just don't understand why they used plastic for the motor bracket. Makes no sense.

Great video, so helpful! I found a Supernova at the thrift store and was advised to open the motor cover and clean out the dirt as it can mess up the motor. Glad I did as it was filthy! A lot of dirt inside the motor (not sure how to get it all out...) I will check out the next video on motor brushes next...

A long screw driver inserted from the top. You can reach the left screw of the motor bracket that way, though you may have to rotate the hand wheel to get the clearance.

At 15:49, when you put your finger on the little pulley, it looks like the motor shaft has quite a bit of play in the bushing. Is that motor going to be usable?

Generally, that is not an issue as many of these motors have 'some' play for the shaft to move. If there are issues with bearings or bushings, you will often observe either motor slowing, low power, or odd sounds indicating that the bearings have gone bad. FYI, motors can have other problems, but for bushings/bearings, I have not noted any correlation between the play of the shaft and the lifespan of the motor.
