"You wouldn't think Glasgow was one of the first ten holiday destinations in Europe .. And you'd be right "
That one killed me .
I thought of Jeremy Clarkson for some reason when I heard that.
Lol
I laughed obnoxiously there. His timing was awesome.
The Gáidhlig one has me in bits lol
"Most people speak the Queen's English... that is if the Queen had a serious case of Tourettes". I spat my tea at that one.
What is it with Scotland & Tourettes jokes ? Recent furor again at the Dave awards. What a hoot !
Finally got the basis for the T jokes. Duh ! The Scots talk as if they all had Tourettes.
LOL
@Rob Spore
Your pic is of the missing people poster.😂🙆🤦
clearly demonstrates Scotland best asset - a unique and great sense of humour - lol
+Hooch nah, their sense of humour, among just about everything else, is shared by the rest of britain and ireland but heres where their true merits lay - they take it further and are less prone to falter. its like theyre the last bastion of the britons. there are pockets in england and wales but the scots have held fastest. long may it continue.
im english and, as such, it may sound sycophantic but fuck that. i like these isles and their folk and i dont give a fuck about the the uk. long live ireland, scotland, wales and england and god save these isles!
+synchc From your mouth to God's ear, mate! Long may the isles prosper. We in the States loove ye all.
Tim Mungenast i hate to be the downer but its right. london's prosperity was england's downfall and its happening again across the ocean. strong feelings for you lot but take care.
Sarcasm is the other.
Hooch ha ha. Good one. I lived there for 5 years, didn’t come across anyone with a sense of humour.
`Im from America` *Glass breaks* ` WANKER! ` That part cracked me up
That was the best part.
Panzer Kamper here as well😀
Joshua Tumambo you're probably a Canadian. They feel worse about Canadians.
MrAllthatnmore nah canada’s sound
Jealousy is an ugly cologne. So suits the scotts.
I'm on vacation at Scotland while watching this, I regret nothing
Scotland has unique anti-terrorism:
"we'll set aboot ye...." 😂
This was my favourite 🤣🤣
Can somebody translate this to English please??

Best punchline about serial killers ever uttered.

I live in Glasgow, and I approve of this message :)
What part of Glasgow, cuz i'm from Motherwells!

No I'm not a football fan .... Formula 1 & Rugby for me :)

I thought this was going to be a boring professional guide to Scotland but its way more epic xD
😆
"or the sound of a musical instrument" .. aw man that's my favourite
Love Scotland. It's absolutely beautiful.
And ah. The sass. Nowhere does sass as well as the British Isles. So dry, so sarcastic... it's perfect in every way, and Scotland is the crowning glory of that.
As a Dundonian, I'm delighted with the portrayal of our fair city here.
I've been to Scotland twice, fuckin' loved it! I only met one sane person there the whole time and he was the cop that frisked me in the airport. Stayed in Glasgow one time and had a blast. Played a gig in some place called Fat Boab's in Kincardine..which was like an open lunatic asylum and toured about off the beaten track around Saltcoats and a few other spots. Great people, and well worth a visit. All the best from Ireland.
I'm an Australian of Scottish decent. Visiting Scotland is the one thing I wanna do before I die and this vid has given me so much more incentive. Cheers, Danny.. You're a fuckin legend!
Did you ever visit Scotland?
Beware the Agony Bags with pipes.
I'll swap ye hooses if yer still interested? You come live in Edinburgh and I'll take your pad in Oz! 😂🏴❤🇦🇺😄
The Fred West joke made me laugh for longer than I'm used to.
@@iamnormal8648 Fred West was a murderer who buried his victims in his garden.
i got the joke even without knowing who he was and what he did lmao! my brain automatically went for "he must be a serial killer burying bodies in backyard" and laughed out
And here I thought Scotland only consisted of masses of people in track suits engaging in melee combat with a horse militia on a soccer field.
facts about ur mum That is Russia, except for the soccer field' part
That's only at the weekends.
I thought that was just Fife
What's soccer?
We know football.
@@nfspbarrister5681 Scotland it’s fitbaw
Lived in Auld Reekie for four years...am still homesick for it. Best place on earth!!
my first meal in Scotland was from a Bulgarian fish and chip shop in Aberdeen.
I'm from Dundee. The half second snippet of one of the signs was more than it deserved, lol
Sounds like you're pretty done with Dundee 🤣
"It's often said you don't know what's in your own back yard, unless your Fred West" LOL so dark
All the jokes aside, I always liked Scotland. The bagpipes, the mountains, the free spirit of it's people...
Free Spirit? Nah Hollyrood taxed that...
The heroin
Are yee drunk man!
That was the funniest thing I have ever seen on you tube. I couldn't stop laughing!
I really do want to go to Scotland now.
counterproductive to the very point of this video
I myself am from Scotland and it is a beautiful place (in some places). But i found this very entertaining
+Georgia Prior :: I think in this season ,the best countries for traveling are Iran & India , you can see rare birds & Animals and amazing forests in Caspian sea ,And even Persian Cuisines and Indian Cuisines are great,..I know these countries very well because I have traveled to many remote areas in both countries
Only 33 seconds in and I'm laughing my ass off already! Excellent to have him come out in the rain for a promo to go to a country.
I was planning to visit Scotland one day. Then I came across this video while looking for more touristic information. I want to visit it even more now 😂 . Cheers from Argentina !
The first note of the bagpipe did send a shiver down my spine, favorite instrument..
i'm from Macedonia by the way, and Scottish music is awesome :D
I'm incredibly proud of my roots and of Scotland too.
" A wee Scouser. "
BUD MAC.
Too right! The cheek on that Bhoy! I LOVE IT!
"You wouldn't think Glasgow was one of the top 10 holiday destinations in Europe.... and you'd be right"
LOL.
Pure dead brilliant. Ain't got any other way to describe this.
@Volksverhetz Danny Bhoy is a great example of an upstanding Scotsman. Some scots were from Northern Europe & walked here dry shod across a not yet existing North Sea 14,000 years ago. More Scots came from the Iberian Peninsula 8,000 years ago. We had North Africans who came with the Romans who also brought us Rumanian and Bulgarian stock. Vikings (Scandinavians), Normans (French), Angles, Saxons, Italians, Chinese, Indian, Pakistan all make up the country. This is Scotland & we love it.
Oh god Dundee
The teen-pregnancy capital of Europe
That's scumdee for ya haha
MasterAtheistic no way haha
Also the drugs death capital of Europe!
(I still love Dundee though)
It's like the southern Confederate states of the USA
Dundee was never the drugs death capital of Europe, neither was Edinburgh, even though Trainspotting promulgated that image of our capital, but sadly you are true about the first claim. I can't remember the year (maybe 1994?) but it was found in a study of European cities that Dundee had the highest prevalence of teen pregnancies. Not exactly a feather in our cap :/
Just heard about this guy tonight - about 2 hrs ago on Montreal radio - and can't get enough of him...hilarious!
This makes me miss Scotland oh so very much, had such an amazing time there and met so many awesome people! Also...Haggis, not so bad really :)
The opening scene with the lovely weather sold me.
I come from a gaelic speaking community ........you should visit us sometime ....... you'll love it .
born in south africa, lived in england all my life, just finishing my first year at Edinburgh University. I love Scotland, Edinburgh is an amazing city, would love to live here!
My wife and I spent 3 weeks there this year visiting before unmet relatives and making new friends. We had a great time and the natives made fun of my Texas accent while I teased them about theirs. We plan to go back as soon as possible.
Glad to hear it, friend :) Every society everywhere has it's share of delinquents and layabouts but Scots in general are friendly people, it stems from a code we have had that dates back more than a millennia - that any person in your "home" should be treated as a welcomed guest, even if they are your enemy. The 'Glencoe Massacre' in the 17th century where many of clan MacDonald were killed by clan Campbell became known as 'slaughter by trust' since one warring party welcomed the other into their homes believing their guests would honour the code. That incident turned the Campbell clan into pariahs as it was unheard of for a Scot to betray the code, let alone against fellow Scots.
Sadly, this virtuous part of our history is not known to most modern day Scots unless they have taken an interest in their own history, as I do, but thankfully the idea that "every person in your home should be treated as a friend" seems to have permeated down through our culture to the present day. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope you do come back and enjoy another.
HaHa! Even after 17 years in Germany, my Texas accent dominates, and the Krauts loved making fun of it!
lol.Never been there but love all things Scottish. My grandad still got his accent and passed down traditions thru the family..Aye even inherited a taste for laphroag..Proud of my Scottish roots..Jason Mckenzie(New Zealand)
Haha, this makes me wanna visit Scotland even more. Brilliant!
that is exactly what makes glasgow a great town. never boring.
I would kill for some giant scab and chopped arshole right now. Love them both but they are nowhere to be found in these parts of Canada. :(
really? you can at least find the giant scab in any Irish pub in the country, or any worth its salt
Not where I am in New Brunswick.. Best I can find locally is Acadien Blood Pudding. And sadly, it just isn't the same.
well if you're ever in Halifax, Durty Nellys does a good full irish
I might have to enlist a friend to drive me to Hali. Not that far from Moncton.
Thanks for the tip Alex!
Ah ! I had relatives in Dieppe then, they moved near Ottawa. Shediac's mascot was my favorite so was Hopewell Rocks.
I went to Glasgow University for a year....and oddly....this brings back many fond memories. This is the Scotland I love and fled.
Gaelic is the traditional language spoken here in scotland however it is rarely used outside of communities rife with incest.

As someone from the isle of Skye I can confirm this
@@kayleighinglis5861 hoots fae Edinburgh! 💙👋🏴👋💙
Im pretty sure the isle of lewis has like 3 total surnames.
Did a road trip in Scotland in 2018 (Edinburgh and the Highlands). Two weeks 20°C, sun and blue sky. One of the best trips of my life.
The taste of the Mediterranean : salt
😂😂😂
The taste of England:Hot water, the best spice ever!
Nope fresh herbs salt is only in so called mediterranian Restaurants outside italy
My family originates in Scotland and now lives in Canada. From one barren cold hard atmospheric paradise to another.
Hilarious vid and solid Scots sense of humor. I happen to love haggis on toast with my neeps and tatties but never been a big fan of black pudding, AKA scabs.
Free Scotland black pudding is nasty.
Free Scotland try it wae beans mate
I'm Scottish through and through but the idea of eating dried blood irks me even more than the thought of eating brussel sprouts.
I love scotland, ive lived here all my life (16 years) and i probebly always will hehe. It may be cold but its beautiful. I love Danny Bhoy he is so funny.
Emma x
lol that was hilarious! I really like this guy. he is so funny.
i would not normally click on and ad for Scotland but i saw Danny Bhoy and i laugh non stop cheers
You dont know whats in your own back yard..unless you are Fred West..lol
@Amunication - you can hear the "Irish pipes" in the intro music, they called uilleann pipes. Scottish bagpipes are @ 1:43. Uilleann pipes are just played under the elbow (no mouth piece). Much softer sound, can be listened to indoors!
I love Danny that was brilliant!!!
Went to Scotland in 1984. Had a great time prowling around the country on the wonderful train system. Even sat and played cribbage on the train to Perth with a Falklands War veteran who had a steel plate in his skull. He won the damned game … Scottish super powers? Or steel plate could sense my cards? Regardless, when you live in Canada, Scotland in October is like summer! Great video, Danny!
"You may start to hear what sounds like someone fucking a cat!" XD This guy is awesome.
Sounds like I'll be warmly welcomed when I visit. Thanks!
Fookin' brilliant, this!
The way the camera zooms in a wee bit when he says "WHERE YOU'RE FROM" is brilliant 🤣
I got a similar reaction to my accent in a pub when I was visiting. Not quite as extreme as in this video, but it was still a reaction. lol
When you hear that first note, it does send a shiver down your spine 🤣 i frankly enjoy listening to bagpipes, but YES at the very beginning of the songs there's always a moment of total disconnect
Literally Finland
It's why my girlfriend loves it here
Ratzler I really want to go to Finland, glad to know I won't miss home too much!
Absolutely, fabulously brilliant!!!!
I just recently discovered you.You are funny as heck. And so darn cute!
I'm studying abroad in Scotland right now and I kept going, "I've been there!... I know that place!... Hey, that's (blank)!... Oh, I remember that!... Hey, I'm going there next week!"
Also, I happen to like the bagpipes. And the brogue. *rawr*
I love how Scottish people make fun of themselves. You've got great sense of humour)
Btw, I love Edinburgh ❤
Oh Danny, I've such a fan since well don't know exactly for how long but many a year! Keep on cracking me up! Love from The Netherlands!
Excellent!! 6 years as a Geordie living in Glasogow - made me laugh my cock off.
pay back for everyone rippin on your accent?
this effing KILLS me. I'm a Canadian doing a year exchange at a Scottish university, and can see a lot of these things as true (to some degree ;) My family and I have loved Danny for some time now--seeing him live on Tuesday and can't wait!!
I’m from Fiji, my wife Scottish...... so I put this on to show my three boys about their Scottish side....... the spear chucking side seems more fascinating to them now......🤦🏻♂️
I remember he played this at the start of his gig a few years ago at the Festival, never laughed so much in my life because it's so bloody true :)
"Whull set aboot ye"
That clip was of John Smeaton, the guy who stopped a terrorist attack in Glasgow in 2007. A terrorist rammed a car full of burning gas cylinders into Glasgow airport and upon exiting his vehicle - while he was on fire - John punched him in the face, padded out the flames on his burning clothing and then set about hitting him some more. His interviews became internet memes because in an interview he said "If you start that shite up here we'll set aboot ye!" 'Setting about' someone means jumping on and attacking them.
Incidentally Jihadis never tried again, I imagine the image of a Scottish guy beating the shit out of a burning terrorist stuck with them.
As I recall Smeaton also booted the burning terrorist right in his jihadicles..
And there was never a terrorist attack in scotland since... Wonder why.
@@krashd ahahahahaaaa! That is THE BEST!!! Thank you for this explanation...I don't know how I ever missed that story. Brilliant.
I've always wanted to go to Scotland. And now, I want to go even more!
Me, too. I spent 17 years in Germany, and visited a great deal of Europe, but never made it to Scotland. Verdammte Scheisse! :)
I dunno why Scottish are always on about the amount of rain. I lived there for 5 years and all I saw was occasional light rain. It’s the grey sky and lack of sun and blue sky that gets you down.
I'm going to study in Aberdeen for a year starting this September, and after watching this...I CANT WAIT
a place worth visiting and the best accent hehe
naveen kala Wit the fuck you oan aboot?
Excellent, only seeing this 8 years too late. Very true but every few years we get a year like this year, which has just been stunning sunshine and amazing autumn and now winter colours which makes up for the 6 years of shite weather we have put up with.
hahaaha Wow... grand sense of humour, produced by tourism dept. Bowled over by Scotland, camping in areas without cell signal... Bliss.
this past summer (in july 2010) i visited some family in glasgow (im from toronto, ON). it was sucha nice visit, and i enjoyed shopping and downtown glasgow to the bars! i will definatly go back :)
Seriously DOES NOT GET ANY FUNNIER!! I'm sore from laughter when ever I watch anything of his! I agree clips are way WAY to short! Need more!!
😂 Danny Bhoy is a true gem of comedy!
I actually like haggis quite a bit and want to go to Scotland.
the greatest wee country in the world :)
Kevin Meisenbacher hope ye like rain mate
had some in a BBQ style recently, more tolerable than the usual, but prefer a single malt liquid lunch to haggis anytime.
+Uncle Keith from tropical country next from yer colony down under. rain does not scare me! ;)
Those who live there are sooo lucky! Wish I would have had the guts to move there.
"jew-hating mel gibson" LMAO
I mean, it’s an accurate descriptor.
He is, without a doubt, the funniest comedian around today. I saw him live in Toronto a few years ago, hilarious.
i learnt everything i needed to know about Scotlands culture and language from Rab C Nesbitt.
on a side note: this couldve been funnier seeing as Danny is quite funny.
Him "tasting" the Haggis and then going "mhmmmmm" had me in tears... :D
Dude. LMAO. Someone has to do one like this about the USA
Looks like a bit of Billy Connelly snuck in on Airport security. We'll set about you. :) I remember it from his stand-up. Danny is wonderful too. I love both emencely.
i had haggis when i went to scotland. delicious
does it smell like urine? or was it just mine?
no not at all. maybe they didn't know how to make it. sorry you had a bad experience though, that sucks
key2010 The taste of haggis always depends on your accent. If you have an English or American accent, then there's a good chance that the chef pissed in your haggis! ;)
Haggis is awesome!
i know right?
We enjoyed Scotland! One of our best ever vacations.
4:00 - 4:13 is the best line in comedy
Any signal yet? 😂🤣 gassed out laughing 😂
Haggis is actually quite tasty if anyone is wondering.
It has to be for people to go through eating all those shitty ingredients.

My granny called playing bagpipes “squeezing the cat” any time I hear the pipes start up I hear granny.
1:03 what did he say?? xD
RUclips CC says "You share about you." ...whatever that means.
"We'll set about you", it's John smeaton, he kicked a burning jihadist in the balls at Glasgow airport XD
yes, they mistook him for a Greenpeace protester.
Northern_Norse_ Celt
That's a brave guy.
We'll set about ya.
Brilliant, just sheer comedic illumination 🤣🤩🤣
To be fair, American hot dogs are also made of animal parts most people wouldn't think to eat. (including pigs' anus)
Lol! I grew up with that sound. The Bag Pipers were the bomb in my HS! The whole band was! It was weird, the geeks were popular, as were the band members who traveled to England and Scotland every year to play. I played piano, but I should have been in Color Guard damn it!My HS was topsy turvy in that way...but the band members didn't get bullied, they were envied.
I'm from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in case you were wondering.
