Like Michael Corleone said "just when I thought I was out, I get dragged back in", lol! I thought I was going to get rid of all my sugar cookie equipment thinking I would never bake them again (73 years old) you hooked me with your christmas tree tutorial. I kept saying to myself "going to keep it simple" over and over again with my daughter telling me the same but now you put out your 2 latest tutorials and back I am! I have gotten motivated to make them to send to my children and grandchildren that all live in different states so I will be busy for the next few weeks. Thank you, Stephanie for renewing my interest in this craft. I sent you something for your cup of coffee.😊
🤣🤣🤣 that's how I feel all the time. It is definitely a time consuming hobby but every time I get tired and don't want to do it, I get sucked back in too! So I feel you... but that being said, that makes me soooo happy to hear that 🥰🥰 your grandkids will absolutely be over the moon if you send them cookies. There's really nothing better than a homemade treat from your grandma!! I absolutely love that you are doing it ❤️❤️ that is the sweetest thing. 🥰😁 and thank you so much, I really appreciate it 🙏
@@LittleCookieCo Definitely time consuming but when I would give cookies away many didn’t want to eat them cause "they’re just too pretty to eat", lol!
That's so true, people tell me that all the time. And as much as I appreciate that, I'd rather they just eat them 😁 because after all that's what they are meant to be!
Whoa!!! such gorgeous cookies, this December I will sit at the table by the fireplace and try my hand at icing. Thanks and God bless you girl for being such an inspiration.
I love watching your videos❣️ Thanks for sharing simpler cookies for newbies...I am just watching for now but I hope to try doing some after the holidays.
I'm so grateful to have found you I appreciate you going the extra mile to explain things in detail. Thank you so much! I'm excited yet very nervous I was optimistic about starting cookies until I accidently came across someone's post about how they've been trying for over a year. You do an amazing job! Im struggling with how to measure cookie dough when you roll it as far as thickness of cookie. What do you suggest to use? Thank you so much for all you do! ❤️
Don't be scared, I know it's nerve wracking to start but we all go through and have felt the same! You will be your own worst critics at times even though everyone else will absolutely love them! The best way is to dive right in and try them. The more I did the more I learned and I almost had to go through some fails to learn how to make them better. I have lots of tips and tricks videos or these detailed step step by step tutorials that I try to make sure others can skip the mistakes I had to go through. And always take pictures, you will see your progress when you look back as sometimes you feel like your not getting better when you actually are! As for thickness of cookies dough, I do it by hand so it varies and it's not always even but I'd say I aim for about 5/8 of an inch. If they're too thin it's hard to move them around when decorating without getting your fingers in the icing, so I try to make them thicker but not so thick it's too much cookie to icing. You can buy guides on a rolling pin to help you get the tight thickness or some people will tape a few paint mixing sticks together and put them at the side of the dougg when they roll it to get an even thickness
@@LittleCookieCo Tysm for taking the time to respond. I'm so grateful for you and your tips, tricks and tutorials you're very much appreciated. You're right I guess I won't know until I try. I have to get everything I need before I begin. So I'm working on that but I'm definitely excited. You make it look so easy!
It always looks much easier on social media, what you don't see is the mess and stress behind the filming 🤣🙈 so don't worry too much, they're cookies and we are lucky we can eat our mistakes and no one will ever know. So have fun with it, and I promise it will get better the more you do it!!
@@LittleCookieCo Thank you again I appreciate your kind words 🙏 I wish I could take a class or course by you I know I could learn a lot thank you for providing that for free through these videos! I have Baking experience and have been painting rocks to deliver to people it's just a bit more complicated with icing. Thank you for wishing me good luck I'm gonna need it. Lol
I try to make my videos kind of like classes so anyone can watch them for free as many times as they want or need! And I try to always answer questions, so feel free to leave a comment if you ever need help! It sounds like you are quite artistic, so I'm sure that will help a lot. Icing is different but you'll get the hang of it. I've seen so many people doubt starting and a year later they are incredible cookie artists!! So I have full faith in you!
Yes, you definitely can!! They freeze so well and taste as good if not better after! The trick is, make sure your icing is fully dried and freeze in an airtight container. When you're ready to take them out, place the container on the counter until they're fully defrosted to avoid condensation on your cookies! And that's it 😄
As always, such beautiful designs and love how you explain each step. Question - when you put your flood bag down, does the icing seep out? I generally use a squeeze bottle for flood icing however it's not as easy to maneuver as a bag.
Thank you ❤️ and yes it does. I always keep a few damp paper towels beside me and I fold them lengthwise in half and I'll put the tips of my bags inside the fold. This keeps the icing from crusting over on the tip and also allows me to squish the tip closed on the flood bags so not a lot seeps out. And if it does its contained in the paper towels 😄
Thanks for your reply. I am decorating cookies tomorrow and using your designs as inspiration. Will use the wet paper towel trick as well. Thanks again for such beautiful designs and your real life attitude. You make decorating cookies a little easier with your positivity. Happy Holidays!@@LittleCookieCo
I have a question! 😊 just starting out! Why on the holly cookie did you spread the frosting with a spatula instead of outlining and flooding it like the others? Thanks!
I just wanted to give people options of different ways to decorate! Sometimes your in a rush and need to finish them quickly or have people that may not want a ton of icing or just looking for a different style or design, so I like to show them!
Thank you!! I buy my meringue powder from a store online called Flour Confections. And yes, you can use aquafaba, I've never done it but I have a fellow cookier who's Vegan who had a recipe on it here: thecakemama.ca/the-best-vegan-vanilla-sugar-cookies-with-royal-icing/
They reached out to me once a few years back to apply but I never made the cut I guess 🤣 but don't know if I'd be good enough haha, it seems so stressful 🙈🙈 I feel like I'd need the themes ahead of time so I could prepare or I'd go blank 🤣
I do have sped up videos, usually with "satisfying" in the title and I post lots of shorts as well! These longer ones are to help people decorate step by step!

Is the cut tip of the bag for the outline the same size you cut for the flood or is the flood bag tip cut larger?
I usually cut the flood one slightly larger! If it's too small I have to put a lot more pressure on the bag and it gets tiring!
You are so clever to do this, I envy you ❤
You are too kind, thank you! I know you can do it too 🥰🥰

Do you have a gingerbread cookie dough you like best?
I don't really make gingerbread, usually just stick with sugar cookies, sorry!
Hi there. Your work is awesome. Curious … what type of meringue powder do you use and can you or have you substituted for aquafaba.

I try to keep it around 80/85 °F
