Based on the best-selling novel by Garth Stein, THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN is a heartfelt tale narrated by a witty and philosophical dog named Enzo (voiced by Kevin Costner). Through his bond with his owner, Denny Swift (Milo Ventimiglia), an aspiring Formula One race car driver, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition and understands that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life. The film follows Denny and the loves of his life - his wife, Eve (Amanda Seyfried), their young daughter Zoe (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), and ultimately, his true best friend, Enzo.

Ratnakar Arumugam I do not usually cry to movies (not out of toughness I just tend not to get as emotionally invested as others.) but this movie drive me to tears due to being so wholesome. Kevin Costner was great as Enzo.

This movie hits hard: cars, dogs, grieving over lost love ones, parents fighting for their kids custody, and did I mention dogs? Great movie; loved the novel as well.

All the crap he went through one thing after another all at once...I so related to it. It gave me hope.
This is probably the best movie I've ever seen. I cried a lot and at the end I could barely breath, but then again I was watching it with my two golden retrievers! Highly recommended!!

I read this book many years ago. This book save my life when my marriage was in ruin, same as the main character life. I learned to live my life through the hardest part. Live your life is the best medicine.

I saw this movie on the plane and it made me cry. This is the best movie about friendship, love, family and saying good bye to the one we loved.
"Just one more lap" & and the scene with the boy Enzo in Imola, Italy... Goddamn fought those tears, I did not cry!! Just barely. Beautiful story.
In the book he wasn’t a golden retriever. I’m glad they made him a golden in the movie. It reminds me of my journey with my golden who’s now going for 12 years. He’s my everything and perhaps I’m biased but there’s just something special about Goldens. I loved the book and I love the movie.
Life is not a race, its a championship. Some races are won, some are lost, some are won through bravery, others are lost through idiocy. But the focus should always be to win the championship. And winning the most difficult races in the rain makes all the difference.
One of the best movies that any pet-parent would ever watch in his lifetime..made me cry at the end😥😥😢..and I bet that you'll sob too..what an experience..highly recommended👌👌
So.. I shed tears. With snot. Bawled and ugly cried. In front of my BROTHER. This movie has everything that I love -racing, dogs, a little bit of tasteful romance, intense emotions. What a movie. Hell, it even has Sebastian Vettel (and Kimi Raikkonen) in it. This is definitely the type of movie that you rewatch every weekend but never get tired of. Loved it through and through.

He went everywhere with me. I work at O'Reilly Auto Parts and he went there as well when I was off and just kicking rocks.
He left an empty space in our lives I don't know how to fill. This hit me hard to rewatch. I miss my side kick, my team mate, and my friend.

I’ve got a bone to pick with this movie (no pun intended) 6:37 Why are they racing in the opposite direction of what any IRL race does around that track. It isn’t just here too. The last scene of the movie at Mugello, those cars were going the wrong way AGAIN.
Plus, why was the modern F1 logo used for a classic footage race? F1 doesn’t do that, and it typically isn’t televised but rather live-streamed on RUclips or on the F1 website
F1 still gets most of its audience through television, but admittedly it's not televised at all well in the United States; it usually gets put on pay TV and nobody watches it. I suspect the F1 logo is there because the filmmaker's ripped the Monaco 1984 footage off F1's youtube channel.
Apart from that, I agree with you. This film is a mess and fans of motorsport deserve better; watch Ford V Ferrari/Le Mans '66 instead.

The movie was produced by actual racecar drivers (hence the use of actual IMSA cars on loan) the driver's side door being near the pitwall and the other shots was for the camera. It's not as easy to see the driver from the passenger side, and the bucine corner shot from above the pits is famous and lets you know it's mugello for race nerds and not just "random track here"
Also Ford V Ferrari is a mess of falsehood, exaggeration, left out story, and mis-characterization. Donut media actually is doing a good podcast about the real story.
