Another great review, Tim. Please don't be tempted to change your style, I love the enthusiasm combined with an actual decent review of what it "feels" like to ride - most bike reviews are boring and lacking in comparison! Keep up the good work :) I don't think you could have it as an only bike though, nor many afford it (especially if it's not an only bike).
LOVE IT. I think a comparison between this and the Streetfighter V4S is due. They're about the same price, both absolute weapons. Ace video as always, you deserve way more subs than you have! 👍🔥🔥🔥
You said several times, how expensive it is. But, it is a premium bike and costs less than a V4 Panegale, most models of V4 Multistrada's and full spec BMW's. Also, much, much cheaper than the Skoda Karok, replacement for the Yeti. I know which I would prefer and you have only convinced me even more 😁 Great video, full of enthusiasm and useful information. Thanks!
Test ride a week last Friday for a day, bought one Monday. The Diavel is absolutely astounding on the road. It should not be able to do what it does on B roads.I love it 😍 You will have lots of fun appearing in ‘Superbikes’ mirrors over the summer on this ‘Cruiser’ 😉
People keep going on about the price but this is not the type of bike you buy as your first bike, you work up to it and trade in your current bike. I traded in my 1260s for the V4 so I wasn't looking at £23.5 and if you can afford this as your second or third bike, then you don't care about money anyway.

Tim, great passionate report, entertaining and informative. good to hear you are 6.3 (like me) and comfy on this bike. i'm saving patiently: next year i hope to buy this dream bike. what about you?
I loved the previous edition and think the V4 looks even more amazing. But the price is tough to stomach, especially when compared to the S1000R or Superduke or Tuono. I’m sure Ducati can justify the price due to brand loyalty but it’s a tough sell to those of us with less brand loyalty.
Great review…I can’t agree more. Just got my ‘24 Diavel V4 and as my 6th bike it’s by far my favorite! Its just fun to ride! My previous machine as a 241 whp H2SX monster…just was not as fun to ride!
Awesome video Tim, looking to get my first bike next year. Hope you get your hands on the new GSX-8s for a review, would love to hear your thoughts especially since we are about the same height haha.
I'm not a bike guy but I think i've just stumbled upon the Jeremy Clarkson of motorbikes. Excellent presentation dude even if I could only understand half of what you were describing. :)
Haha thanks Cap! All you really need to know is bikes go vroom, really fast, all bikes are fun and better than cars (but don’t tell the guy who presents Tim Rodie Drives Stuff, he’ll get his knickers in a twist)
I did get to take a black one for a test ride last Saturday in Sweden. It was ridiculously funny to drive, and yes the response in the curves just blowed me away. Now, i do have a dilemma though, because I owe a MTS v4s and I do like that one as well 2022, and then there is the rally version - which seems to have it all, but the price - but this one is just one that I would love to owe as well :D
Excellent ramblings!!... you clearly enjoyed that. This bike is an absolute weapon, if it was me I would pick the following from the accessory list; a keyless fuel cap (I know should come as standard) and akropovic exhaust and it has to be in red.
The secrets out lol you know the dealer where i live i bought a panigale 1199 got a free trackday at the track day i asked what bike the staff used whats favourite the answer was a diavel
@@timrodierides I have this feeling I may catch cold the day b4 it gets dropped off, some time off work is gonna be needed. May even pop down and let you ride her after run in.. 😁😁
I love the videos and sound of all the "non road/ race only" exhaust as this stock exhaust is not sounding amazing, question I have is - those bikes will be on the road (100%) and not on the track, who is going to insure it? I would love me one of these "not for road use" exhausts, but insurance won't touch me, so is everyone with not road legal exhaust lying to their insurer? When I was inquiring with Bennetts about "non road legal" exhaust they would not insure me. Thanks for your reply
Yep, we’re almost the same! Only thing I’d want to say is I was only on the bike for 2-3 hours, I’d be keen to do longer rides on it to see if my back started aching!
You wouldn't think it's anywhere close to a supernekked if you rode it back to back with one. I demoed one after riding my tuna v4 to the dealership, thought it was nice and smooth but not all that exciting and not for me, at least not until I get older. Somehow it hurt my back more than tuono 😂 it did feel surprisingly light and handled pretty well for its size and weight, but then I've never ridden a cruiser, so I wouldn't know what to compare it to. The foot pegs had me worried 😂 finding them was a struggle, the amount of leverage required to tip into the corners was very unusual for me (not bad at higher speeds while being more than i'd like to, but then at lower speeds I ended up pushing it down too hard making it a bit twitchy, probably just takes getting used to like all things) being used to tuono and 690 supermoto, ground clearance seemed decent for doing double the speed limit through the corners but not triple like I'm used to with my bikes.
It's always very unsatisfying to not see a bike in action. It's you or the handlebar. Maybe next time you're able to put your cam on a tripot and show us some nice shots. Would be great.
It's the most shocking bike I can think of, because if Ducati think I'm going to spend $27k on a bike with standard suspension and pretty much standard everything they're dead ass wrong. This bike is price gouging personified.
The whole system makes it sound like a Harley. Awful. I would keep the standard exhaust for the sakes of emissions and respect for surrounds - yes I’m older now and consider others around. I was not a fan of the previous gen (front looked too weak) but absolutely adore this bike. I also like rocket 3 but this might be my favourite of the two. In theory as it’s way too pricey. 😅
The compact Rotax 1190cc Vtwin 138kw ,138nm 204kg ,450lb nice upright riding position shorter wheel base. New Buell SuperCriuser's old school simplicity. I would pick every time over this over expensive technically complex kitchen appliance.
The cylinder deactivation, even in sport mode, on a motorcycle, on a Ducati no less, is enough for me to keep my current Diavel. The quad exhaust is cool, give it that. Four cylinders, not needed really. Why have the extra width? Smoother I guess. Over engineered. These aren’t going to sell. Buy Aprilia over this, especially at $27k.
I have a strong suspension that is due to ever tightening emission laws. Its a new platform, so they want to keep it future proof. Either this or every new bike is a parallel twin nowadays. R7 anyone?
If you collect all 4 Diavels you will have the baddest 4 roadbikes of all time... Think about it but don't hurt your brain. Just throw in a Husky 701 and a KTM 890 and you win at life. As long as you also get a Kawasaki 750 jetski from the 90's. Disagree? STFU.
Possibly one of the worlds ugliest & hideous looking bikes. Whoever designed this monstrosity should be sacked. How can a company responsible for some of the world's most beautiful looking bikes come up with this. Beyond belief. Unfortunately its not the only ugly bike they make. Omg the Multistrada another mess. Never mind it keeps all the buyers with no taste happy.
BEWARE!!! you need more money to maintain than to buy! Ducati sold less than 500 bikes last year and 350 the year before factory in Thailand, Monsters for sale here by the thousand second hand and diavels, because nobody can afford the maintenance. I myself have a nightshift scrambler and they want ten thousand dollars to fix a 12,000 dollar bike (muffler guards, 2 footpegs, 2 mirrors, slight tank repair, front fork seal replacement). I cannot accept paying almost what i paid for a new bike, just to repair a few scratches and replace a few peripherals. Like a yacht, you need not only the money to buy the bike you need the money to pay for all the overpriced Ducati replacement parts and services. Nobody in Thailand wants a Ducai now we have had enough of the overpriced services and lack of support, and nasty ripoff attitude of the Ducati service and repair department. Don't buy one, you will be left with the most costly thing you ever had to maintain. Cheaper to maintain a boat in a marina. Ducati is make or break this year in their Thailand factory (who import to UK), and they are failing, they are about to disappear from the marketplace, and are i their last attempt with the scrambler and diavel. .. Seriously, Ducatis are wonderful bikes but they are dying, the company is failing to succeed due to the impossible to pay prices for repair and service maintenance. Their bad reputation now precedes them, as does the fact that they are simply a money sucker. I advise to stay away from Ducati, unless you are wealthy enough to not care about a 10,000 pound bill to fix a 12000 pound bike. Take it from me, I own a Ducati
I own an 899 Panigale and XDiavel S. In the US owning and maintaining is not so bad. For maintenance jobs, labor costs much than parts and labor is mostly the same be it a Ducati or a Suzuki. Most of the costs of parts you could blame on the currency exchange rate and high import duties. Most parts being shipped from Italy. Dollars to Euro is a much easier pill to swallow than Baht to Euro.
