The barber shop they are playing out the front of is still there under the railway bridge at Burwood Station in Sydney... across the road from Westfield Shopping Centre. 😎😎
story goes jane barnes found diesel playing in the pubs and she introduced him to jimmy, diesel then married jane's sister, jep after jane and jimmy set them up
Grew up with my older sister in love with him posters everywhere the man is an Aussie idol I don’t know anyone that doesn’t like him or won’t sing along to his tunes
Dude is one of the greats! Fell in love with this very first time i heard it....and followed everything he has done since. I am a fan of many musos from Elmore James to Elvis to Prince andvof course Barnsey...but when Diesel hit the scene.... man....i wanted to be him...the look, the style, the guitar playing, the voice and the song writing. He is the real deal. Terribly under appreciated talent in my opinion. 53 now, and still rock out to this great mans tunes. 🎸🤘😎
Diesel has aged like fine wine, and his live version of this is fantastic. I live in a part of Australia that has very few music acts travel that far. Everytime Diesel comes to town, I damn well make sure I got my tickets. 😂
went to a 60 thousand peeps concert here in nz...the bill was knightshade..noiseworks(John stevens). diesel and the injectors and bon jovi headline...diesel put them all to shame!!!
Diesel is a firecracker of a musician! Never thought of him as a James Dean type - but he's very quietly spoken, and when I saw him live, he hardly ever looked at the audience, so maybe you're right 😅
Haha yeh saxophones were everywhere in the late 80s, Tina Turner had that big dude touring the world, Clarence in the E street band, Eurythmics, Lost Boys Movie could go on! Pony Boy Diesel😉 Johnny Diesel and the Injectors was a great Driving Album.
Johnny Diesel and the Injectors was the headline of my first ever concert experience. The support act was also great, they were a local band called The Poor Boys, they had a little harder edge than Diesel and had a minor hit with "More wine, waiter, please", they had to change their name to ""The Poor" to release it outside Australia, so they did.
🗣Was Chatting with Mark (Diesel) on Instagram a couple of months ago and chatted about his Injectors tour through my home town ! lol.... Soul Revival, Dig , Master plan & many more 🤘💯🔥
Mark Lizotte, known professionally as Diesel, is Jimmy Barnes' brother-in-law (they married sisters). Diesel often plays with Jimmy. In fact, you have reacted to more of his work than you realise. Diesel has far less hair these days. Don't Need Love was his debut single released in 1989.
Johnny Deisel (Mark Lizotte played guitar for Jimmy Barnes(post Cold Chisel), along with a host of great guitarists, including Mal Eastic). Yes, Mark married Barnesy's wifes', sister.
O em gee did I love Diesel as a youngster ... such a heart throb. He hated that shit lol. He seemed much more comfortable in a non-lead-singer and attention role. Every single word of this song still came back to me lol
Hi Nic... so great to hear this again......I still know all of the words...Still have the CD of their album ❤ I've never thought of the comparison to Mark aka Diesel to James Dean but now I see it. I think he also looks a little similar to Johnny Depp at this stage. The band is great, and yep, we had a lot of sax in Aussie music ..... I love it but you don't hear it as much now. I think that's a shame as it does add so much to the sound. Wish I could have played the sax. Instead I played the French horn 😂
Okay, so johnny Diesel married Jimmy Barnes sister ( i think) so barnsey and desil are brother - Jimmy's brother-in-law to fellow musician and long-time collaborator Diesel, who married Jane Barnes's sister Jep in 1989.
The album was full of bangers that were on the radio in heavy rotation in country Qld back in the day, still turn the volume up any time I hear these songs.
never thought he looked like James Dean. This was a common look for guys in the late 80's - early 90's. Johnny Depp, the guys from Beverly Hills 90210. (I'm sure there were more but I can't think who) I thought they were hot and had posters of them in my room. here's a live version ruclips.net/video/wXSYMFi7e_Y/видео.html
Just a slight correction, he is his brother-in-law ("The relationship would later become personal as well as professional, with Diesel and Barnes becoming brothers-in-law (by marriage) after Diesel married Jep (Jane Barnes' sister) in 1989.")
Actually, Diesel looks like a young Johnny Depp during his 21 Jump Street days.
Whenever I feel a bit low I watch your reaction to Barnsey and Farnsey and Diesel.

Best era of Aussie rock music for sure! 💚 🎸🎼🎷

I'm 53 and remember when this came out, and it's only just dawned on me how similar to John Cougar Mellencamp and his band they sound.
I just had that same epiphany about John Mellancamp! It didn't occur to me in the 90s but it's so obvious with this clip.

I loved Diesel's music when it first came out and then, a few years later, I discovered an *ahem* whole new appreciation of him when puberty hit. 😂😂
Yep, this was the song that introduced him.
Great song from an awesome era of Aussie rock.
Diesel is a firecracker of a musician! Never thought of him as a James Dean type - but he's very quietly spoken, and when I saw him live, he hardly ever looked at the audience, so maybe you're right 😅
I remember we used to play pool at the local pub in Sydney, and listen to Diesel on the Duke box

I love the fact that you are messaging Diesel. I could listen to him all day long.

I need a drink that knocks me off my feet
too many late nights, not enough sleep, more wine waiteeeerr!@@andrew7648
My favourite Diesel song is "Fifteen Feet of Snow". Worth checking out!
I saw in live in the 80s and man you cannot imagine how good this band was live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have this album on vinyl... 🙂
I remember hearing Johnny Diesel played in an American southern state in front of some players down there . Seemed to be appreciated to some extent.

I love that you are sitting there messaging him :D Have you watched the John Farnham film yet?
I saw him singing acoustic 🎉 incredible ❤
I believe James Dean was the look he was going for in those days.
I always thought he was more a young Johnny Depp than Jimmy Dean.
Pony Boy Curtis vibes 😂
Stay golden.

Diesel's voice sounds like Mellencamp in this song
I still have the 10" vinyl of this track. Odd size, great track.
So random have crying shame on the radio right now
You must be from Perth right?

The good old days when LIVE MUSIC was played every weekend in local pubs....what happened...why did that stop
That wasn't live that is the studio recorded hit version and film clip.

Jimmy Barne's brother. I'm sure you knew...

What if I told you the live version is exactly the same!
