      Thanks yo. I def don't have anything against PM, the dudes a legend. Set the bar very high for creators and gave a lot of tools away.
      Two things to consider.
      1. A 10 minutes video performs better than a 9 minute video. RUclips algorithm .
      2. At a certain point you get good at breaking down difficult concepts and piecing then into small digestible segments for your audience--- all while leaving room for a follow up video. Economizing how much information you give away is a skill set. One that I have in all honestly not perfected.
      If you add those two concepts up, you can see that the structure of his show and others like him, it's a refinement of the art, and sustainability of material / information moving forward.
      Just my thoughts! I could be wrong!

    • @FlyingHazel
      @FlyingHazel 6 лет назад +38

      MAKE. ART. NOW. For sure! Didn‘t want to bash PMK since I have huge respect for him and really like his stuff. However, I sometimes don‘t feel like watching his latest vlogs as I‘m worried how long I have to sit through chitchat until I‘ll learn something. This might be different for other viewers who simply enjoy being entertained by his personality for 10+ minutes.
      I also appreciate that you put the essentials of your vids in the description.

    • @rgiannino
      @rgiannino 5 лет назад +8

      @@FlyingHazel I see both sides, but I def enjoy PMK even when not learning something. The entertaining factors is worth the time. In addition, I know his knowledge is coming so worth the banter, IMO.

    It's all about the emotion and you achieved that in spades and the editing is where it's at. This is such a real situation. I am 71 and started video with a GH4 two years ago. Took some of my first video at a wedding, as an afterthought and took pics at the same time. It is so true - you just have to cut the chaf, keep what's got feeling and go from there. This made me hopeful about my footage. I filmed my aunt’s wedding at the beach and some shots were ruined because guests walked in front of the camera and two files were corrupted. At first I was upset with myself and sad, but as I looked through the viable footage, I realized I got some really good shots from the ceremony and reception! Your video has given me hope. (Prior to the event, I told my aunt I was filming for free because I’m still in college and learning more from my mentor.)
    I’m still slightly upset with myself because I feel like the available footage doesn’t reflect the skill set I have displayed prior, at live events, but I now understand that it’s the post-production that can make or break a video.

    This is a great lesson in how to recover from a bad shoot. Sometimes jobs won't go the way you expect and you have to take the footage and churn out the exact same quality as if they had gone perfectly. The only difference between the two situations should be the quality of footage, not the effort in post. Thanks for the great tutorial!

    Just getting into filmmaking, and this random video just auto played and damn, is it fantastic! Great Job man! I got married a year ago and the camera guy completely ruined our memories from that day. There's no footage and only mediocre photos of that day... But even after all that, there's a possibility to attempt something like this.

      Two words.....that's all. That was them. Crap, now that's 10....now 11.....crap need to count the number I'm talking about. Okay. So now it's 27. Right?

      I'm just trying to help you get where you can go. I once had a guy who really didn't actually like me that much SHOVE a hard drive FULL of DaVinci Resolve tutorials and install files into my chest. Now I'm a professional level colorist and all of my shots look that much more beautiful and everything I do for my studio is that much more in-house. DaVinci. Resolve.
