That was unmistakably Gordon Brown's finest moment. Calling out a bigot instead of soft soaping her reassured me that the Scots stick to the truth rather than media spin. Well done that man.
I didn't record it, but I saw something on GMTV back in the early 2000s. The screen was set up with a small window on the left where a sign language interpreter would be standing, but just showed an empty room - with a lady pushing a vacuum cleaner around! A couple of minutes later the interpreter walked into shot, chatting with someone off-camera and didn't realise he was live. Then, finally when the next news story began, he started signing as if nothing unusual had happened beforehand!
This one of the problems with news automation systems. When they go wrong, the tally lights on the cameras don't work properly either. At least, that's most often the case.
No.4 isn’t that mind boggling really as it was explain at the time what happened. Just as they went on air the computer system crashed after upgrade. I believe the back up system was either having work done or also crashed. Huw sat there because at that point they weren’t sure if they were still on live on air or if a breakdown screen was being shown instead. The gap was so long as they were having to reboot the system. Hence why the cameras kept moving about. If you look in the background to the gallery you can see people running in and out. Huw was making notes on the changes to the running order.
I worked almost 20 years in the field, and cases like that happen almost every day when you're dealing with national live television. Sometimes the delay is like 8 seconds etc. And as we all know, even when everything goes ok at the rehearsal, it could go bad when its live
The Gordon Brown one was a cringe-fest. Everyone was talking about that one for ages after the event. Let's just say around these parts...Gordon Brown has a reputation of putting his foot in his mouth quite regularly!.
He knew he was the Welsh Secretary, so he should have phonetically learned the anthem. Totally unacceptable and arrogance, so it's no wonder he didn't last long in the role. Shameful.
Hey guys, video is underperfoming a tad. Maybe try changing and widening thumbnail image so we can see the reporters feet on the desk. It currently looks like a video made by the BBC upon first glance :)
Gordon Brown was perhaps the most misunderstood British PM of the 21st Century. He was certainly one of the most intelligent and compassionate - a lot more so than Mr Boris "Partygate" Johnson that much is for sure.
@@DeltaEASyt Why? Because she stated the obvious? The contempt that Brown showed her when he thought he wasn't being recorded summed up the state of British politics.
No he wasn't. He was a disaster. Sold off the gold at tbe wrong time, more benefits/handpits to people and just confirmed exactly what Labour think of their voters.
Which is a shame because the UK would not be in the absolute state it is currently in if he has been the PM, austerity would have been much less severe and the idiots would not have had their Brexit vote
@@gorgu08 Are you serious?? Brown practically bankrupted the country. He sold off our gold reserves at the lowest price. He, virtually, introduced a new social security benefit every day. I voted Cameron (who I didn't like) in order to get Brown out of No 10. Also, why are people who vote to have a say in their own governance and border security "idiots"? The idiots are those who wish to remain shackled to an unelected Communist bloc! People used to being pushed around.
What a shower. Brown shown up for what he's really like behind the smiles, and Edwards must have had other things on his mind. I do like Joanna Gosling though. She and Simon McCoy are great losses to TV news - unacceptably white I expect.
What's the funniest thing you've seen happen on live TV?

Guy was an absolute gem and, for a person untrained in acting, He saved the BBC. And Huw Edwards, well we all know why He was distracted.
No.8 Guy never even got the job he was going for. Hope they at least paid him for the interview they did live on tv!
He did OK

Hilarious! 😄Should have been on Mojo's list.
That middle finger will never not be funny.

The Huw Edwards debacle...this is what happens when people don't look at or wear watches. 😁

A thing happens. Yep. It’s shocking. Well worth reporting
100% pal you are so correct.😢❤

Ian dunking the finger in smith
Thomas Shafenacker. Priceless.
Brittish Telly!
Where is "I so pale!"
I think these are specifically from the UK
The man picking his nose was disgusting, almost made me sick🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Iain Duncan Smith is his name.
I thought that you only sang the anthem if you’re from there. John Redwood isn’t Welsh…is he?
He knew he was the Welsh Secretary, so he should have phonetically learned the anthem. Totally unacceptable and arrogance, so it's no wonder he didn't last long in the role. Shameful.
I'm English and I don't sing our anthem.

Update: I came back to check and it’s been changed and looks more spontaneous and clickable ! Nice one 🙌

I could not agree more!! We were asking for somebody competent and instead We got a complete screw up!!!

Brown lost the election at that very moment. He totally confirmed how much Labour despise ordinary people.

Poor john redwood even though hes a tory i feel sorry for him
Huw was busy looking at the latest photos to be sent to him...
Did the poor guy get the IT job ?
The urban myth is that he was a taxi driver. 😁
I heard he had come for a cleaning contract, not an IT job.
I am sure everybody does things

It's just a question most times of 😁😆.
I suspect most of the victims are newsreaders. 😁😆
Emma Baker was gorgeous! ❤
2:54 did he get the job ???
Unfortunately, no. Pity, as his reactions here are great.
Huw Edwards has been involved in worse blunders.
Not their fault. If they are not told
Huw edwards..now whats happened to him
Hopefully he'll be back someday.
