HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM DIY WATER BOTTLE LABELS

- Have you ever been planning a party or event and just wanted that extra thing to really put your decor and party over the top?! Well this is it. Personalized water bottle labels are seriously SO easy to customize and make yourself and they are sure to impress. You will garunteed get plenty of compliments on this little detail at any event. I had personalized water bottles at my wedding 7 years ago which inspired me to do it again for my baby shower. The beauty of these is that you can 100% personalize them to your liking! You can add words, pictures, images, or literally ANYTHING you want to your own labels and make them your own and I am going to show you how to do it! It's super simple and cheap and I hope you enjoy it. Keep in mind the labels you see me make on the computer are different than the labels you will see me putting on water bottles, and that is because I already had made the water bottle labels that I put on the bottles before I decided to record how I did it, also it is very detailed and I wanted to use a simple option for the demonstration of how I made them to get right to the point.
I will post on my blog a jpg image of the individual label made in this video and the Wordpad document with multiples on it for your convenience if you just want to download and print the ones I made for this video, so click the link below to find that! I hope you like this video and if you do, share some love in the comments below.

Thanks so much for the simple way to create these labels. It did take me a minute to find a question/response regarding the Nutrition Facts outline, but after reading your response I was able to do it. I think my labels turned out really great and am sure my niece will love them. Thanks again!
This is easier than I thought. Thanks so much for the video!

@@BurstofSunshine very helpful for my son birthday thank you so much !!! ❤️
Great video! Probably the clearest and easiest to understand and follow of all the water bottle label tutorials I've watched. TFS! Can Canva also be used for chip bag templates? Thanks in advance!
PS..Congrats on your new baby!
I use Canva for all kinds of stuff, I just measure whatever it is, and put it in the custom dimensions under inches and design away. :)
That is awesome, and looks so easy to do. Thank you for sharing
You're very welcome! I'm glad you like it! :)
Thank you so much!!!!! That is perfect 👌

Thank you so much! I am do glad you found it helpful. Water bottle labels are my go-to for all events! I made labels back when I got married in 2011 and now I make them for all events I do haha! They're so simple but I think they make a huge impression.
Wow that's so amazing and so cute I'm new here but I was so excited thank you ,I came on here to see how I would be able to make home made labels without having a Cricket machine and see this cute label thank you so much

Thank you
You’re very welcome I hope it was helpful! I uploaded a little slower version a few months back since this one was kinda fast in case you wanna check it out!
Thank you
You’re welcome I am glad you found it helpful!
Do you keep the size to 7×1 in word?
Yes, you want the label to fit the same size as the original and Microsoft word prints items true to size once you size it right in the program. So definitely keep it to the size of the label you need in word :)
Thanks so much for this ❤️
Alejandra Fimbres you’re very welcome I am glad you like it
Very easy & nice 🌸🌸
Thank you!
Great video! This was very helpful.
Thank you I am glad you like it :)

You're very welcome I am glad you liked it!
Great video . How did you get the black box around the birthday facts . I wish you could do a slowed down version
Thanks for saving my exam💪💪💪
The only things that I did not see is what exactly did you click on on Canva
This is great!
Thank You! :)
Really helpful
THANKS A MILLION.
Thank you! Easy ,cheap, and to the point
Hello this was amazing.
Question once it’s downloaded and out in word, would the label shrink in size?
Would it download as it was preset I the website?
Mine stays correct to size once I put it in word, but to double check, you can right click the image in word and click 'size and position' and under size you can double check that the width and lengths are correct :) I hope that made sense haha
she didn’t mention that you have to have to have canva pro to do ur own size or at least for me it’s telling me I have to.Thanks so much tho definitely prepared for graduation and my 18th birthday🥰
I do not use Canva Pro I use the free version. As long as you have an account with Canva you should be able to create your own dimension project. I use the free account.
@@BurstofSunshine oh okay i’ll try again then cause it wouldn’t let me without canva pro.
I love your video! i am a little new to canva tho and you moved too quickly for me, i gotta watch this is slow motion 😂 But i got the gist of it and for my sons 4th birthday this june i plan to make some lables for his class birthday party. Thanks for this video
I just finished editing a slower version that I will be uploading this weekend! I’ve had many people say I went to fast so I decided to do an updated one and slow down! Subscribe so ya see when it goes up!
@@BurstofSunshine oh yay I look forward to watching that video too 😁 i figured out my design and sizing i did a test print and its perfectttt. Im currently struggling with opening my design in a word app and copying multiple times to print. im on a mac and i have microsoft word and it just isn't working for me.
@@tiffy6257 I use Google Docs for mine now! It’s free and you can open it up on a browser! I do not have a Mac so I’m not 100% on how it works on there but I would imagine it’s about the same!
@@BurstofSunshine thank you so much! I ended up using design space and it worked wonderfully from there. I will give Google docs a try also.
@@tiffy6257 Great Idea! I never even thought to use design space!
THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
Loved the video. What type of printer are you using ?
Great Question! I actually am not sure what kind of printer it was, it was just a basic printer I think an inkjet. Nothing fancy. :) Sorry I couldnt be more helpful.
A very good video you had maid madam . 😊😊 .
Thank you I am glad you like it!
@burst of Sunshine how did you put the border around the birthday facts box?
I made a rectangle or square in the color you want the border to be. Then add another rectangle in white ONTOP of the first one, just slightly smaller. It’s really just 2 rectangles stacked, but it gives the illusion of a boarder! 😁 I hope that makes sense. Then for the lines I just add lines in where I want them ontop of the rectangles.
Awesome video
thank you!
Love your video
Thank you! :)
What did you search for the outline of the birthday facts?
Can’t get it to work on my tablet
I've never done it on a tablet so the layout of the Canva app may be setup differently than the pc online versionb that I use. I am sorry I am unsure.
❤❤❤
i love how easy you made this look. my daughters birthday is on the 17th and here i was about to order some from amazon. thank you i will now try to make my own. what kind of paper did you use?
I used regular printer paper and just sealed it with packaging tape to make it sturdy and more water proof! Happy Early Birthday to your daughter I hope she loves her labels!
@burst of sunshine - what about condensation? How does it hold up against being in a cooler?
Thank you!
@@OceanDevotion0812 Regular paper would definitely not do well if you don't seal it! You can laminate it, or I personally just used packaging tape on both sides to seal it in! Mine has held up fine in coolers and with condensation as long as I put the tape on it!
Girl, do you know how much money you just saved me in 2021?!! 🎊🥳
♥️ gotta love some diys that save $$$$
Your videos are awesome. Thank you for sharing. Where do I find the step by step "slooowwww" instructions for the water bottle label making. Congrats on your baby :)
I apologize the video is so fast, I assumed a lot of people have a short attention span like me so I try to speed them up and sometimes I do it a little too much 😂 I will have to make a slower more in depth version soon!
Thank you! This video was so helpful! Which printer and paper did you use for this ? 💕
I don't remember the printer exactly but I believe it was just a cheap canon from walmart! I use regular printer paper for them and i just make them sturdier with the packaging tape! :)
Hi, thankyou for this video! I have 1 question.. My measurements are 8*1.4.. when I open it with word pad, the biggest I can go is 7.. is there any other free program that I can use?, that you know if.
You could try rOtating it sideways into landscape instead of portrait. You also might try changing the margins on your word pad as that is probably what is stopping it from having the full surface area. I use wordpad because it is free but if you have Microsoft Word it would probably work even better! :)
What type of paper are you using...please specify
I use basic plain printer paper letter size! 11x8.5
wow thank you for that
your welcome Im glad you like it :)
Do you have to have canva pro to make these?
No I have only ever used the free version of Canva! You will need a Canva account which is free to make but I do not pay for Canva or Canva Pro!
Subscribed!!!
Thanks so much
Maxine Mwazaka thank you!
Came out beautiful!! What size did you put on the labels?
I can't remember off hand, I just measured the labels that came on the bottle and made them taht size since alot of the bottles are different shapes and sizes!
Hello. I have a order of 40 bottles & I don’t know what to charge. Can you give me an idea?
Hm I’m not sure I’ve never sold them! I would definitely consider how long it is going to take you to make them! Your time is valuable! And the cost of supplies as well! Be sure to pay yourself fairly for your work!
Is canva a free website?
It is! I do believe there might be a paid version of it but I only use the free options! :)
@@BurstofSunshine thank you for responding.
Where do i get the black border around the nutrition facts?
I use the elements and choose the square shaped outline! You can adjust the size and dimensions once you get it on there! I hope I explained that well enough lol.
Do you sell these? I need some
What kind of paper do you print on
I just used regularly copy printer paper!
Do you have to purchase the canva pro choice in order to be able to have and use the custom dimensions option ? Because It doesn’t show on my end
No I have only ever used the free option. I use the desktop version on my PC so I am unsure if the phone app version of it gives you that option or not. Are you using a pc?
Thank you so much for this video😘😘😘😘
Hey dear, what type of paper did you use?
Cook with rau I use regular printer paper and just cover it with packaging tape so the water droplets doesn’t ruin it.
Is there a special machine for this ?
Just a regular printer & copy paper 😊
is this a special type of paper? or just regular printing paper?
I am so sorry it has took me so long to answer I have been prepping for a craft fair for weeks. I just use regular printer paper because its thin so it bends around the bottles nicely, Just be sure to waterproof it with tape so the water doesnt destroy your beautiful labels. :)
Omg thank you for sharing. I have an upcoming event and I wanted to make water bottles and cups and a few bags I will be buying the theme from etsy but wasnt sure how I was going to print them out. Any idea I can make some centerpieces in cocomelon theme like that.
Maybe make something to go around a vase or something for the middle? you can measure the vase or centerpiece to get your size that you need then edit on Canva to fit? I don't have any specifc ideas as i'm not super familiar with cocomelon :) I bet whatever you do though will turn out awesome!
Thanks for tip what’s best paper to print for water bottles I’m making some for a friend xx subscribed n liked xx 😘
I apologize for the delay in responding I've spent weeks prepping for a craft fair. I used regular printer paper and then just waterproofed it with tape. I like regular paper because it isnt too stiff which means its flexible enough to bend around the bottle good :) Hope that was helpful.
@@BurstofSunshine very much and that's ok love thank you so much for replying :) I think its a cute concept for sure and wasn't sure what was best :) hope your all good n well lovely thanks for your help mwha xxxx
Hey what background you used for your bottle label?
I usually just find free images on Canva or something of that sort to use as a background. :) Hope this was helpful. I would definitely use google to your advantage to find cute images you can stretch to fit your background.
Thank u..
Gives me an idea 💗
Grace Lamzvenc I’m glad you like it
