I have a Hardback DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of TRAIN. Discover the story of railways - from the days of steam to the high - speed, sophisticated trains of today. In association with THE NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM.
Before the esk valley cottages towards grosmont at the bottom of the climb on the bend, there is a bridge underneath the railway into the field, it's from there. Usually other people around, best in the mornings with the sun behind Would you return the favour? I watched yours, how do you get to 03:20?
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the reply 👍. Anyway, the location in my video at 3:20 is Deaths Ledge/Suicide Ridge near Thomason Foss. Take the footpath just before the white house at 54.405283,-0.724271 towards the railway. You should find yourself on the opposite side of the valley to the railway looking straight at a railway bridge which the footpath goes under. Go through the gate but do NOT take the steps down toward the bridge, instead there should be an informal path to the right of you which follows the fence line. Follow the path (which is a bit dangerous and quite muddy, boots recommended) until you reach a stone fence which you follow down towards the 'ledge'. It is very steep to get down there so hold onto the fence to get you safely down. Just be careful of the 60-meter drop into the river. I hope this helps 👍

a double headed 9f? I don't think they doubled headed 9fs on the tyne dock to consett iron ore run
I’ve seen old film of double headed (or top and tailed) 9F’s on coal trains in that area.
I think it’s on “Steaming around Britain - the north east”.
Great video, how do you get to the location at 00:18?
