Another good video , great your been honest with urself , you know your capable of 3.05 ,concentrate on that , I one tip just focus on this years marathon don’t over think what your going to do after 👌
Great update Neil, in fairness you put the hard work in to get over last years set backs. Out of curiosity what were the conditions/ course like for your 3:08 PB?
@@Alan35882 I ran 3:08 twice. The first time was Manchester, very flat and good weather and the second time was Dublin, again good weather that day but on both occasions I wasn't in sub 3hr shape so both marathons I walked a lot.
@@Alan35882 I also ran 3:09 in Dublin the year I ran Chester. That day was 3 weeks after the Chester marathon and I was mentally fatigued. I switched off my watch at 4mi and decided I was pulling out but never did. Ran on feel and just enjoyed the day and finished strong.
That’s some going in fairness. I was wondering would I use the marathon estimator on my watch this year but I think it’ll drive me nuts from the first km.
@@thomasoconnell6325 I ran 1hr32 earlier this year. That was off just a load of zone 1&2 base miles and no workouts. My fastest half ever was 1hr26 but that was 6yrs ago around the time when I was running 3:08 in the marathon.
I wouldn't be prescriptive about what pace you may or may not be able to run in December. Just do the training, evaluate the numbers and go from there.
Very Sensible 👍🙂
@@markg99 you know meeeeee?!
You've got this Neil! Do whatever you're feeling confident doing bud! We believe in you! 😎🤘

@@robertkierans5400 yes this is good advice and it's what I'm trying to focus on. Thanks, Robert.
Have you seen Will O'Connor's running videos? Great advice about marathon pacing, particularly for those in the three hour range!
@@IRunDaily I've watched them all 5 times 😂😂🙈😂😂
Half his view count is me.
Go big or go home, sub 3 incoming 😜👌💪 Im sure you will smash the training.
@@SwimBikeRunStu Right, Stu - I'm going home. 😁👊😂
Sounds like a quality plan, youll definitely do it one day thats for sure, and a PB is a PB so will be great regardless 🔥🔥
@@raleyadventures that is the current plan. And, I'm happy to say everything is going well so far.

What kind of half time have you at the moment? Interested to see what lines up with 3:08 marathon training or 3:05
