    Thank you for the video. Great work. Nice and precise production.
    Your PC is better than every Company-build PC for the $.
    I try to copy you and build this, wish me luck, it's been 12 years since the last PC.
    But now not all parts are available, in October 2020.
    I think of Define r5 substitute for Focus G.
    Any suggestion? The fans are loud? Would you consider other fans now?
    Will look at your blender work after i get rid of my potato laptop. TY so much.

      Hi Loris, let me know how your build goes!
      My fans are not loud at all, I think it was a good choice overall, but it takes some time to tweak them in the BIOS and Dragon, the MSI motherboard app, they are not great software. Right now the only fan I can hear every now and then is the CPUs. Going back I would probably get a more silent fan just for that, the one that came in bundle looked good, and does the job anyway. A fancier one can be added at any time.
      The Define R5 was one of my choices, it's certainly more spacious, I wanted for some reason the front 5.25 slots to use it as removable trays in the future, for DVD or HDD, plus budget!
      To be fair, it took me months to pick the right components, I couldn't afford to spend too much on this, but it was a lot of fun!!
      Going forward I've planned to buy a second identical graphics card to be used with NVLink or SLI not sure yet, but that's the reason why I bought this full-size MSI RTX2070 Super instead of the more compact versions.

    Hey Daniel! Loved the build. Just wondering how you connected your fans. Which ones did you put into Sys Fan 1-4 and which one did you plug into Pump Fan?

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  3 года назад +1

      Hello William, thank you for watching!! If I am not wrong I connected the front and top fans as sys fan 1-4 while the back one to the pump, this mb lets you control the speed of all of them, so doesn't really matter as long as you take care to finish the setup in the bios or mb software. Sys and Pump are only just header in this occasion. Hope it helps!!

      @@DanielOakfield Perfect, thank you. Also, I noticed that all the RBG LEDs in your build are the same color - how did you get them to be the same. Mine are all different colors. Thanks again!

      I used the MSI motherboard's software Dragon for that, I imagine other MBs use similar softwares

    Can u help me...I use blender and i have GTX 1050 2gb i want to buy ATI RADEON R9 380 4gb,and to use in program...Is radeon better then nvidia and does Blender better work with nvidia or ati..Tnx..

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  3 года назад

      Hi, while the ATI would perform marginally better than your GTX, I really reccomend waiting and investing in any entry level RTX as it's what Blender is optimised for, as an alternative, go with a good 1080!
      Any reason why you are looking at the ATI?

    Silly Questions if I may... (I posted similar on another thread/video... How much simpler / cheaper could you have compromised? Please may you summarise all the complete costs involved in this set up - from first online shop to final set up? MOre so, what would be a ready, off-the-shelf Dell or HP equivalent cost?

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  4 года назад +1

      Hello, simpler I doubt, my setup it’s very minimal for the performance. Cheaper for sure, buying the some of the same components from different brands, specifically ram, case, psu, keyboard, could have been worst quality but that would also mean less durability. This custom built is a good compromise for an entry level workstation. The question is what’s your budget?
      When you go for an off-the-shelf big names such as Dell and HP you usually pay around 40% more of what you can spend buying components and assembling by yourself.

      @@DanielOakfield Thank you. That's really great advice and direction to take from your experience, which I shall follow. I have looked into both options - the ready-to-go machines vs self-build. There are compromises and safety in both. The third option is to buy the parts as you did, then get a more technically-minded/competent person to build it on my behalf, and ship the device ready. That's my next consideration...

    Hi. Im a blender user and I love your choice for this but I going to make a secondary pc build, very cheap. I wish to know your opinion about to conect a RTX 2070to B450M/RYZEN 5 the case surely will be a Design Define Nano S USB 3.0 . Years ag, mounting a gtx 970 in a cheap motherboard and i3 four gen it works really really well.

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  4 года назад

      Rtx 2070 is good for sure and Ryzen 5 is going to be ok as long as you render with GPU! :)
      I completely appreciate price is very important when building your machine!

      @pedrorodriguez8601 4 года назад +1

      @@DanielOakfield Thanks!. This wil be my choice because I will still bet GPU render, since I tried eCycles (cuda version), I abandoned hibrid render (cpu+gpu). Its awesome how light becomes the cpu flow and that makes possible cheap CPU supports to powerful GPUs, that its my afordable option today.

    it is possible to render in blender with cpu amd + gpu nvidia?

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  4 года назад

      Yes Cycles allows you to do it, but due to how the rendering blocks are different in GPUs and CPUs sometimes it’s not beneficial at all, while in some other cases the speed increase is very noticeable! I will post some benchmarks on this subject in the future!

    • @nyborg6425
      @nyborg6425 4 года назад +1

      yes just have to configure blender correctly and use either render solutions such as Cycles or AMDs rendering solutions as they will raw horse-power the Nvidia card but boost the cpu performance.

    standard cooling fan??
    should upgrade it..

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  4 года назад

      Why? The temps of CPU/GPU never go above 60, there are 5 fans, and the flow is working quite well. But I accept suggestions. Apart from the fact that water cooling would be quieter :)
