Hey Kevin!! We took apart tens of new Kratons and Outcasts recently! They are mostly super glued. God bless anyone taking off the hex hubs/driveshafts!! But I worked it out. For the hex hubs, you need to burn it a lot from where you take the screw out, then you need pliers and have some cloth between that and the hub to not destroy the painting on the hub. You need loads of 🔥 before give it a go. Then for the driveshafts, you need to just put them in the fridge for 30min and the bearings comes off easy, otherwise you destroy your hands! We pee’d enough against the wind so you dont have to. Also, the 4s cars need a chassis brace. The motor, esc, metal diffs make it so heavy, the chassis breaks easy!! Our customers are killing us for Kraton chassis because its out of stock everywhere! Anyway, got loads experience in wrenching the 4S line, hit us up if you need help! Love you Kev! You re inspiring ❤ edit. To get the motor in, you have to have the tires on and keep pushing pulling the car back and forth while you re pulling the motor in and it will eventually click
If you had to pick your first joint RC for light bashing what would it be? I’m leaning towards the Maxx V2, I don’t see them break as much as the Arrmas. Thanks!
@@DJKadilac right now Id pick the blue Outcast v2 from modelsport because its only £409 as of now. The other reason I would go for it is beause it just comes with too much goodies compared to what you get in this price range: 4s esc 2400kv motor S652 18kg torque servo Full metal diff x2 Metal spur Upgraded driveshafts Upgraded turnbuckles+rod enda Upgraded suspension arms Super thick, strong shocks Upgraded c, steering and rear hubs. And then if you want to keep it light, run it on 3S
Hey Kev to get the Arrma motor to align easily you next to roll the car back and forward with the wheels on while pushing the motor in at the same time, you will hear a click and all done. Took me ages to work that out too 👍
I know it's going to be insane when Kevin and Mad Max play together. The bash brothers! We need Stempy in there again. The 3 Amigos will be complete carnage!😂
I expect, after a year, Kevin will become the first in the world in the rc hobby. He shoots movies with all his heart, laughs, teaches, breaks, mends, and gives everything he owns to his friends who are with him. You really revived the hobby again throughout the world.
That Typhon went to the moon! The Outcast 4S V2 is one of my absolute favorite trucks. Last time out, and my first skate park run I cracked the chassis in half as well. Not looking forward to that job.
I did it! I drove 3hrs total and paid full price to buy in person my first big wheel truck😅 -Kraton 4s v2.5 in awesome highlighter green with a whole lot of upgrades just because🤑✅️
Turn the red part we’re the center drive shaft hooks to the spline, about a half a turn, motor module then will slide back in easy as pie,, I feel your pain mate,, before I figured it out,, I threw mine in the trash as well,,, lol,, love your videos and love the RC Hobby,, cheers Kevin,,😎✌️
Been waiting for this one. The Outcast is definitely on my shortlist. Thanks Kev! Edit: Key to keeping the chassis in tact is the M2C bar; loads of people have had their chassis' split the exact same way.
@@waffles6498 it still might be worth it, as it will save you from buying a 30 euro brittle chassis every time you do a bad landing. Razor R/C has had to buy five of the plastic chassis now, and so far the only thing that breaks religiously on these rigs. Since putting on the M2C bar, he's had zero problems. One purchase of 150 versus endless 30 quid buys, I know which I'd rather do.
Best way to reseat motor module I've found: - Makes sure the slots the mount slides in to are SUPER clean (especially corners) - silicon spray - replace rear wheels - push mount onto tabs and move car back and forth on the wheels as needed to seat driveshaft
As the repairguy/tech at the local hobby store, these break chassis. Customers ask why I parted with mine, it’s because I was still on my original chassis and didn’t want to push my luck 😂 but seriously, I’m tired of doing work repairs for the snapped chassis, they haunt me in my dreams, I come home and I don’t even wanna work on my own stuff anymore. So get the 6S versions of these and save yourself the time and hassle. Edit: The motor/trans installation is literally the last thing I do besides the driveshaft and wiring. I even put the wheels on the rear, and I rock it back and forth. This moves the diff input splines into alignment with the splines off the slipper and spur assembly. I have to clean out the trapezoidal channels first with a brush, then with air. And then even after all that effort, probably 30% I still use a hammer. It’s not an effective design.
We need some Haynes manuals for these RCs made by people that have been worked on them. Kind of like how they did it with the full size car manuals with all of the tips and tricks that they learned. It would probably help save some of that headache sometimes.
These two RC cars are my favorite models.. but if I have to choose one, I will choose Kraton.. Kraton is my favorite RC car in my life, but unfortunately I can't afford it now..😅Because I just bought a local domestic car here,😅so I don't have money to buy it..🥰I hope I can own it one day, 4s is enough for me.. I also wish you good health and career success...💪Come on...im come from malaysia...also welcome to malaysia play too...
Omg traxxas beat Arrma on another KT vid 😮mind… blown 🤯 Lol just joshin ya, I am a bit of an Arrma fankunt but Kev…is just universally lovable, could probably steel my life savings and I’d still watch these! 👍 🇨🇦
💥💥Hey Kevin and hey guys! I don't understand a word in the videos and the subtitles are way too fast but hell I love the videos with the RC cars and hell I had to laugh a little at the outcast because only one person can do it. But crazy that a basher gives up so quickly. Keep it up Kevin. Greetings from Germany!💥💥
I have v1 and it's a blast. I had to put the center bearing in myself and can be a pain but with patience, not bad. However getting the motor/transmission out was even worse but going back together was not hard. I put a piece of wood under the back of the chassis to push down and slide the assembly in with lube
Awesome video as always and love the honesty of your reviews it was also a pleasure to meet you and the others at West Suffolk drift on Saturday and I hope you had a good time with us👍🏻
I've also had problems with the motor going back in on my Granite 3s, I've found that if you put a little bit of grease on the ridges that hold the motor in place, it is easier to put back in.
Oh I had that exact same difficulty getting the wheels off the first time. Crazy tight wheels nuts and even when I got them off the wheel was stuck on there solid. Also I had the same problem getting the power module back in on this one which hasn't been a problem on my 3s cars. Good to know it's not just me 😁
Our Sketer was a nightmare until a hair dryer on the plastic rim cause it to expand and off she came as easy as that.. No need to pull that hard risking damage to your arms etc..
Sir kevin really love watching you with those toys, its just sad here in my country its so expensive to purchase one, my sons would love one of those.. You take care sir, God bless sir!!
there's 2 little tabs on the bottom of the power module that line up and slide under the rear bulkhead. It's easy to do when the rear wheels are on and you just roll the truck back and the module will slide and lock in place.
If you like jumps, wheelies and backflips, get the outcast. If you've got the need for speed, get the kraton. The kraton is significantly faster on a track, but is almost "too" stable for bashing. The outcast definitely requires more driver skill, but it adds to the fun. If the 6s notorious (same as outcast) is still on sale for $450, it's a better deal than the 4s outcast. Out of the 20 or so different RCs I have, the notorious is in my top 3, along with my xmaxx and maxx v2.
Always awesome bashing and great fun never bring Max if you want to take it easy only bring him if you want to have maximum fun! 😀 Thanks for posting these are some great little trucks and we love them
Nice vid Kev! I also have the arrma outcast and I had the same problems but after a while it gets easier to work on, and its now my favourite rc! The only issue I have now is that the slipper keeps coming loose (I also broke a part on the slipper) I fixed the problem with some loctite and now its the best rc that I own! (My appinion)
Always loved that body on the rustler. I wanted to get one like it for mine but I was a kid and didn't have enough money for it. Now I don't have enough money for an RC car 😂😅
These are literally the easiest platform to work on 😅 it helps to have the rear wheels on and spin them slightly when sliding the motor/transmission module into place
