I drive a Skoda Rapid Diesel 1.6L , 2/2012. It has been quite expensive to maintain it. The fuel injectors and ABS sensors were the main culprits. Had to replace 3 injectors and 8-10 sensors. Also the AC grills on the dashboard were replaced twice (very poor quality). But, inspite of all these, it is great to drive.
There is a reason why pre-2014 diesel cars had issues esp from VW/Skoda. 1) The diesel quality was poor with more level of impurities before 2016. It led to issues with injectors in TDI engines before that as these engines had injectors calibrated as per European fuel standards. It showed up issues but later VW/Skoda did change the injectors to comply with Indian fuel quality levels. Post 2018, no cars had fuel injectors unless someone really filled a bad fuel. I have a 1.5 L Ameo since 2018, I never had injector issues till date. 2) Pre-2018, VW's were 80% imported parts and components, the cost of parts were little higher. Diesels more than petrol because diesels need more maintenance considering more high quality diesel parts. But today, my 1.5 TDI (Diesel) gets serviced at approx 15k yearly or every 15000 kms. Petrol counterparts (I have a 1.0L 2020 Vento too) gets serviced at only 7k yearly or every 15000 kms. 3) Reliability: Well, if someone has taken the car to local mechanics who only had expertise in Maruti, Tata and Hyundai cars, and they filled these cars with cheaper grade engine oil, coolants and other consumables, these cars will show up issues because any German car with a cheaper low quality fuel and oils will damage it and show up issues. But, there are lots of owners who have always taken their cars to Authorised Service Centres, rarely had any issues. 4) ABS issues: It was an issue again in pre-2017 era where these sensors were too sensitive and dust and debris led to malfunction of these sensors. They sorted it later too. Coming to today's 2.0 cars, Apart from the early manufacturing glitches like EPC errors and Window roll down motor issues, every other problem has been sorted today. Today, post 2022, no car owner had any major issues provided they are maintaining it and not fiddling with the electrical components of the cars. Maintainence is super cheap too, 6-7k yearly for a global world class TSI engine and unmatched driving experience and durability.
@@pratikindia27Green diesels are NOT RECOMMENDED. These are BS-4 Diesels and it is written in the fuel lid to not use BIO DIESEL and Green Diesel has Bio fuel in it. Not recommended. Best way to manage the TDIs today is, fill normal diesel with a diesel additive like Addon-D available at Indian Oil Pumps. It increase lubrication and also has detergent properties which cleans the fuel lines and injectors too and also boosts the cetane value. Xtra Green Diesel is best for BS-6 Diesels but not BS-4 Diesel because of Bio Fuel content in XtraGreen
@@siddharthasamuel7259 does this apply to BS3 Diesels too? I have 2013 Vento 1.6 TDI and I have been told to put Green Diesel by one VW expert. I have been using it for more than a year now, but no problems as such. Sometimes when green diesel is not available, I put those Addon D packets in normal diesel
Skoda has to reduce wheelbase from Kushaq to accommodate in the sub 4 meter segment, it changed the game in favour of kaylaq. reduced wheelbase increased stiffness of body. Now kaylaq can go with softer suspension in the city without body rolling on highways. Now riding, steering feedback is fantastic. Reduced 55 kg also changed torque/ kerb weight ratio so same 1.0 TSI engine seems more peppy in kaylaq then it's siblings.
i love how sirish describes the i5 and then the g63. he is obviously a very intelligent guy but this seeing him essentially say ke bhai kya mast chalti hai is just great. absolutely love the content!
I follow all your videos especially for german cars. I am looking to buy Virtus GT but waiting for 360° adas and panoramic sunroof, will that be a reality in next 6-7 months? Please reply
Genuinely feel that a panoramic sunroof by definition will compromise on safety, stiffness, load bearing ability and cause weight increase in rest of the car to compensate for the huge hole in the roof.
18:07 that's comparing apples to oranges. If VW comes into hatchback space it'll be competing against a Baleno, Altroz & i20 Nline. Where the VW badge should technically shine if done right. Maybe they can try a ignis competitor, like a raised/cross hatch with lot better engineering even a 50K-1lac premium over the ignis could be winnable ground for a brand like VW.
They can't offer a 1.0TSI engine at a lower price than the kylaq, so smaller car is not feasible. They have a plan to stick to 1.0TSI and 1.5TSI engines only.
I wish, VW had lauched its compact SUV alongside Kylaq! Couldn't buy the Polo, cancelled Taigun 1.0 initial issues. I guess, I'll setlled down with the Kylaq now.
Skoda management doesn't have what it takes to win in India looks like... Why would you discontinue a perfectly good Rapid at a tempting entry point? Like you aren't bringing the Golf or the Fabia, India needs a sub 4m car for volumes and they keep releasing out of bound products like Slavia & Kushaq to start "India 2.0" 🤷 Imagine a tweaked/facelifted Rapid with modern elements at a sub 10L OR price! Hopefully they prove me wrong with this Kylaq, but it seems too little too late. Plus no NA engines, rules out the uncles & aunties who like a skoda feel, safety but also frugal running costs. The Rapid/Polo NA engine was decently serviceable.
It's cheap from people like yourselves, so called reviewers talking about safety like these 5 star rated cars are indestructible. A lot of people are driving recklessly cause of this nonsense and you'll don't actually explain what these tests are and what speeds they are run at. A 50kmph test is not the same as slamming into a truck at 120kmph, 6 morons just died a few days back and well safety rating doesn't mean shit there. Not to mention how specific the tests are, how they are performed in terms having seatbelts on, child in the child-seat, no gadgets lying around in the cabin and so on. It's very disingenuous to make these claims and then praise manufacturers for doing the bare minimum that will most definitely not hold up real world speeds. Would to see how these 5star rated cars would do against a pole test at 40kmph head on, cause how the fuck would your car hit a pole at exactly 29kmph on the side in the real world.
I checked it out briefly and for the price it's fantastic, although I'd still get a 3XO instead because of ADAS2. A premium make like Skoda not including ADAS in 2024 doesn't make sense to me especially when some other brands are already including it.

Try green diesel. It won't create problems with fuel injectors

Why you have not picked up on 3 cylinder for Dzire!! Fishy

can you do a throwback on BMW 220d?
Sure, Thanks for the suggestion!
Hyundai Venue has cupholders.
Damn right about the sketches 😂😂

VW launches cars after 6 months of Skoda
@@rajandeepsinghbhullar4894 Don't really know. The Taigun was launhed 3 months after the Kushaq was launched.
Baby Kushaq is wider than Kushaq ! Hope you have noticed this fact.
Is it true, nobody mentioned it and everybody is saying u can't fit 3 adults in rare seat
@ True. 1760 mm vs 1783 mm

ADAS is worst feature for which you pay huge extra money. In indian condition it does not make much sense
