    What are your thoughts on the exhaust on the Diavel V4?

    • @jvtaylor3
      @jvtaylor3 Год назад +5

      I hate the stock exhaust, however the Racing exhaust from Akra although very expensive is not only terrific looking, it sounds amazing. A required upgrade in my opinion.

      I personally don't like the look of it, although lots of people will. It is also quite subdued compared to the Streetfighter. The 'Spitfire' Akra option looks much better, but the price is totally prohibitive.

    Awesome I have a red 2023 Ducati Diavel V4 and I have ridden it over 3,000++ miles so far. I use as my daily driver. 😂 So far I have the tail delete and I moved the license plate to the side. Have fun!

    For clarification this response was for Michaeltelemachus - Yup, completely informed about that, I don’t feel a difference. And to your comment about journalists being bias. The ones that reviewed the DV4 never pulled punches on their reviews of other Ducati’s. Most I watched were independents and had no connection to an major publications.
    I think you rode a lemon 😊

    There’s a “high” seat which is 20mm (0.8”) taller that might make this bike perfect for us - I’m exactly the same height and inseam as you. I felt on the edge of arm comfort with the reach to the bars and suspect the taller seat might improve this just enough. My knees felt great though, much better for my long legs on the Diavel V4 than on my 1260 Pikes Peak. Good review man!

    Test rode this yesterday. Has loads of power and torque, but that's all the positives I took from it. Being 6'1, the ergonomics are weird. Pegs are directly below your waist. Not forward or back. Cramps you up. Couldn't rest my right foot on the peg as I kept pressing the brake pedal. Handle bars are narrow, and found my hands sliding off the ends if the grips.. Felt like the front wheel was going to slide out from under me at anytime I gave it some throttle. Maybe because the front is so much smaller than the massive rear wheel. This bike is covered in plastic. It literally has more plastic than a fully faired sports bike.

    Diavel V4 has kind of "unusual" handlebar. It's make of 3 pieces - aluminum middle attached to the upper triple and 2 kind of clip-ons inserted into the middle piece clamps (held by 2 M6 bolts on each side). Question to the actual owners of the bike - is there anything that prevents the half-bars / clip-ons from being rotated a bit inward? That will solve slightly long bar reach for many people.

    Another nice review Rembo! Question regarding the suspension on the Diavel V4. Like you I owned the latest Pikes Peak; however, I regretfully sold it a couple of months ago. For me the Pikes Peak was the best all around bike I have owned and ridden to date and there were many. One of the main reasons I liked the Pikes Peak so much was for the Ohlins ECS suspension. It is second to none IMO.
    That being said, how would you rate the Sachs/Marzocchi setup on the Diavel V4 compared to your Pikes Peak? Obviously I wouldn’t expect you to say it is as good; however, is it close to being as compliant? I’m taking delivery on my Diavel V4 this week and hoping the suspension will not be too far off in quality from the Pikes Peak. Thanks in advance.

    • @RemboUSMC
      @RemboUSMC  11 месяцев назад +2

      Robert, the honest truth is that I didn’t get to spend enough time with the Diavel V4 to test out the suspension and give you an honest opinion. One of the drawbacks of these semi automatic suspensions is that you basically only adjust the stiffness of your ride. When I took my pikes Peak to the track, I missed out on the fact that I could not adjust compression, rebound, and could only adjust preload on the mono shock. I’m sorry I can’t give you a better answer, but I will tell you that most of us will never push the suspension to its limits on either bike.

    • @robertmontefusco1902
      @robertmontefusco1902 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@RemboUSMC I have about 250 miles on the DV4 since delivery on Thursday.
      I can honestly report the suspension is much better than the first 2 gen Diavels; however, not quite as good as the Ohlins ECS. I’ve already started making adjustments front and back which are making it better.
      That being said, I’m not ruling out getting an S model if they end up offering one.

    Semper Fidelis. Cold warrior 0844. I never thought I would be considering a Ducati. Currently I have a Victory V92C (2001) and a Road Glide Ultra (2017). My main concern is the riding position. My knees are titanium and don't bend like they did at MCRDSD. This bike looks like it is somewhat better than a true sport bike, but still might limit my saddle time. Are true forward controls available? I don't envision any more than 350-450 miles per day. With my H-D, I can recover in just a few hours (and a Percocet or two). I'm afraid I'm too old for a Ducati, but they are beautiful. Very informative video. Thumbs up and subscribed.

    I am a multi Ducati owner (including (XDiavel) but this bike is not too good in my opinion. In fact the first time I tried one I actually thought that it must he faulty, so I tried an second one.
    It handles ok and has lots of grunt, but at low speed it is dreadful. I think that Ducati have shot themselves in the foot with this low rev rear cylinder cut out. I rode a Streetfighter V4s on the same day and it is a far better machine. The low speed running is much smoother, it picks up better at low revs and the gearbox makes the Diavel one feel like a Harley.

      Interesting comment, I must have watched and read about 20 reviews on the Diavel V4 and not one journalist it handles just ok and is dreadful at low speed! In fact Michael Neeves of MCN said it was the best bike he’d ridden in 2023 at the time he reviewed it and said he would change nothing. Also, all the other reviewers said it was excellent at low speed.
      I can’t wait to take delivery on mine to see if I experience the same as you. Stay tuned.

      @@robertmontefusco1902 I can only speak as I find. I sorely wanted it to be good because I wanted to buy it, but I definitely made the right choice in buying the Streetfighter instead. My son test rode one as well, and he found the same issue. He has just ordered a Pikes Peak v4, and made sure that it did not have the same issue before he did so. You have to take what professional reviewers and journos say with a pinch of salt, especially when they work for MCN. For instance, LCR said that there was no discernable difference when riding Pikes Peak V4 and the Multi V4s; this is just bollocks. My son has been riding the V4s for 2 years and he could immediately tell the difference, to the extent that he did the trade straightaway. I also have a XDiavel, and I love that. This all being said, I sincerely hope that youi get on well with your new bike.

  • @aluisious
    @aluisious 10 месяцев назад +1

    There is no reason for this bike to be $26k. It's a naked cash grab by Ducati, and they shouldn't be encouraged for doing this. It doesn't have electronic suspension, it doesn't have a bunch of carbon fiber parts, it doesn't have fancy wheels, it's got nothing. It's not even an exchange rate thing, because the Euro has been going down against the dollar.
    I have a 2016 Multi I bought new. I felt like I was getting a bunch of cutting edge electronics for the price. This...should cost 2/3 of what they're charging, and it wouldn't be cheap then either.
