- Taking a look at an old, abandoned pub in outback NSW on my way to work. I hope you enjoy this quick walk around of the pub and also the nearby sports ground. Please look at my other videos and hit the subscribe button. Thanks for watching
Would love to of seen the Pub in its glory days . 👍🤠
Definitely, I love these old places and it saddens me that we are losing places like this to “progress”
There's nothing so lonesome, morbid or drear than to stand in the bar of a pub with no beer.
Slim.
Great vid loved it Thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Like your interpretation on ewes rams and wethers ....lol
Ha ha….
8:03 now thats some old original roofing iron, take a lot of work & $$$$ to bring this back to life 😊🇦🇺
Sure is, I really hope they do fix it up as the rumours say.
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide absolutely I'm hoping also, lot of history out there, be awesome to see it revamped, as Id even visit the joint, someone say joint 🤫🤣🤣🤣🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺😎👍
I was there in the 90's I think it was , cool joint
Awesome video and production, sad but cool nice work, looking forward to seeing more👊😊 Cheers 🍺🍻KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺😎👍
Thanks for watching, glad you are enjoying them.
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide always stay safe out there 🍺🍻🍺🍻🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺😎👍👊
I love watching your videos. Takes you back to an older and simpler way of life. Do you know when it was abandoned?
Thanks, I’m glad you like them. I’m not sure when it closed up but I believe it was in the 90’s
Great video. What a top spot. Ol’ Slim would be proud of you mate! Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Thank you, now that’s a compliment. Cheers
The place had everything 😊
Had much chance to work on the XG mate , thanks for the walk around
Yeah I’ll do a van update in a couple of weeks when home again, it got numberplates last week 👍🏻
I was with a couple of blokes hunting in that area and we drove past this pub in the early 1990's. What struck me was the phone box there in the middle of nowhere. There was a minibus/van stopped there and about 7 blokes standing around, all with shaved heads. Thought they were some outback cult or some weird shit, maybe cancer sufferers on a holiday? They gave us weird grins. We picked up a solitary woman hitch-hiker on that road, in her late fifties or so..all alone in that bloody place! It was June so it wasn't scorching hot. The woman was hitch-hiking all over the country it seems. Told us she'd just show a bit of leg to truckies for a lift.
Yep, strange things happen out bush at times. Cool story and don’t doubt it. Thanks for watching.
Pint of 4 X, burger n chips thanks🤠
Ha ha might be waiting a while.
Sometimes i just wish being homeless if i found something like this i could just move in no questions asked lol. Hi new sub
Yes would a cool spot to call home, thanks for watching 👍🏻
Cool place👍 whenever you are near Junee it will be good if you can do a tour of "monte cristo" Australia's most haunted house?
That I will definitely do, I know the owner as he bought some bits off me for the museum they are opening up on the property. A private night tour video is definitely on bucket list.
Love your commentary, it is what it is, no hyping things up. Especially love the old barn finds! If you find any old VW's and save them, you will be my friend forever. 👍
Glad you enjoy the vids, a few years ago before I started filming anything I saved a 1955 double barn door windowless Kombi van. It has since been semi restored and current owner has it on the road again.
Would you believe that they’re doing up the hotel not long put the tanks in and fixed the roof so can’t wait to see how it ends up
Hopefully it happens, I did hear that a couple of years ago but nothing was happening. Time will tell I suppose. Fingers crossed.
Seriously.??
Just seen Hatfield on the roof and had to watch my uncle used to drink there back when he owned Alenvale station just back towards Balranald and I used to go out to Hatfield when Robin Burmeister used to own it wow brings back memories for me and lost a tear to well done I just had to subscribe and looking forward to seeing more of your content cheers Amos 👍🍻🇦🇺
Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed it and that’s a great story, I’m currently working on boree plains station. As soon as I get a chance to do some editing I have another vid on a nearby property.
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide looking forward it 👍🍻
4:38 😂😂😂 brilliant
😉 just telling how this country boy sees it. Thanks for watching.
Do you think it was abandoned recently as you look at the guttering and down pipes look pretty recent
It is quite a shame but as the older farming communities give up and leave then these places go away as well
Good one Dave 👍👍
Within last 20 years or so , some roofing repairs and as you say the Dow pipes and a couple of poly tanks are recent upgrades. Hopefully it all gets restored at some point in time. Glad you enjoyed it
Those posts around the verandahs might have been mulga or widgee. The bark never comes off and the posts last a lifetime. One of the few timbers not eaten by Aussie white ants!
Interesting to know, thanks for watching.
Shame that nobody turned it into a home 🏠 an kept it maintained 😥.
Yes just another wasted part of history it seems 🤷🏼♂️
My old 1970 Valiant had a lyasight emblem on the bonnet when I stripped it for painting.. we don’t make nothing no more..😢
Yes, it’s definitely a shame we don’t manufacture anymore, quite disgusting really.
Watch for brown snakes 🐍. 🙀
Was definitely stepping carefully
Looks like someone was looking for something around Fire place area, methodologically cutting into the walls, then, opposite side, ish, in bedroom removing the whole wall section. Id say, they found it, otherwise all the walls would of been damaged..
Yes it certainly looks like there may have been some hidden treasure around that fireplace. Had me wondering that’s for sure. Thanks for watching.
👍🏻💯🇦🇺
You gave me a laugh with your ewes and rams.
Glad you enjoyed the vid , thanks for watching ✌🏻
very interesting location as there doesn't seem to be any significantly populated areas within a 130k radius of it, Mildura just being outside of that. Maybe a stop for truckies mid journey and needing a meal, beer and bed.
I’d say it was from when the traffic between balranald and Ivanhoe was a bit more prolific, as well as back when the stations nearby employed a lot of people.
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide ahh that makes sense.
Galvanized bur everywhere
OPEN THE FRIDGES
Should’ve ✌🏻
Pub would have been buzzing in its day what part of the country is this troopy?
It sure would’ve , it’s near mungo national park in nsw, east of mildura.
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide thanks troop
Where you headed mate ,, oh and the van ,, how’s that going?
On way to work at a nsw minesite, doing a 2:1 roster for a while so not much traveling in immediate future. The van got numberplates last week, will do an update on that in a few weeks.
I’ve just been on google maps and have a look the building looks like it’s falling down
Someone has done a lot of work on the building to fix the roof and structure and gutters
And the name on the roof was Bailey visible in the google maps picture
Maybe someone is trying save it
Yeah there’s definitely been some work done in last couple of years , I really hope they do save it
