Thank you Marty. I live a few miles away from Solisbury Hill in Bath, England. It is written in the Anglo Saxon Chronicles that the battle of Baden took place there , and was King Arthur's 12th and greatest triumph over the Saxons !!!! Remains of a hill fort are still there which was occupied from about 300 BC to 100 BC Just a bit of history for you guitar pickers. I think your style is great Marty and I love playing it your way.
I was messing with this song last night. I was no were near close to how you played it. I wake up and you have it on youtube. I thought that was pretty cool. Thanks.
Hi Marty, thanks a lot. After more the 15 years abstinence from guitar playing you help me to find back to the chords. I only need 20 Minutes. Hey thank you for bringing back guitar fun tin my life. Great teacher.
thank you for making it simple it is one of those songs that you can over complicate and you cut right to the good stuff and fun way to handle it - peace to you and all the best
Hi i am really impressed with your teaching techniques and even though i have been playing guitar for many years if i wish to learn a particular song i come to you every time and really appreciate the quality of your playing it has really helped me to improve my technique and many thanks have a great day.
hey marty!I wanna say you 1 thing.i think u are realy good teacher and u helped me alot,im playing guitar like 9 month's and im realy good becouse of you.THANK YOU very much! :D
Marty thanks for the lesson. Your the boss of strings man! I got down in an hour. I'd looked at other videos but didn't have a clue or too much yakking. It would be the coolest to get together for a one on one lesson/session.
Wow, I just bought "Shaking the tree" yesterday and I was trying to learn it by ear and you post this thank you so much this guys lyrics are so deep and his stage presence is awsome Lady Gaga ain't got nothin on Peter Gabriel.
Awesome, as usual, Marty. Thank you! Since you brought this one up, can you do another Peter Gabriel-'In Your Eyes'? The Jeffery Gaines version of that song blows me away every time I hear it.
marty u r awesome----keep it up---i have learned so many songs---i am telling all my friends about your youtube channel and your website---thanks again!!!!!
Thanks, great job. I was fiddling around with the capo on the 2nd fret and doing it in A...I like your way better.....I'm hearing something a little different over the line "Grab your things I'm comin' to take you home"...with the capo on 4th fret, I hear a walk up from A. So it starts with an Am7, B/G5thingy, C, D, G riff. The bass notes being A (grab) , B (things) , C (comin'), D (take) (you) G riff Just a technicality or a preference - I like your way too.
So I am a Huge Marty Fan, and for whatever reason, I thought that I would learn Solsbury Hill. And WHO should pop up......?? MARTY!! I was not even thinking to find him doing the lesson!! Happy Here.
Nice Marty! Capo 4 works so well for this song. I play the last two lines of the phrase differently: [Em D] My heart [Cmaj7] going boom, boom boom "'[Em D Cmaj7] Son, he said, '[C]Grab your [G]things I've (Dsus4: xx0233) come to (D or D/A: x0423x) take you home"
Thats awesome! hey i really want to say thank you for all your lessons. I tried making a request earlier but i dont think it worked. But it was Throttleneck by brad paisley.... you should check it out i bet you would have fun playing it. If you can please make a video for it that would be sweet. and once again thank you.
Love this song, thanks for being such an inspiration Marty. Ever heard 'Gibson Martin Fender' by the Pirates? would make a great lesson that know ones ever done before! Love ya man...
Can you please please please do a tutorial of "dont think twice its alright" from Bob Dylan's Free Wheelin'?? everyone else sucks at teaching it, and i think i can learn it from you.
Marty could you please do- You'll Never Walk Alone, by Gerry And The Pace Makers, every song I have learned has been from you and there are no other instructional videos for it. I need to learn this song as I am from Liverpool, England and it is my home towns anthem.
Im a 52 year old beginner. Messing around the last few years off and on. This is a great lesson, slowly lights are coming on. There's a Genesis song called 'Back in NYC' that Francis Dunnery does a very pretty acoustic version of. I get the D chord variations, but is there any way you could do a lesson of that song please.
