Im 95% sure they refer to NZ by its indigenous name because both places have a huge historical legacy of being settled by indigenous Pacific islanders/Polynesians - which still constitutes a major aspect of both places' cultural identities today. Same with Australia but idk if Qantas refers to NZ in the same way lol
