Thank you for doing this unboxing. You saved me money.😊
Thanks for the review. This seems really disappointing to me for the price point. Packing is better than the contents. Not a patch on the cult pens advent IMO.
The toadstool is made with honeycomb paper - it's a sweet decoration. I thought the exterior of the calendar really pretty, however for the price, I found the gifts very disappointing.
Ah, thank ouy. I just couldn't for the life aof me remember what it was called. I agree with you. The calendar is beautiful and lovely to open/have on display. It's just a shame that not all the contents hit the mark.
Yep, packaging 10, contents 3.5
109 pounds is 4,50 per box. A lot of stuff isn't even worth 4.50 ( bookmark, ornament, paperclips, wax seals, gift tags, ribbon, the paper decoration, little notepad, bulldog clips, page markers) The only thing that is worth the 4,50 is the notebook in box 24). Does Martha listen to customers? A lot of people complained about the previous boxes and this year it is disappointing again. I love how the calendar looks like.
Most stuff can't worth 4.50 cause of how much money they spent on the designs, packaging and marketing. Maybe shipping as well. And they're still supposed to generate some revenue. I don't think they can afford putting something more expensive than these trinkets. I think this might work more or less if there's way less envelopes. Like 12 instead of 24. Otherwise it's just impossible to balance the packaging and a decent content because since it's just stationary, it's generally not expensive and you can only ask for so much money
@@ji7635 I did not think anything was worth $4.50. The packaging is amazing but definitely not worth that high price.
Thanks for this. You've saved me some money. There's a few things in there that I like, but most I would never use.
I am thankful I saw this, was going to buy it
The packaging is the most expensive part of this calendar, while the actual items look very cheap.
I like the personalisation aspect of this, but the contents are rather disappointing
I wish it had stickers, a planner, a wall calendar, anything that could be used for the new year.
The narrow sticky notes have less "stick" than the hearts because they are meant to be used in a book. You can put them right on the line you want to refer to and write a note. If the glue is too strong, you might tear the page. The hearts are more likely to be used on a mirror or fridge, so the glue needs to be stronger.
Lovely unboxing video. Thank you!
Ah, that's interesting ref the difference in stick. It would be useful if they put this kind of info on the card holder.
I definitely don't think the value is there for this box, but it's very very pretty and I love the theme! Cute stuff, but maybe at half price.
The trouble with all of these 3 calendars is that the manufacturers have spent too much of the budget on packaging- lots of foiling, die-cut shapes, hand assembly and so on. When you open everything up you value based on the contents and ot the wrapping so this one feels like a maximum of £30. Many of the items could be found in a 99p shop and thhe quality would be the same. The quality of the Papier box contents was definitely better and the outer case with the drawers could be repurposed b,ut all those odd-shaped little boxes are going in the bin sooner or later. I don't know how you balance it - if the items were just wrapped in pretty tissue it would look like a rather paltry haul, but they need to put more of the value into the stationery.
Bought a Wal-Mart dupe that is probably just as nice. $17. BEFORE I knew this brand existed. Thanks for the review.
I just noticed that they have what looks like the same thing. Saw one on Ebay cheaper too
I actually like the box the most 😄all items would be useful, but also I already have similar items, most of those, and I think most who buy this do. This would make a lovely gift for someone not yet into paper related hobbies, but who might be interested.
wow, for that price the items seem to be quite disappointing! 🤔 thank you so much for the unboxing, saved me money! 🧡
Thank you for this video. It was a bit of fun and I really liked your personality. I am looking forward to watching your other videos on your channel. ❤
I think I would have bought this one just for the packaging. All those little books looked so cute 😅
Love the look - individual books are lovely. But disappointed with a few of the ‘gifts’.
Would be a wonderful Xmas gift to sit on a desk.
I think this calendar makes a lovely gift as part of the experience is definitely how it looks. The packaging is gorgeous and could easily be re-used.
Wow wow wow. Loved it all. The boxes sitting on a desk would be beautiful.
I think I would buy this if I had plans to refill it myself for my niece with little trinkets.
Saved me $ and also min I saw Stephen King quote I was done. Merry Christmas
Not worth the cost, but presentation was lovely. Favorite was the honeycomb toadstool 🍄.
Cute theme, but it looks to me as you pay more for the packeching than the gifts, I mean paper book mark, 2 cards, and the 4 gift tags.. no to expensive for what you get
The color pallet is beautiful! Reminds me of a book I used to read to my daughter as a child "Annie and the Wild Animals".
Such lovely items and beautiful packaging. But, again, the cost feels unjustifiable. I don't want to spend £4.50 on a set of sticky notes no matter how pretty they are. Too many samey items too. They should spend less on packaging and presentation and focus on to the content instead. Gift tags in one door, ribbon for the gift tags in a separate door? That's essentially £9 for 3 gift tags!
Disappointing for a curated box. You really tried to be kind but I imagine these companies have bills and staff to pay and it seems we are being asked to be charity donors now, rather than clients and paying customers. Not worth the price unless the customized box was at least made of wood and I could use it to store keepsakes. I would have paid for a good box. Thanks so much for sharing.
For that price, insulting
Really love the packaging, especially the outer box. I got excited for the succeeding boxes after you opened Day One. The unboxing of the 2021 MB advent calendar that I've watched before yours only has a plain colored pen. So having the daisies as design is a nice update. However, as you unbox the remaining items, I think that they're not worth the price. I understand that the conceptualization and design process should be considered in costing. But seeing previous ACs, contents are a bit redundant every year. Colors, shapes, and/or sizes change but they're basically the same inclusions.
Thanks for this review! I have high hopes for this one because kits were sold out pretty quick. And the product photoshoots totally captured the enchanted forest theme
I’m a little underwhelmed by this calendar. The best thing about it is the packaging.
When you are dividing the price, you're not including the price of the box set itself (which is re-usable and would look lovely on a bookshelf). I think that's the nicest packaging I have seen on an advent calendar. The contents did feel a little bit lacking though. I still liked it, but the decorations were kinda lame, especially the star. I think if you reused the box you could write a love note (to your partner or child) and add it to each box. Especially if your kid went off to college or something like that. It would be awesome for them to open a box each day and have a special letter inside, and you could find stationary they would love to add to it and make your own advent calendar for them next year. Just a thought.
I agree. I think this calendar makes a lovely thoughtful gift, especially with the personalisation. And the packaging is gorgeous and has loads of re-use potential. I bought this a couple of years ago and still have the box. I think peaople buy calendars for lots of different reasons. This one I think falls into indulgent treat... it's not just about the end content. It's about the whole experience.
Not worth the money at all, I would be so disappointed.
I would agree with others; I like the packaging of the gifts, but the price point vs gifts was disappointing.
The boxes are beautiful but they are just cardstock. .
The long cards are bookmarks not gift tags. The ribbon is for the bookmarks.
That's why you had no wrapping paper as it's not a gift tag.
The boxes and packaging are stunning. The actual items look naff and not keeping within theme. They don’t match anything, it just seems like random stationary that someone has grabbed from a shelf in Tesco!
I Love the packaging
The packaging is beautiful. It's a shame sme of the contents don't quite hit the mark.
I wish the products had more embossing or something. I feel like the packaging has more thought and quality than some of the contents.
Thank you for brining these products.❤
Thank you for the review! Absolutely not even close to being worth the money. Packaging is beautiful, contents are beautiful, but 4 paperclips? Get real.
A shame you can’t buy the packaging and then add your own contents.
Packaging excellent. Can’t be bothered with contents.
I would turn the leather bookmark into another Christmas ornament.
I keep getting hounded by ads for this, honestly, not worth the price at all. It looks amazing but the content is not worth it. Thanks for the review :)
they are all fake accounts and fake copies. The Marta Brook Advent Calendar can only be bought direct from Martha Brook and this year, like all years, the calendar sold out
It looks really beautiful, but i think this is just one of those cases where you pay more for the artwork rather than its contents
I have really enjoyed these unboxings. This one made me a little sad because I have purchased this calendar for the last three years but this year I decided not to risk the disappointment again. They are always so beautifully designed and the boxes are such a good idea and I usually love their pens, sticky notes and pads. But, for my taste, I usually dislike anything up to 50% of the contents; I don't use or want note cards or wrapping materials. If I send a card I choose one for the person, I don't want a collection of random cards. My biggest problem with Martha Brook, though, is that I have an intense dislike of personalisation - and I realise I am in the minority here but I have never understood why they won't offer a 'plain' alternative. My past Christmas decorations hang from a book shelf: I stare at them wondering why something which will never leave my house, where I live alone, needs to have my name emblazoned on it 🤔. I think of the three you have unboxed, I liked the Cult Pens the most. If they have any left, I may indulge
To clarify, I just realized what I bought was a fake!!! And it had such crap inside. I'm so upset. People use their hard earned money to buy something and it's a scam! How unfortunate. And how unfortunate for this company.
oh, I'm so sorry to read this. You can only buy the Calendar from the Martha Brook Website and they always sell out during the pre-order phase. I have seen so many adverts from scam sites and I know that the Marrtha Brook team have been very active trying to shut them down
I've come to the conclusion that advent calendars should be bought for the packaging not the contents because more often than not the packaging is gorgeous and the contents are very cheap and disappointing. Thanks for spending your money so that we don't have to
Cute as hell, but very overpriced for what you actually 🤷🏻♀️
I mean if I had the money, and they hadn't put a fox and an owl on it, and it would say "happy holidays" instead of Christmas I'd buy it. The packaging is definitely the best thing about it and can be used for storage, which is nice. A lot of "filler" items like the post its are disappointing, as they don't even have a design on them to make them feel less "filler". The magnets of the mushroom can be taken out and put on the star bookmark to fix it I guess. Then the mushroom can be glued and used as fall decoration, though storing honeycomb decoration that can't be folded back is a pain. But the white stripe just makes it useless for anything but hanging it on a tree as it is now.
The resin star is absolutely useless and ugly. Some origami paper and some folding instructions would have been way better. Or letter paper. Stickers, stamps, something like that. The design of the calendar is clearly the selling factor, and the least the fillers should reflect that design
I jumped opened mine and man did I get scammed I even got 3 paper stars that are obviously pictures of your star decoration with your name on them as well
It's honestly shocking how many scam sites have set up selling fake copies. I feel so sorry for the real Martha who set up and runs Martha Brook. She's had such a stressful time trying to shut down all the scam sites and it's impacting her brand massively.
Is this a case of the box/packaging etc costing so much to produce that the contents are a little disappointing? Especially when the manufactured items like paper clips cost pence rather than pounds. Great video, really enjoyed watching thank you x
This is gorgeous
I bought one of these from what I thought was a legit site, not knowing who/what martha brook is, but it was clearly a knockoff site. My star came with 'Blue Bear Wood' written on it! And the personalisation is all BBW. Oh dear. Even the 'wax seals' are just printed. I'll keep the packaging and buy decent stationary bits to go in. Lesson learnt about quickly buying things on the run though!
Oh gosh. I'm so sorry to hear that. You can only get the Martha Brook Stationery Calendar from the Martha Brook website, and the calendar is always sold out. They have been tirelessly trying to have all the other scam sites taken down.
I ordered and the stuff in.mine was not to the same quality
Unfortunately you will have ordered a fake calendar from a scam site. You can only buy this calendar direct from the Martha Brook website and it always sells out during the pre-order phase.
It's so beautiful and so pointless! where should I put all these packages later? Instead of all this gold, 1 daily planner is better!
It is lovely and thanks for the video. I would not say 100+ pounds covers this in no way shape or form though.
The artwork on the actual stuff seems far lower effort than the stunning artwork on the box
Wow what a scam , well than you for doing this unboxing of this product
The contents are certainly pretty, but hugely over-priced. I would not pay more than £60-£65 for that.
The package is beautiful but not substantial.
For the money gifts could be better
A lot of these products are paper based which is super cheap to produce in bulk.If it had been around 35$ maybe but otherwise just not worth it. The set of boxes themselves are quite nice you could use them to store photos, if anyone still has physical pics, or maybe small drawings or watercolours or letters you treasure. I would not buy is. I liked the ruler….. early everything else was a disappointment.
The packaging is pretty, even though I think I'd be sending it back. What a rip off! Gladly she makes only 60 of them. I'm sorry for you.
These are so beautiful. I like the flower the most. I have those markers too, so I’m going to try it. Thank you for sharing. I do have a question though, where did you buy the turning table? It is so handy
I purchased one ☝️ but Martha says they don’t get them sent out until 27th October and when I asked Martha others already have their calendars did I do something wrong at checkout as mine says pre-order for 27th oct and Martha replied abruptly WHO HAS THEIR CALENDARS?? and said no one has them yet they are preorder, so how did you get yours? Just wondering as according to maths nobody has one they not sent yet….😊
Also kinda wish I hadn’t got one now seeing the contents, looks disappointing, was expecting more seeings as the calendar are over 100 pound, I suppose I was sucked in too like others because of the packaging (sales ploy) definitely seems mean for the price of it, I mean we should get real gold paper clips for this price. Impulse buy I suppose the packaging sucked me in but the contents, I mean the items look lonely in their boxes like there needs to be more to fill up the gap 😂😂😂😂that pen looks so lonely in that great big box, no pretty confetti either like autumn leaves or even just some tissue paper
This is a nice advent calendar. But people are complaining a bit much. The only advent calendars I have ever had were chocolate items. What everyone is forgetting is the economy worldwide right now. Until that gets fixed, people will never be satisfied. If you want better quality, maybe make one from scratch. Then, calculate the cost of supplies and your time. Puts it into prospective.
Mmm, i think the economy is part of what makes folks think twice about a few post cards or a sticky pad or a bookmark as ridiculous at the price.
I saw this on facebook reels and when I followed the link it showed the price as £25 reduced from £48!
That sounds like a scam link.
It is a scam link
It’s all really nice but a complete ripoff IMO
It is definitely not as nice as the actual packaging. I think Hubman and Chubgirl have a nicer one.
These items are either worth less than a dollar or are really just trash... buyer beware on this one... honeslt I feel like most of these go straight in the trash... not worth the energy to produce and ship...
I think the star with BBW on is a pencil topper
The packaging says bookmark.
I’ve seen this exact thing for as low as 17 dollars online.
Don't be tempted. You'll have seen scams and fake adverts. Martha Brook doesn't advertise their calendar. It can only be bought directly from them and it sells out during the pre-order stage
Me who just ordered this 😮
I am terrible at international conversions of money but I think 109 £ is $141.50 !?! I ordered TWO of these - one for me and one for a friend and they cost me a total of $35.13 (includes tax and shipping) ! That is for both of them not each. There is no personalization, and it will be Christmas before I can say if they are identical but the photos suggest they are. That means I can buy EIGHT of these for the same price you paid!?😢. I’d feel better if these were overstock and they were trying to get rid of them as a mark down but there are still lots of them available. Thank you for the video though.
Unfortunately, I think you may have bought them from a scam site.
@@BlueBearWood They are on Amazon and there is a “30 day refund/replacement” on this item to protect my purchase. I did not buy them from a site… or a link.
@@tanyaperrin1218 It will still be a scam/fake calendar. Martha Brook doesn't sell via anyone other outlet. There are lots of fake sites using Martha Brook imagery that has been stolen from their website.
@@BlueBearWood It is difficult to have discussions in this format without sounding argumentative but I promise you I am genuinely curious. I had never heard of your channel or this advent box before I made the purchase on Amazon. I mean no disrespect but I looked at the photos and thought the price matched the contents so was not seeing any red flags. I used to shop AliExpress (pre pandemic) but only shopped a handful of shops that did use original artwork. I stopped using the site bc it became near impossible to discern real from fake and there was a lot of controversy. I have to question here- since the vast majority of comments on this video are that the contents are very overpriced, and that as far as I can tell this was the case last year as well, perhaps the creator of this advent box is using a company that has not been honest with their contents and either over produced the number of items and then sold them “on the black market” so to speak (aka they weren’t really sold out) or they sold the “recipe” for the contents to others so they could recreate the same thing. Both are rather awful. I want to toss out a thought for your consideration though. IF I do receive the boxes and they are identical to the one you showed in your video (except for the personalization) is that still a scam in your opinion? I would think it is not a scam for me…because I wasn’t deprived of money and I received the products as promised. ( albeit a counterfeit version). BUT in my opinion, it is a scam for the company who in good faith created the product and hired them to manufacture a certain limited number of products in their name. THAT is a scam and truly a sad aspect of the world as we know it today. I also want to add that your video is the second one I’ve seen this year (the other was a diamond dots painting advent) where the actual price you paid, and the value of the contents where soooooo far apart that I can’t help but feel that either the company is shady or the ones hired to manufacture the boxes is shady because there is no way anyone would pay that much for the items and the lower quality of them. Interestingly, both unboxing videos are not here in the USA. It is my sincere hope that you will see all my comments on here as conversational- as if we were sitting across from each other talking over a cup of tea. We as consumers “vote” with our dollars and it is important (at least in my opinion) for us to try to be savvy shoppers where original artwork or creations are involved. I think we can only stay up to speed in this by bonding together and discussing how we can be more educated in the world of the aftermarkets and sales “from China.” I’ll let you know what arrives, if anything, and if it matches what you showed in your video. Thanks for your insight…I look forward to more videos on your channel.
@@tanyaperrin1218 i’m sorry, but she is correct. The only place you can buy this calendar is on the Martha Brook website and they are sold out. Yes, even Amazon had people trying to sell this. Martha Brook even put a notice on their Instagram, Facebook and their website saying how they had scammers taking their pictures and videos to try and sell their box. They have been working with police, Action fraud, etc. to get these fake ads taken down on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and yes, even Amazon.
Very disapointing, thank you for unbonxing
So not worth the price at all! Beautiful design - I love the woodland style. But for the price overall, it should be a good bit cheaper.
The packaging is beautiful but what an absolutely abysmal price:value the items are. Four paper-clips for four pounds fifty? Shameful.
What a dreadful rip-off. The price is ridiculous for what amounts to a few bits of paper.
that's a re-branded 25 bucks china calendar
Beautiful but very overpriced.
I just realized I bought a fake copy😭
Packing looks amazing but inside stuffs are boring and doesn't worth 109£.
will there be a giveaway with this
Beautiful yes but nowhere near value for money. It’s highway robbery.
I can't believe i bought this. It's horrible.
I suspect you bought a fake calendar from a scam site.
All you have done is complain about the calendar 😊
I think you may need to rewatch it. 😊
I though of buying it, I won't after this video. Not my style at all. The packaging is cute but it stops here.
That’s the most over packaged thing I ever seen
Thank goodness I didn’t buy it!
Cute sturr not great value.
Very expensive and so bad for the environment.
The presentation is really nice, but the price point and the items you get don't really make it worth it :(
I saw a few adverts for this calendar and thought you didn’t get much, only half way through your video and I have to say I’m really disappointed with it, for the price you are just getting a load of titbits, there’s lots of very very cheap products, nothing amazing so far, and the production is not very good either, scratched up corners, holes not punched on the book marks properly, I would be really disappointed to get this for half the price, let alone full pricebut I think the biggest disappointment in this is the fact all the envelopes/boxes are the same design, it would have been far better to have a plain envelope with a less complicated design on, but they all be different, so taking elements of the main design and splitting it between the 24 boxes,, for me, it’s just very lazy packaging, if they had all been different then at least it takes some disappointment off the products inside and the corner book mark, unusable and the paper tree dec, with the cheap white card, you can get better in any poundshop,, a huge disappointment.
Oh my, this is truly bad. 😡
Lots of money for pretty package, and few items. 👎 I'd rather use the money on things that I can use.
these are such a waste of money.
Not if you like stationery and Martha Brook styling.
I feel like she’s not the illustrator of the drawings, because if she’s the illustrator- you can make a lot of drawings for each items.. it wasn’t creative after all
Nope,not worth it
You lose me with a useless dark blue unmarkable calendar and bookmarks
Wait why was it so expensive?? Walmart sells it here for like $20USD 🫣
If that's true they are selling counterfeit goods
@ just went back and looked at it again, seems it is indeed someone selling a counterfeit through Walmart using the pictures of this advent calendar but not putting the name in the title/description.
