Omg thank you so much from being so polite and curious over our British biscuits and chocolate! I've seen loads of American videos where they really over react when it comes to our chocolate and sweets! I have so much respect! So happy you enjoyed our things!!✌🏼️😚
Brit here. 1 - I don't know why this is in my recommendations. 2 - I don't know why I watched it. 3 - I don't know why I enjoyed it so much, but I really did. Had my first Hershey Bar after a childhood of seeing them in movies and was gutted. They're rank.
Since Cadburies was purchased / taken over by Kraft in America it has started to go downhill. They changed the recipe for the Cadbury Cream Egg and also have tried to sweaten every thing by adding candy pieces to it. Why change something, that isn't broken? :-(
Literally smiled the whole way through watching that. Though I had to restrain myself from shouting at the screen when you both began to eat the Jaffa Cakes upside down lol.
This is the first american tries British sweets/chocolate/snacks video where i haven't been offended, so thank you for that. You and your mum seemed so genuine with your reactions and opinions :) Also love your mums accent, she made me laugh :)
I love the terrys Choco orange too especially when it’s been placed in the fridge for a while..loved your mums reaction that’s how I expect reaction vids to be ecstattic
To be fair if an American saw how we Brits treat Oreos ever since they were introduced over here they would die a little inside. I think you are meant to pull them apart and eat them with milk but we just dunk them in our tea so they go soft and gooey.
Yes, the name Liebnitz tells you that they're GERMAN. Digestives are FAR BETTER. Plain with tea or milk chocolate... ...with tea, too. Did they actually discover that the Kinder Eggs held TOYS inside the inner containers?
And an AR 15 isn't a machine gun or assault rifle AR stands for Armalite Rifle as it was an armalite design copied by colt and it is semi-automatic meaning it only fires as fast as you pull the trigger.
...You guys seem to be really good friends!...your loyalty to British 'candy' is 'awesome'!! Let me know when you run out of your goodies, and I'll see that you get some more!! I live in Nottingham, England...one of our special chocolate products around here is 'Thorntons' ...quite 'posh' chocolates, well worth a go!! Live long and prosper..and sc*ew Hersheys!! (sorry if the spelling is incorrect!). xxx
I love watching people appreciate treats I've just grown accustomed to, it's like enjoying second hand appreciation for things that just seem normal to me.
You could call them that, but you'd be wrong. As Akaoni21 points out, they are made by a European biscuit company called Leibniz. They are, I think, Dutch, or Belgian. But the essential point is that they are NOT British. So why are they included in a box of supposedly "British" sweets/biscuits? Also, the Kinder Surprise egg is not British either. Its German (the German word "Kinder" sort of gives it away!). So why do people who send British "Candy" to the US for these sorts of tastings ALWAYS include these two non-British items? I know one could argue that you can - obviously - buy them in the UK. But that doesn't make them British. You can also buy Belgian chocolates, Swiss chocolate bars, American cookies (Oreos) in the UK too, but no-one would include those and say - "Here is some British "candy"", would they?
Your mum is beautiful which includes her heart & doesn't at all look old enough to be your mum & my god does she love her little girl, a very special lady, love & hugs from London England.
What I love about this and so refreshing is both you and your Mum (sorry I'm English so do the UK spelling) are so natural, no over dramatics, takes her time and says it as it is. You can tell by the comments this is a good video and I agree with others. If ever you were to visit the UK again and both made the journey. I'd put a bet that your Mum would would be treated as a local within an hour ;)
Just found your video and your mum so made me laugh! Her reaction to the chocolate orange made me giggle. If she wants any sending over let me know! lol
I like this showing your mum and sharing. I'm from the UK but live overseas this is a nice reminder of some of the things I miss. Many thanks for posting.
people commenting on the biscuits being eaten upside down are amateurs. Liebniz, you nibble the chocolate off, starting at the edges. Jaffas, you eat around the jelly, peeling the chocolate off with your teeth, leaving the jelly til last. Glad me and my diabetes could help. ;-)
Great video, really enjoyed it, its good to see somebody who's lived in the UK and then brought back their favourites to share. Your mum is awesome, those chocolate oranges are great.
You can't eat only 1..you have to eat the whole bow..It says so..(somewhere I'm sure)..Anyway..it's the law and you can go to prison if you don't,so feel free..
This video is so cute - I love your mum and her enthusiasm! Also, Cadbury's in the US is made by Hershey's so it doesn't taste as good which is why they got imports of real Cadbury's chocolate banned :(
Hey, loved the video! seeing as you seem to be a Cadburys fan I thought you might like to know there's a Cadburys factory in the UK where you can go for day trips and go on factory tours, whilst also tasting every variation of dairy milk imaginable! Just a thought if you're ever in England again!
You both made me smile so much watching this. Cadburys is so the best chocolate. You have such a good chemistry online. Thanks for posting. Just a tip for you... biscuits describes any small crunchy disk but different biscuits have names that are iconic. Digestives are a brand name and they are a particular type of biscuit. Supermarkets have their own brands of digestives but most people agree that the best is by a company called mcvitties. (Check the spelling on that). Cookies are also a name for a type of biscuit. Love hearing what your guys call things. Xx
+Simon Rhodes I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice. I've seen dozens of Americans eating Jaffa cakes. 80% of them eat them upside down. I've even heard them say "It's like sponge, with like, orange jello and chocolate on the UNDERSIDE." I can't explain why this would be their first instinct. I've seen the exact same thing with chocolate digestives and party rings. Weird!
+Simon Rhodes It's so that when you put it on your mouth, the part with the flavour hits your tongue rather than the bland part. I'm English with an American girlfriend, and it's one of the many small cultural differences that weird me out. They've also never heard of buttering their bread when they make sandwiches, and yet they call themselves a civilised country.
Excellent, good humoured fun. Liked & subscribed. Good to see some quality sweets & biscuits being enjoyed & appreciated in the USA. BTW: Kinder eggs & Balhsen Choco Leibniz are both German, but have been widely available here for so long, they're part of UK culture too. Choco Leibniz are superb biscuits & are great with a good, strong coffee. You almost become honorary Brits for wearing the paper crowns. Keep up the good work!!
This made me laugh so much as the mum was getting more and more sloshed during the clip, you couldn't tell by her comments so much, but by the slow gradual glazed look that she started to develop in her eyes, that'll be the wine and chocolate mix, gets you every time!...
Nice video, your mom handles it all well. It's surprising so many of those are not available in the U.S. We can get a lot in Canada, I grew up in York, England where the Terry's factory was, it was a great school trip with loads of treats to take home with a Terry's Orange.
I hate it when people call dilute "pop". Pop is a fizzy drink, not still. The bubbles pop, hence the name pop... In fact I hate the term "pop" for any drink, fizzy or still. :)
Jaycie Leigh the proper name for squash is cordial. Pop, is only ever fizzy, hence calling it pop. I believe you call pop soda for some reason. for us in Britain soda is simply fizzy carbonated water... soda water.
Hi Kim. That's a really interesting video and it's nice to see you got to try our sweets and biscuits from the UK. I saw another of your videos and am really surprised at the number of comments from my own people about eating biscuits upside down. I must say I've never ever noticed that there was a correct way of eating them over here. Just like you I've always eaten them with the chocolate end facing down. I've always felt like an odd-ball in my country but never knew that I was *that* odd, haha. On a side note, I visited your country for the first time last year and noticed some differences myself :).
To the question about the squash: Originally they were squeezed fruit juice into water waaaaay back in the day when they thought that the amount of natural sugar in oranges/apples/etc was the prime cause for damaging children's teeth (ignoring the amount of chocolate available at the time). As such they created a juice drink that required a water addition, late this was refined into a more concentrated mixture that is best served with water with a mix of flavors.
What a delightful pair you are! Love the way your Mum drives back into the packet with indecent haste, pulls a face of orgasmic pleasure, and then takes a swig of red wine. What a woman! You've restored my faith in Americans.
Im a Kiwi, living in Aussie....we have a lot of those things (Brit colony etc) but we always refer to squash as in fruit fizzies...with actual fruit in it. I think the word squash came from the squashing of the fruit to make the drink....probably why I dont see raspberry or strawberry squash...but see an abundance of lemon, orange or tropical squash.
One of the best things I've seen on YT for ages. I love you both! You're adorable - you should be on Gogglebox - but Leibnitz... Not British and definitely not digestives. :)
You are not the first Americans I've viewed trying our chocolate,so your reaction comes out as being an honest reaction, which is informative, and pleasing to view. Can also understand you being pleased to try your Mums reaction.Mum,being our expression, where yours is MOM?Think I'm enjoying your Mums reaction,as you are.
The digestives you were eating are not digestives, and they are meant to be eaten with coffee, but it was a cool video and your mum seems lovely. love form the UK
i love your mum!! and i hate when people say bad stuff just because they want to defend there country and this why i loved this video because you both loved everything and i loved your mums face when she tried the chocolate orange xoxox
your mum's reaction to the chocolate orange made me smile. Sadly Cadbury has been taken over by an American company and have changed the recipe and it's now a lot sweeter. There is nothing better than drinking wine and eating chocolate!
I'm so glad you and your mum like our stuff. I'm always interested to find out what you Americans think. Best of all- you're the first person who thought to buy Terry chocolate oranges! Definite heaven for chocolate lovers. By the way, I love your mum's accent! So soothing to listen to
Thanks for the video. I used to eat boxes of Maltesers when I was a child about 60 years ago. I used to go to the cinema and eat a box of them while watching the movie. BTW. Kinder eggs are German. Dip the Jammie Dodgers in the hot tea. McVities chocolate digestive biscuits are good dipped in hot tea. Not for too long or it will break and fall in the tea.
Loved this video and the fun you and your mum had together! I always thought squash was called squash because they squash the fruit to make it! Squash is a verb meaning to press into a flat mass or pulp; crush.
We just call it Squash or juice. i call it juice but we switch from one to other. Squash (also called cordial (only for lime) "or dilute) is a non-alcoholic concentrated syrup used in beverage making. It is usually fruit-flavoured, made from fruit juice, water, and sugar or a sugar substitute.
loved loved this video !!! Your mom is hysterical...I've lived over here in the states for 35 years and I miss the good old sweets/chocolate from home...brilliant video.
you guys are awesome, you are both so cool, it is so lovely to see how close you are, and how well you two get along, the whole video was brilliant, I really enjoyed watching it:) xx
Omg thank you so much from being so polite and curious over our British biscuits and chocolate! I've seen loads of American videos where they really over react when it comes to our chocolate and sweets! I have so much respect! So happy you enjoyed our things!!✌🏼️😚
For*
Brit here. 1 - I don't know why this is in my recommendations. 2 - I don't know why I watched it. 3 - I don't know why I enjoyed it so much, but I really did. Had my first Hershey Bar after a childhood of seeing them in movies and was gutted. They're rank.
Yes agree, taste and texture like sweeteners infused with lard! Glad they loved our choc's
Hershey bars; used to see them advertised in US comics and thought they sounded the business - from what I've heard since, they're not really.
They're rank
Funny stuff ur mums reaction to the chocolate orange was brilliant - respect from England
My night time snack. At least two a week.😊
Since Cadburies was purchased / taken over by Kraft in America it has started to go downhill.
They changed the recipe for the Cadbury Cream Egg and also have tried to sweaten every thing by adding candy pieces to it.
Why change something, that isn't broken? :-(
+David Bilson also reduced the product weight of many items while increasing the price.
Dont eat Cadbury stuff anymore, Galaxy chocolate is the best.
their sales dropped like 80% lol
David Bilson
This is what happens when you fcuk with perfection, it's worked for 100+ years.
So right, David Bilson, it seems to me they are trying to make a 'Schlitz'!
This is one of the best videos I've seen on eating British snacks. Ya'll have good taste and you haven't even scratched the surface yet.
Gawk your mum makes me smile and laygh❤️❤️ she seems so nice and her reaction is👌🏻
I love her accent =P
Your mum is awesome and she's quite correct, being a Brit I can confirm that jammie Dodgers are nice with a spot of tea 😊
I'm going with a 6th sense on that one. You don't have jammie dodgers without tea.
...except that I've never EVER heard any British people use the phrase: "a spot of tea".
Also as a Brit I tried Jammie Dodgers years ago and I didn't like it but idk how I feel about them now
Literally smiled the whole way through watching that.
I love the terrys Choco orange too especially when it’s been placed in the fridge for a while..loved your mums reaction that’s how I expect reaction vids to be ecstattic
my heart broke when she pulled out the biscuits and called them digestives...
Emily Buckland those are not digestives..
Emily Buckland they are rich tea liabnitz
and not british sorry
Every Brit was scratching their head going WTF.
I felt like you was pulling the strings of my heart while eating that jaffa cake upside down *crys*
Americans always seem to eat jaffa cakes upside down for some reason.
To be fair if an American saw how we Brits treat Oreos ever since they were introduced over here they would die a little inside. I think you are meant to pull them apart and eat them with milk but we just dunk them in our tea so they go soft and gooey.
Oreo are horrible, I don't understand all the hype - they just taste like cheap cookies
mark layton correct they are just shite Bourbon biscuits eaten by cunts.fact
That's not upside down! wtf! I've always eaten my Jaffa cakes like that. Have I been living a lie?
The part about digestives hurt me haha. They weren't digestives, digestives say 'digestives' on the packet
If you watch Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman the old woman in the film calls them Diggies as she said Digestive is such an ugly name for a biscuit..
They Rich Tea biscuits, with chocolate.
+Mark Farmer there German biscuits same as kinder
Yes, the name Liebnitz tells you that they're GERMAN. Digestives are FAR BETTER. Plain with tea or milk chocolate... ...with tea, too. Did they actually discover that the Kinder Eggs held TOYS inside the inner containers?
Spot on they are.your correct
As a Brit living in the US I can only applaud your efforts to educate your family. Great job! Fox's are my favorite brand, btw.
The line "having these with a spot of tea" was not offensive ;)
Much love from the UK
Love your Mum. Candy, and wine to clear the palette, epic.
In America you can have a machine gun but not a Kinder egg. :P
now now..this is a nice subject and two lovely people...
It's more difficult for a small child to choke on an AR15.
But a Kinder egg cant kill 50 kids in a school :/
Nor a haggies😊
And an AR 15 isn't a machine gun or assault rifle AR stands for Armalite Rifle as it was an armalite design copied by colt and it is semi-automatic meaning it only fires as fast as you pull the trigger.
🥺🥺 your mum is so precious and very appreciative 🥰 it's adorable.
...You guys seem to be really good friends!...your loyalty to British 'candy' is 'awesome'!! Let me know when you run out of your goodies, and I'll see that you get some more!! I love watching people appreciate treats I've just grown accustomed to, it's like enjoying second hand appreciation for things that just seem normal to me.
Those arent Digestives. Digestives are the round ones with 'Digestive' on the packet.. They're just biscuits.
this!
Well you could call them a type of ' French style rich tea with chocolate on top'
goodall1bay I mean you could. You'd be wrong, but you could.
I think that they're an Austrian or a German biscuit, the company Liebniz comes to mind.
Omds.. She called those digestives oh my days 🤣😭

Great vid am from UK ! Your mam is great .
She's so right about the Terry's chocolate orange. Hard to stop eating it.

Glad me and my diabetes could help. ;-)
slayerrocks2 exactly
Well said
I do it as well
slayerrocks2 spoken like a boss
what is wrong with you?! You can't go around break the rules like that. Its criminal!
I'd start with the biccy sponge side up and nibble away until just the jelly and choc were left - save the best 'til last.
slayerrocks2 oh my god! That's exactly how I eat Jaffa cakes and so the best way. Perfect!
there is just so many "aww dang mom" that makes my heart warm in this
Great video, really enjoyed it, its good to see somebody who's lived in the UK and then brought back their favourites to share. Your mum is awesome, those chocolate oranges are great.
Opening the chocolate orange: so adorable!!
Never thought of eating a jaffa cake that way up,,, maybe that could work choc straight on tongue !
Your mum is a bundle of laughs, I like her.
You guyz. cheersing squash. wearing dem paper hats. Talking about the technicalities of the digestive. British points galore.
Haha thanks, even if I ate the Jaffa cake upside down I think I still did well ^_^
your mum is awesome! you and her taste testing things is hilariously brilliant!
I try not to eat jaffa cakes, when I have 1, I can't help but have the rest
You can't eat only 1..you have to eat the whole bow..It says so..(somewhere I'm sure)..Anyway..it's the law and you can go to prison if you don't,so feel free..
so true man I love them proper British
funny
This is a treat I keep watching this over and over, it makes me happy.
This video is so cute - I love your mum and her enthusiasm! Also, Cadbury's in the US is made by Hershey's so it doesn't taste as good which is why they got imports of real Cadbury's chocolate banned :(
Your mum is adorable! I love her accent. It's always so funny seeing Americans 'trying' our snacks.
6:39 Must have with Tea! Need dunkin for at least 5 seconds.
I feel like I should send your mum a box of Terry's chocolate orange as her reaction was priceless
She didn't bang the orange on the table to separate it
They didn't open the fucking kinder toys!!
Tap it, unwrap it...
Hey, loved the video! seeing as you seem to be a Cadburys fan I thought you might like to know there's a Cadburys factory in the UK where you can go for day trips and go on factory tours, whilst also tasting every variation of dairy milk imaginable! Just a thought if you're ever in England again!
they're eating the Jaffa cakes upsidedown! hahs
I relate to your mom's excitement about the chocolate orange haha! This was a fun video. You're making me want to go buy lots of chocolate now.
They do sell those orange balls chocolate here in the US they are usually around Christmas time
Terry's chocolate orange as they are known here
The wine break was so relatable! 1 million thumbs up 😂
MUHA HA HA the british are taking over
You both made me smile so much watching this.
Xx
Great video but why or why do Americans eat their biscuits upside down.
Like the Jaffa cakes
I'm British but I had no idea there was an upside down to biscuits. Strange!
I've noticed that too. In all the videos like this I've seen they do the same thing. It's weird.
I love how Mum is cleaning her palette with wine. Baller.
we also have gum with temporary tattoos
I was just about to comment that.😂
Excellent, good humoured fun.
Loved this video but "digestives" NO they were foreign chocolate biscuits more like a rich tea biscuit covered with a chocolate coating !
This made me laugh so much as the mum was getting more and more sloshed during the clip, you couldn't tell by her comments so much, but by the slow gradual glazed look that she started to develop in her eyes, that'll be the wine and chocolate mix, gets you every time!...
For some reason your mother reminds me of a famous british comedy actress. Also you look so alike!
Kathy Burke? 😂
ACook94 YES!!
Me too.
Nice video, your mom handles it all well. It's surprising so many of those are not available in the U.S. We can get a lot in Canada, I grew up in York, England where the Terry's factory was, it was a great school trip with loads of treats to take home with a Terry's Orange.
Is anyone here actually from the UK?? I am
Unknown Wheels Me ☝️...Nottingham
Unknown Wheels yorkshire :) too poor for real jaffa cakes here 😂😂
south shields :)
Bournemouth!
san diego..
It's called squash because it's condensed and concentrated ... Squashed! Glad you loved it BTW you and your Mum and so cute together.
Wait, YOU DONT HAVE SQUASH?! I thought everywhere had squash, just like everywhere has water. What do you drink instead?
Americans live on Soda/Pop
We dont call it squash either in Glasgow just say Robinsons.. coke, irn bru etc is ginger to us
I hate it when people call dilute "pop".
I believe you call pop soda for some reason. for us in Britain soda is simply fizzy carbonated water... soda water.
I'm British and I don't even use the term Squash. It's Cordial here.
Im so glad you like our snacks :) and just goes to show how much sugar the u.s puts in food cos that stuff is sweet to us!
Your Mom !!! I thought she was your sister !!
The Terrys Orange....hit the whole orange in the wrapper off a counter to split the segments. and enjoy...love your mum
When you look the same age as your mother...
Hi Kim. That's a really interesting video and it's nice to see you got to try our sweets and biscuits from the UK. kinder is my favourite especially the maxi fingers.and the schloko bons are pretty sweet too.
To the question about the squash: Originally they were squeezed fruit juice into water waaaaay back in the day when they thought that the amount of natural sugar in oranges/apples/etc was the prime cause for damaging children's teeth (ignoring the amount of chocolate available at the time). Love u wearing the hats! thanks for embracing our UK traditions :)
Thank you for trying our sweets and snacks 😊 your mum is such a lovely lady 👍🏻 🇬🇧
This is my fave british candy reaction video! Your mum is awesome!
Probably the best reaction vid of this type I've seen, nice job ladies 👍
Chocolate orange reactionis lovely! They are nice.
Im from the UK and i think you guys are hilarious and you come across as really best friends as well.
Love how mum gets more and more sozzled as the video goes on 😂😂😂🍾🍾🍾 and they weren't digestives...
Omg I love your mum! Sending you love from lil old England 💖
Mums face when she tried the chocolate orange... priceless! :) You should have taken some Victory V for everyone to try!
I love the way that Mum is clearing her palette with red wine! :-)
your mum's reaction to the chocolate orange made me smile. Sadly Cadbury has been taken over by an American company and have changed the recipe and it's now a lot sweeter. There is nothing better than drinking wine and eating chocolate!

I am 7 years too late but watching your mum get tipsier by the minute was hilarious and I loved her taste reactions.
I love your mom!! she is adorable!!
Gotta say your mum is awesome!
Your mums and right laugh. Like a fun lady
Thanks for the video. I used to eat boxes of Maltesers when I was a child about 60 years ago. I used to go to the cinema and eat a box of them while watching the movie. BTW. Kinder eggs are German. I love your mum's reaction to the chocolate orange
The way the mum reacts to a normal Terry's Chocolate Orange says a lot about the standard of US chocolate.
