You are better off with a TATA Tiago EV which is more practical, VFM, fast charging, comfortable rear seat, good boot space, overall better driving dynamic.
Only enjoyable at chikna roads, which are not available throughout India😢. Everyone is praising this chotu car but you have clearly explained everything. Thanks for your honest review about Comet. All Indian cities ate full of speed breakers. How can anHats off 🙏
The small size does help the car in city roads, but other than that its nothing special... a second Car or maybe a 3rd for the family.. Thank you for the Review EvoIndia Team ❤
Is this car identical to the Wuling air or have they made any India specific modifications? What are the things that MG should have Indianised in this car in your opinion Sirish?
After 1300km driving it ..this is very comfy vehicle ..zips around city ..feels very power full while drawing ...feels like seating in big car SUV...visibility is very good...over all very happ with product
I'm from Singapore, and am excited to see the MG Comet with right-hand drive! As the Comet is so small I wonder if it will 'escape' conventional ENCAP testing standards by being classified as a quadricycle like the Citroen Ami and the Bajaj Qute?
Whenever i search for a specific car review, evo’s video doesn’t come up in the search results, I either have to scroll down deep or search specifically for evo. Just want to let the evo team know…
India is not ready for this yet. For Indians, cars are not just a mode of transport but an Emotion altogether. And this just doesn't feel like a car for the Indian car buyers, that too at 8 lacs +.
I'm still not convinced that it can deliver a range of 170-180 kms. In my opinion, the maximum range that one can achieve from it, is 125-130 kms only, with 2 people on board, in a congested traffic, where the average speed in which the vehicles move is 20 kmph only. I took the TD again today, and I could only get a milage of 100 kms, with 4 people on board. Drive mode: Normal, Regen mode: Normal, AC: On, traffic condition: Medium to heavy. However, I liked all the other aspects of the car, including the look, features, and the driving and ride comfort.
After driving 1300km I say ..180 to 185 km ....with sports modev ON with mild AC...as it's cold in Bangalore ..it's kept quite a practical range what MG claim...
The car is looking at a super niche market and with that price tag, it'll find some buyers. Maybe it'll be a lesson learning experience for MG to take notes and come up with a better package when they launch the next car off this platform.
@@kostinarain7373 People do have money but not many would spend it on the Comet, especially if they can get a Tiago EV for about a lakh more. I'd be surprised if they're able to sell more than a few hundred units on a monthly basis.
MG knew why tata nano failed despite being "most affordable". Comet EV is therefore launched at a higher price giving it an impression of rich people's toy.
Green revolution, Go Green is a trendy topic these days, a small electric micro EV of sorts should fly off the shelves, right? Reality isn't exactly that simple in an image conscious market like ours. Ours is a very tricky market. Indians or at least Indians on an average want something that their neighbors/colleagues/relatives would envy. This, the Comet, I don't see it doing that. It does not even cry fashion statement. You tell an average Indian outside a metro that you paid over 9.5-10L rupees(on road) for this and laugh is what you'd probably get. I know the Comet is not built cheaply, and EV system is expensive but styling plays a HUGE role in our country. If I am not wrong, MG/Wuling (or one of their subsidaries) has or atleast is working on a similar EV with SUV styling, Kiwi I think it was. Something like that for 8L (ex-showroom) would have been better choice in my opinion. Then there is the lack of sound deadening materials. Firstly the small size and you being so close to the corners is intimidating enough, the lack of sound insulation only makes it worse. All this is with respect to the price of course. If this was an electric quadracycle with on road price close to 6.5L on road, complaints would obviously be less. This is where a Tiago EV makes so much more sense to someone like me. For approx 50k more (base Tiago EV), you get a proper hatchback with spacious cabin for 4 adults and a kid and a usable boot, just marginally bigger in dimensions. Range is similar or better. It feels much safer too. You or anyone make disagree with my views, but I'm sure I am not the only one with this thought process. P.S., MG should consider a stripped down version of the comet, No internet inside, no dual 10.25 inch screen, just a normal speedo, a normal stereo with Bluetooth only, a phone mount so you can use navigation straight off your phone, less expensive fabric seats. May be cheaper halogen lamps? And a friendlier price, that would definitely aid the sales.
Sirish has made it clear why not to get the car in first 5 mins but still if you did not understand just go buy a tiago EV Also why spend so much on a city car just go buy a chevrolet BEAT or a honda BRIO way better build quality and much better 1.2 engines Feel free to reach out to me for sourcing any of these

Tiago EV for sure
Tiago ev the best compared to this

12lakhs for mid variant for tiago in Delhi. They are not in the same price bracket bro.

God ! Why did this car have to look so ‘toyish’ ?
Maybe that's its appeal.
This is one of the best EV project. I have ever seen. I highly recommend everyone to look over this.
MG has very good aim towards electronic vehicles in making them better
This car of mg is very luxurious with looks and features, its compact people are attracting everyone.

If the suspension is sorted and the price is lessened, I could consider it as a next buy.

basically a city car which is not good with speed breakers and potholes. Seems ideal for mumbai!!
Not to say it's not good. You'll have to be really gentle over the bumps and dips.

About squeezing it anywhere and finding tight gaps…. Treo is a good option
