Just picked up my first Traxxis in a while my friend Scott gave me his 3.3 revo nitro and it was beat to crap and let the gas sit in it for about a year and so he said if you get it running it’s yours so while I was at the hobby store I picked up this trx4m black edition and I love it so far I didn’t even leave the store and had bought some differential brass covers for more weight distribution
I have the exact truck , I agree I cant believe they didnt do a tail light set . I had a wiring kit for a 1/10 scale , I hot glued in and works well . I love your build , I did mine a week ago with all injora , and a furitek brushless . Added a Flysky remote which made the reefs servo so responsive , and my crawl is slower , and my full throttle is better than with the TQ RXTX combo , like you said not much adjustability with it. My sons High trail has the Hyrax tires and is a bit better than my injora crawler tires. Fun rig over all , mine is actually a bit lower than stock and much more flex and weight . Great video . thank you
Thanks. My TRX4M comp rig has the Furitek kit in it. It's definitely one of the best upgrades for any TRX4M. The longer wheel base really helps this rig out. Thanks for watching.
How did you get added flex? I just got a trx4-m and have noticed that the flex is really limiting the crawling. Did you just change the shocks or change a small list of things to help that out?
Thank you for this video! New to RC anything, my 7 yr old son and I are getting into and we too are getting the trx4m high trail so this video is spot on for us, my only thing is the drive shaft. I’m confused is the the k10 one bigger bc of the lift kit? I see the injora doesn’t work so where can I get one that does work and will fit. We have no parts to work will so we can’t even test to see what might work so I want to try and get it right the first time if possible! From what I’m reading here the menus drive shafts work is that correct? I see little guy racing has one too but again no sizing just says it will fit a trx4m. Any information is appreciated! Thanks!
You're welcome. I can't speak on the MEUS because I don't have a set. Injora just came out with a new set that phase correctly for the High Trail. They should be on Amazon in about 5-6 weeks, or you can order directly from them and fet them in 2 weeks. The factory strive shaft will work just fine for mild to medium crawling. So you can take a chance on the MEUS or wait a little while for the new Injora drive shafts.
Thank you for the reply! I’m going to place an order with then anyway and try to get a lot of the stuff you have in your video, I need to rewatch it and take notes thanks again!
How well do the black Injora driveshafts phase? We had talked on a previous video how the silver ones couldn’t. I’m curious if they fixed it with the newer ones.
It's almost exactly the same or worse. It's much more noticeable with the High Trail because of the increased axle angle. I had really hoped they had fixed this issue with the new black set. What is so confusing is that the rear is perfect and the front is off? I'm not purchasing anymore until it's fixed.
@@hyperc5249 sounds like nothing has changed. It’s the same for the 2 sets I’ve gotten. Both front driveshafts were flawed. I’ve had good luck with the meus driveshafts though.
@@hyperc5249what was the issue you had with the silver driveshafts. I have them but just haven’t installed them yet. I was waiting for the original ones to break but they haven’t yet nor have the o-rings dry rotted
Yeah. I rebuilt my stock shocks with the aluminum housings, and they still aren't as good as the INJORA shocks. I recommend using green slime on all your shocks. Seal them up tight.
Mine aren't the portal version. Those are the MEUS straight axles to keep it scale looking. You can buy the MEUS portal axles on their website. www.meusracing.com/products/meus-racing-trx4m-portal-axle-upgrade-ground-clearance-8mm-brass-aluminum-alloy-for-1-18-trx4m-upgrade?variant=41287456358537
Nah it doesn't really. I have the 59mm ones and the upper front links touch the servo and won't really extend fully. And because they're longer at full compression you get shorter travel with the shocks.
Im trying to modify my trx4m high trail it's my frist ever rc if i buy a costom body for the normal trx4m will it be able to put on the high trail trx4m
The traxxas controller is really bad. Both trigger and steering wheel are really sticky witch inhibits crawling control. I have cheep Chinese RC's with much better controllers. Ffs traxxas!!

The black edition is awesome. Weight up front is what you want.

Yes 59mm shocks light springs high clearance links helped out.
Also keep us updated with what all you do with this truck, not much mod info yet and the more the better!
I'm on it. More content is coming soon.

Injora drive shaft fits the k10 I have it installed on k10. Works great installed 1 month ago. Works great.
@luiscolon8635 I explained that in the video. That's the black set that I had installed on the High Trail.
You wanted to know how to trim your body if you would have put the porter axles order
What? This video was made long before the portals came out. I did trim the body.

@dman19581969 the wouldn't phase correctly. But the have fixed that issue. Yours might be ok.
When you upgraded to the injora motor did it remove the option of crawl mode?
INJORA Pro motor on stock gearing makes it difficult to control the low end. So, not completely, but it makes it a lot less it capable to slow crawl.
the driveshafts were long enough? I thought the stock ones were longer.
They work great.

Still was a nice build could have been better it could have had portal axles little bit nicer so you didn't have to cut the body
@paulsimons1164 Thanks. Nobody made portals when that video was made. Plus, it's my scale rig, and I want to have straight axles.
Hey, can I buy those portal axels off of you by any chance?
