My daughters and I are currently building a slot car track together. As we come from a long line of proud Texans, we took the time to come up with Texas-themed names for all of our turns. The two main straights are named after Carroll Shelby and A. J. Foyt. Except for tire sponsors and the like, all of our track sponsors are also Texas based companies.
This part of the project was surprisingly engaging for my girls and it turned the project away from just crafting and made it into a history lesson for the girls. I found out just how little my girls are learning in their history classes, and I got to introduce them to some neat places and historical events along the way.
Having named curves makes it far easier for my daughters to follow races on TV, but it’s downright invaluable on a slot car track. They struggle with remembering turn numbers, but when you name them it just sticks. The same is true for adult race fans, we just don’t realize it.

But after seeing this, I promptly re-installed RTB and continued where I left off (I quickly ended up starting from scratch) But now I have 2 tracks under my belt, plus another 2 in the works, and yes theres the RTB stigma, but I've had remarkable amounts of good feedback. Hearing comments of peoples memories of one of the old, permanently closed tracks I built is really heartwarming, and makes me love the racing community further.

I always loved the idea of a racetrack which was certified for Formula 1, IndyCar, NASCAR, and NHRA drag racing. Unfortunately it ran very few events in the short decade it was open. We're so blessed to have these opportunities. I do like the idea to put the track up on RD so we can see how it evolves. And I have no doubt somebody could probably do an amazing job of improving it. BUT it's YOUR track. You and only you can decide the flow and where to put things like the grand stands. Personally I'd try to reduce the circuit vibe and focus on the airport vibe. Smaller stands, more simplistic might add to it. And the whole width of the runway should be visible but perhaps by adding lines or guardrails split it in a narrower section for driving might help. Also add more bushes trees and stuff will help. And then hand it over to a professional for a touch up. And let's do a race sometime. I'd be honored if you could drop me an invite 😎🏁

That race track builder looks like Bobs Track Builder from ages back that was never "finished" ?
Well done getting something together, nice job.

I can’t reiterate enough how many times I’ve been rewatching multiple of your videos, so it was quite a relief to see a new one uploaded recently. Loved it of course and can’t wait for next (two) week’s video.

I've been messing with that program for months and noticed you were doing things i didn't even know existed in that program! Really inspired me to go back and finish the 30+ tracks i already started on. I got a bad habit of getting them roughly as far as you did, then moving on to a new project. Never really got around to getting the bumps and terrain just right. If you ever figure out how to add water such as ponds, lakes, or rivers please let me know 🙏 that is the number one thing holding me up on atleast half of my projects, as i originally assumed it wouldn't be hard to figure out and built them all with that assumption. 😪

Epic achievement unlocked! Who knows how many people have some concept "my neighborhood" racetrack rattling around in their brain - I know I do, but may never find the time to actually realize it. Good on you for making it happen.
Also, brilliant car choice btw. One of my absolute faves. Though you should try the non-GT4 variant for some proper heel-toe track fun 😊😎

Well done, sir. You have the talent, tools and patience I lack.
I await the announcement that you have secured private funding to break ground on the racetrack.
The above sentence I hope you know is my tongue and cheek humor.

Ahh i remember going to blackbushe market on cold Sunday mornings.
People used to to go their all the way from the south coast back in the day the market was that good.
I wonder if they still race go-karts still there.

Man, this is awesome. Great work! Any way you'd be able to race against the AI on your track? I imagine you'd have to somehow program the AI to even work.

Yeah AI need to be trained to follow the racing line. It takes like 3 months usually but sometimes u get lucky and get it in 2 or extremely unlucky and get it in 4+. Depends on if the AI want to be nice

You speak through all video with passion and smile and i share that feelings. If F1 (or F2) want something new im sure this is perfect location for new track. It was really fun to watch all this. I can imagine this track in real life. Im always open to any knd of ideas. This was idea for Assetto Corsa, but it can be implemented in real life location. Why not to use old airfield and tracks around it to build something useful to motorsport and community.
Great track, to be honest 👏👍

I used to drop cars into Blackbushe. So I've stood on your racetrack. Very cool to see a place I've been turned into a racetrack. One criticism of the video; I'd have liked to have seen a lap of the finished track from the drivers viewpoint. We never got to see your finished track in all its glory.

There’s a potential layout here in Easton, Pa that I’ve come to be aware of over the years that I think would be pretty amazing if I could do it enough justice. There’d be three long straights, plenty of sweepers, left and right, several hairpins or near hairpins, one of them murderous, and lots and lots of elevation changes. The scenery could be awesome, too, running from countryside to neighborhoods and back, with two rivers thrown in for good measure. I’ve pondered it idly for a long time, tweaking it in my mind, and this video makes me think I just might be able to do it, after all. Certainly I’ve got enough time on my hands these days.

Don't call using tools cheating. It doesn't matter what tools you use, the end result is what counts.
If some purist insists on doing it the slow and tedious way, that's their decision and their time.
It would also be totally valid to use the Race Track Builder as a starting point and refining it from there with other more powerful software.

Never heard of this before and just looked it up. The 1922 version looks even better. Might even be better than the famous Pescara circuit as I can imagine Livorno would have more elevation changes
