- Habibi marks the Iranian-Dutch artist’s directorial debut, and chronicles her journey to take back her power and redefine herself against the numerous forces in her life. The “Habibi” video is also an introduction to her new directorial partnership with Anastasia Konovalova, sevda+ana - billed as “a powerhouse female visionary duo that will continue to produce select branded and passion projects, in addition to Sevdaliza’s own work.

Sevdaliza, making music and presenting herself in ways that look and sound so futuristic and refreshing, yet like if she lived for thousands of years, hiding ancestral and spiritual knowledge on her art.
i think this song is about depression. sevda mentioned that she suffered from it after the release of ISON. she said the dog is a symbol for her inner demons & a black dog is a common metaphor for depression. it hits me when she sings "is there anyone out there to get me out of my head" 💔. i hope the release of this album helped her feel liberated from the pain. ❤️ Love you Sevdaliza

For anyone who doesn't know: "Habibi" means "my love" in Arabic.
Sevdaliza, with this piece of you, this whole, you changed my vision
it's like she's running away from the institution that is her mind and everytime she runs she is faced with a version of herself that reminds her that if she doesn't come back she will never be able to make it to the top (of the stairs)
she always tries to do something different with her songs. i love her wide range of variety.

I remember first time listening to this in 2020 when I was in a psychiatric clinic in the swiss mountains. It fitted my situation perfectly.
I've never seen a visual matching so perfectly a song before, this is a masterpiece.
how? for real, how a human can create such beauty? the visual, the instrumental, the voice, the mastering everything is so pure, sophisticated without trying too much. bravo

I can't explain how much I love the production of this song .. the intricate little sounds and the crisp and clear piano matches her voice so perfectly .. Mucky and Sevda is a match made in music heaven
It's like I want her music to be discovered all over the world and that she gets millions and millions of views. But at the same time I want to keep her for my self only because people just want to listen to a song to look cool and because it's the new trend. Sevdaliza's music is a feeling, it's spiritual, it's a fucking therapy!
