I'm very grateful that there are recent videos reviewing older cars. Those of us who have to buy used cars on a budget benefit from well-explained and thorough reviews. All good - many thanks!

I agree. Even in December 2022 if you want a £5000, used, petrol, supermini within the £30 per year or less tax bracket, the 1.33 dual VVT-i Mk2 Yaris in the 50-70k miles range would be your best balance of most powerful, best built and most economical choice. Shows what a great job Toyota did with these that 12 odd years later they are still hitting the numbers and plenty are still going strong.

I have a 2008 Yaris 1.8 SR; definitely a fun car, surprisingly quick, both on acceleration, and through corners. A very overlooked 'hot mini' that surprises a lot of people.

I just brought a used 07 Yaris diesel version, so far I am super happy about it.
Very easy to control, with house power that more than enough.

My 2007 Yaris hachback has the 1.5 liter 4 speed auto. I love how it handles in the mountains. I had a Tercel. Them an Echo and now the Yaris. I also have a Scion XA which really looks a litte like a 4 door Yaris. Yes I am in the US.
