It's called a shootout, Chels. Basically when two teams are tied at the end of a game and still don't win in overtime, they go to 5 on 5 (one at a time) shootouts. Whichever team scored the most on their shots wins the game.
Fun fact: There was a scene in the MLS (North American Soccer League) where a goalkeeper got hit by a shot with the ball in his face, by two meters. The commentator referenced this video and Studio C commented under the video. Edit: The MLS even called him "Nick 'Scott Sterling' Rimando". Now that is good marketing.
The three things about the final volleyball points: 1) Liberos (Defensive Specialists) (position Scott Sterling is playing) can't be captains. 2) Liberos cannot hit/receive any balls above the height of the net. 3) No player may enter the opponent's side of the court (which Sterling does when his teammates place him down).
One of my favourite descriptions "Obese homing pigeon"😂 Edit: Using your head counts as a hit, but is legal in volleyball. Can hurt like a b****, though. Same thing with using your foot. I'm not sure about physically lifting a teammate, though
I'm not sure about the foot. My understanding was if your foot was on the floor and the ball bounced off it, it was good, but not if your foot was in the air or moving. You can't kick the ball. I think any other part of the body is fine, though.
You misunderstand what's going on. It's not that the ball is attracted to Sterling's face, it's that Sterling's reflexes are so amazing that he always manages to defend penalty kicks in football or spikes in volleyball.... with his face. This is his amazing skill, not some curse. It's also amazing how dedicated he is to his sports, he plays so hard he often ends up in the hospital after his games. The stretcher is just some weird Yale inside joke, don't mind it.
The MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. SCOTT STERLIIIIIIIIIINGGGGG!!!! ALSO you gotta commend how these commentators are going absolutely insane cheering for Scott Sterling. He is the GOAT. xD
# 0001 This has that Goku punching Jeice repeatedly in the face kind of energy. Scott Sterling is clearly the face of sportsball worldwide! Also SWEET BUTTER CRUMPETS took me out! 🤣
Absolutely love studio c early days. You should have a peak at the shoulder angel and devil videos, pure comedy in my opinion which is probably mostly because Matt struggles a lot to climb on the other guys shoulder while they have to wait awkwardly😂😂😂
OH PLEASE Chelz do more Stuido C content reactions Especially those from season 1 to 9. No offense to the new cast, but the original 10 cast members had PERFECT comedic chemistry with each other. I tried watching some of the new stuff but it just didn't appeal to me. The original cast up to season 9 is Studio C golden era.
Just as a note on football, you can't sub when you get to the point of the shoot-out you can sub in your players even if there's usually backups for the goalkeeper, so one of the other players that where on the field on the last minute would need to take the position.
In volleyball, you can actually hit the ball with any part of your body. You're even allowed to kick it, as long it isn't perceived that you've caught the ball after the ball has been served. I also find it interesting that Sterling is both the captain of the volleyball team, and the team's libero (basically the defensive player that is required to ensure the ball stays in play and to take receives from basically anywhere on the team side). I would've thought he'd be the setter (the main player tasked to hit the ball into the ideal spot for the attackers to spike/slam the ball over the net to score)
Loved the video @chelzorthedestroyer! Can't wait for the next video Girl! Being a Number Crucher, I've gone ahead and Converted the Soccer ball Speeds to Miles per hour. • 116 Kph - 71.401 mph. • 129 Kph - 79.403 mph. • 150 Kph - 92.329 mph. As for the Volleyball video, as someone who's causally played Volleyball in Senior Year of High School, even I've never had gotten hurt that bad. Worst I've had was Jumping higher than expected and landing on both Hands and my left Knee, with enough force the Spin the Bevel on my Beringer Q3 Watch I had on at the time (I just barely heard it over the other noises in the Gym). Trust me, My Hands and Left leg were Hella sore from that for the rest of the Day, but what Scott Sterling's own Face goes through this pales in comparison to. Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video Girl!
I’ll watch pretty much anyone react to Weird Al’s Hardware Store or Peter Forsberg highlights, there’s a few people I always come back to for movie or series breakdowns, but humour? Like this and the LPL April Fools videos? Really just this channel, love how evident her enjoyment of it is and how she actually appreciates individual aspects instead of just a few highlights and missing the rest like so many others seem to
The ball they used in the close-ups was softer than regulation, though Matt did say they still hurt. Of course the injuries were done with makeup. For the "live action" shots, the ball was CGI.
hockey is pretty deadly when i played years ago i saw a buddy of mine almost bled out he got knocked over and one of the players got hit i was fighting for the puck and my friend who was on the ground got a blade of the skate to the neck i always kept saying why does noone wear neck protection it wasn't the other guys fault and because i have combat experience and went through emt and paramedic training i was able to stop the bleeding, you never want to put too much pressure on a neck wound with the wound he had all i had to do was stick my finger in and pinch the artery talkin about this make my neck feel weird it was years ago but it still feels like yesterday but the thing is if both of the arteries were severed there is little to no chance of survival because one you need to sop the bleed and two if the brain doesn't get blood the can become braindead you will end up needing a blood transfusion and because you will bleed out from the neck in literally like 15 to 30 seconds because i have seen it happen in combat and before i joined the Marines i used to play hockey back when i was really young and just played for fun after i got out i wasn't as good as i used to be because of my injuries from combat messed up hips and stuff and injury to my eye where now i can't see anything in that eye now lol but when it comes to trying to save someone don't give up watching someone die in your arms is something i never want to experience again
If an Ivy League team ever played against a State team, this is the best it could go. Ivy League schools don't give athletic scholarships, because their funding comes mostly from alumni donations. State schools make a huge amount of money from their athletics, so they scout the best athletes and offer them a free or almost free education (of questionable quality) in return for getting them on their team and getting more wins, which makes the school more money. Hence, state schools are like pro teams, while Ivy League teams are rich kids and scholars who have some passable athletic ability. Yale in particular loses a LOT, at least in American football. Also odd British commentary was covering American games. My only regret is that this did not finally end in a total decapitation.
Chelzor! Chelzor! can I see you do a reaction video to Emesis blue please? I really liked your tf2 vs overwatch reactions and want to see your reaction to Emesis Blue please and thank you!
Ball to the face isn't great. I cannot recommend a ball to the throat either which I remember happening to me while standing in the wall for a freekick once.
The "NO..... PLEASE...." In slow motion has me wheezing every time
A hilarious skit.
The man, the Myth! The LEGEND!

You'd think hockey would have prepared her since it's the same rule.
"It's called a shootout" Fucking Americans smh 🙅♂
Not always. It's mostly done in finals and not in group phase
Not finals. In knockout stages.@@Adi-kf6bq
that doesnt mean you have to use your face
"HE ASCENDED THROUGH THE AIR LIKE A DEFENSIVE ANGEL" 😭😭😭
With the face of a devil!!! 😂
I love the classic Studio C sketches. This, the Poker Face duology., and the Break Up duology are my favorites.
Shoulder Angel and the Viking is awesome too
You can't get mad at your team, if you can't remember what happened.
Hahahahaha that one person in the chat lmao
"He needs a restraining order for that ball"
Love the gradual realization that this isn’t an actual sporting event 😂
I can't believe you're just now learning about THE MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND. SCOTT STERLING!!!!!!
"Hockey would kill this man." Lol, true. Same with baseball.
The Legend!

Golden age Studio C. Scott Sterling is a classic!

where the link
@rashadel2005 links don't work. Just search "Scott Sterling MLS". It's the first one.
Nick "Scott Sterling" Rimando's Face Save
title of video for those looking for it,
ruclips.net/video/hYOXtngsE4U/видео.html maybe the link will work.
Don’t worry, he’ll walk it off 😂
When you're a tank and your health is still low and still won or when the team use you as a shield
As a Utah resident I am very pleased to see more people reacting to this
The commentary is the best in this sketch. "SCOTT STERLING'S FACE AND EVERYTHING ELSE!"
SCOTT STERLING THE GOAT!!!!

Yaaa! You're the second vtuber I've seen react to this. I keep recommending it to others.
I think the legend is being back
I highly recommend videos from studio C, it's called operation break up, and there's two of them.
You're essentially allowed to use any part of your body to hit a volleyball, even a soccer-style header.
Scott Sterling sadly never played again as the repeated balls to the face gave him instant dementia. He doesnt even remember who he is now.
You should watch more Studio C.
Oh... oh no. Those are college teams, Chels -> Scott was paid in blackmail and threats to his education :(
Scott Sterling!!!
Yeaaaah scott striline!!!!
I came to see the reaction and in the end, I learnt a bit more about physics... 😅😅

First pause 5 seconds in. Impressive.
Yessss.... you can hit the ball with your face in volleyball 😂👌👌👌
Fun fact. The slow motion close up shots are legitimately him getting hurt. Not hard shots iirc. As told by the actor playing Scott.

Throat goat
Thank goodness he’s not into baseball.
did this actually happen?! my view is this is just bs comedy. i mean...come on. then again....
it's from an online comedy channel. wide shots have the ball edited in, and the slow mo shots are just the ball getting lobbed at his face lol.
