I'm very grateful that there are recent videos reviewing older cars. Those of us who have to buy used cars on a budget benefit from well-explained and thorough reviews. All good - many thanks!
I agree. Even in December 2022 if you want a £5000, used, petrol, supermini within the £30 per year or less tax bracket, the 1.33 dual VVT-i Mk2 Yaris in the 50-70k miles range would be your best balance of most powerful, best built and most economical choice. Shows what a great job Toyota did with these that 12 odd years later they are still hitting the numbers and plenty are still going strong. More reviews on
I have a 2008 Yaris 1.8 SR; definitely a fun car, surprisingly quick, both on acceleration, and through corners. A very overlooked 'hot mini' that surprises a lot of people.
My 2007 Yaris hachback has the 1.5 liter 4 speed auto. I love how it handles in the mountains. I had a Tercel. Them an Echo and now the Yaris. I also have a Scion XA which really looks a litte like a 4 door Yaris. Yes I am in the US.

I just brought a used 07 Yaris diesel version, so far I am super happy about it.
Very easy to control, with house power that more than enough.
So about a year later how's it holding up? I'm asking because I'm considering buying one right now and would like some real people reviews

I recently purchased my 1.4 D4D Yaris 2006 very good fuel economy and pocky if required, plus £35 road tax p.a. and I got fully comp under a grand.
Just bought an '11 5MT? Loving it thus far.
The center IP is also a great way to have right and left hand steering wheels,
cheap and lazy move
That's actually where they messed the car up

How does the Echo compare to the yaris? Are they as reliable?
Same car - the Yaris was initially sold as an Echo in the US and Canada until 2007 when the Yaris name was finally used.
Can someone please tell me the part code / name of the wheels of the red Yaris in the thumbnail ? Thanks
