Il più grande guerriero da fondo campo della storia di questo sport. Tenace, talentuoso, e caparbio. Che bello quel tennis, e che bello aver visto giocare il signor Hewitt❤️❤️❤️
I became a fan the first time I saw him play when he defeated Agassi when he was just 16/17. I remember thinking at the time this guy will be No.1 in the world one day little realising he would achieve this a few short years later. I could never understand why some of my fellow Australians especially the Australian press didn't like him much at that time. They didn't like his "come on" and thought he was a show off. Ridiculous really because he always spoke well of his opponents and was polite in interviews. Tall poppy syndrome was my explanation of his treatment here regardless of the fact that he was the youngest No.1 ever and stayed at the top for such a long time. He is one of my three favourite players of all time, the others being McEnroe and Kyrigos.
I must admit, for quite a few years I really hated Hewitt, the bitterness from him beating Henman in Wimbledon 2002 was just too much, particularly because Tim really should have won it the year before. However as time went on and especially now, I look back and really miss lleyton being on tour. Players like him, Henman, Roddick and Safin just don't exist in today's game.
Pat Rafter and Leyton Hewitt were 2 players I really enjoyed to watch. Im notmreally a Tennis fan but im Aussie and they got me watching tennis. Once these guys retired I've barely watched tennis much tennis, mainly because of players like Bernard Tomic and Nick Kyrigos have given Australia a bad name and those guys are the opposite of Australian, because they show no heart. I do like Alex the Demon, but he can't seem to live up to his potential and can't seem to go well in the big tournaments. Hopefully this year he can get to that next level
Winning and starting at such a young age, he eventually burn himself out like many other players, when they get famous at such a young age, then they have to deal with the veterans, then and the younger more hungry players who recently pro after they turn 18.
As you can see by the endless failures of lost gens and next gens, taking out the old legends is not easy. Hewitt beating Sampras and Agassi was a good achievement
@Graham Swartwood No Pete Sampras or Andre Agassi... dude did you even watch tennis back then? Agassi ended 2001 at No. 3 and 2002 at No. 2 and was Hewitt's main rival during the time he was No. 1. Hewitt was beating Sampras consistently since he was a teenager and Sampras was still a top 3 player. 7-5, 6-0 at the Masters Cup for example. Love the crappy revisionist history that's pushed here and on forums by idiots.
Former World number 1 who easily beat the legendary Pete Sampras many times and also beat the legendary Andre Agassi. Hewitt also won Wimbledon and the US Open, the first Australian male in such a long time to win Wimbledon. Yeah, he's a legend.
N1, Davis Cup champion (when it mattered), several titles and two GS with two finals. If he hasn't won more, which he has plenty, it was because of injuries and Federer.
Well, he is, youngest atp #1, 80 weeks at #1, 2 grand slams in the earlier Federer late Sampras era. Is literally the reason why this entire generation says “cmon” after every point.
Always rooted for this guy, was players like him that got me watching tennis and made me realize how exciting the sport is!
Love Lleyton, his passion and fight made him one of the best players to watch and he inspired me to take up tennis.
Lleyton Hewitt is so talented. Such a big inspiration and a legend in tennis.
That lob is still the greatest lob since the end of the serve and volley era.
Happy birthday Lleyton!!!
COME ON!!!
That is the best video on this channel I have ever watched.
Lleyton's never say die attitude was very inspiring. It seems that De Minaur has learned a lot from him.
His never say die attitude only got him two grand slams 😅
@@judefernandez827 "only" 2 grand slams???????? most players never see 1. you don't need to win 20 grand slams to be a great player
What a warrior all or nothing💯
These are awesome videos, keep it up!

Che bello quel tennis, e che bello aver visto giocare il signor Hewitt❤️❤️❤️
Some say Rafa is the greatest competitor ever in tennis history, but I would put Hewitt, Connors up there for grabs as well..
Nadal is Hewitt 2.0
And Rafa is the best hard worker in tennis history!
But Lleyton is a great competitor too
Definitely agree. Lleyton just had less talent to work with. Needed to be an intense competitor.
I think Lleyton is quite talented.. great athlete and smart player, just loses to some on firepower.
Stat here for you last player to win Wimbledon before the big 3 and Murray
Wow, it’s been a long time
Still somehow the last non-Big4 number 1 or 2 in any week since 2004
You mean the big 4...

Geile Zeit mit Hewitt, Safin,Roddick

The closest guys would be Murray, Stan, Cilic, Nishikori, Berdych.
Once they retire, you start to miss them! I definitely miss Roddick.
@@CoachAdrian i dont
@@CoachAdrian Why Roddick?
GREAT champion
Pra mim os três tenistas que mais gostei ,Sampras ,Gustavo Kuerten e Hewitt.
Lleyton Hewitt's mum was a coach in Woodville High School x

Idk when he retired but he must have been an amazing player.
Legend
Can't believe he's same age of Federer, seems he retired a decade ago.
Chino Rios next!

Still somehow the last non-Big4 number 1 or 2 - 15 years later
Легенда
Next legend for the next video to choose from: Connors, Lendl, Borg and Cash
He came at just the right time. Sampras was on the decline and on the way out and Federer had yet to awaken.
As you can see by the endless failures of lost gens and next gens, taking out the old legends is not easy. Hewitt beating Sampras and Agassi was a good achievement
Definitely took advantage with some Slam wins
@@CoachAdrian So did Murray but I don't see you talking about him.

@@marcograsso2740 I would guess injuries ? Age ?
Llegs another nickname
voice over please. great video though
Hewitt hit way too many balls into the net...though I did learn (later) that his backhand was actually quite formidable
Hewitt legend
Ahahhahhaha
He’s done more than you ever will

If beat Sampras many times and Agassi how come he only won two
In thumbnail he looks like shapavalov
You didn’t quite have to describe “Hewitt was engaged to Kim Clisters”...
Just like Michael Chang.
💔 Hailey? x
Hewitt had a great career and he was my favorite until Rafa came along. Great videos BTW but maybe lose some of that constant music throughout.
great career and suffered a lot of injuries or his record would have been better
very entertaining to watch
it happens, many players suffered injuries. Federer awakening didn't help
common aussie common
Yes he was very common 😅
Rafael Nadal 1.0...........
Seconddddd!
first!!
Racially abused James Blake on court and you guys post this in black history month? Are you for real?
No one cares
Legend of tennis that won only few slams?
How many players can say they won 2 slams?
N1, Davis Cup champion (when it mattered), several titles and two GS with two finals.
If he hasn't won more, which he has plenty, it was because of injuries and Federer.
Lleyton is definitely a legend
Not few two 😅
Definitely weak era I mean what can you say guys these dudes were absolute garbage back then am I right?
No.
He was awful on clay.
better than u
@@t-bone7988 Yes but I'm not a professional tennis player.
Hewitt is NOT a legend. He's just a good tennis player. Excuse me: was...
How many records have you set then? Oh wait...

@@brendanm6921 what a stupid, childish thing to say :DDD People ARE allowed to have opinions even if they are not tennis players LOL
@@awateilrahc I didn't know he only had 2 Grand Slams.... He's even worth less in now.... Even Murray has more!
@@lamaadministrator2595 tell me how many active players have 2 grand slams. Then realise how hard it is to win 1 let alone 2.
When he serves he rotates his feet and his heel moves in above the baseline before he hit the ball. Is that true? for this reason I don't like him.
