Love your outback Australia adventures my wife and I dream of this when we retire!!
Just us and our dogs and the open road!!

Thank you, this kind of comment makes it well worth the time in filming and editing these vids. You will love the traveling when get to being able to do it.
Thank house with the rock on the floor ,nowadays is called crazy paving , very popular around the 1950s & 60s, hey another great Vlog, ❤️🦘🦘🦘
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
The wind noise , mate we can deal with that , your efforts are brilliant at showing us around this big brown land
Thanks, I do have a foam cover to combat the wind but a lot of the time forget to fit it. One day I’ll buy a proper mic
Clipping the apex on a go-cart track in a Troopy with a road train in the background. Iconic shot!
Ha ha definitely not an every day scene that’s for sure 😂
Haha you delve into my memory. The Big Jim torch went on to the top of the 6v battery’s, I used to sell them, best you could get.
Hopefully those are good memories, thanks for watching. 👍🏻
In the store the glass bottle with no base just round. Was a fire water bottle. Handing from the cycling with rope. Thank you. ..... wish you spend time with your family ) old mate. Ps i never exsplored when was there ausdrill. ( and laverton. ( and kal. But i smile i remmber all that old gear from time gone. Thank you. )))
Glad you enjoyed it, great to bring back memories of older times . That was my first Time in Leonora in 20 years, spent two hours at a cafe/coffee shop talking to the lady that owns/operates it. Was great.
Really great video mate loved the history with it as i know what its like to live rough and still had an old pan toilet out back as a kid in the 70s with no lights and bloody redbacks waiting to bite me bum Thankyou for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Mate I recon your vides run rings around any of the history channels Documentaries , Keep up the grate work and all the best in the new year . Cheers . 👍🤠
Thanks , I just try to show places I go and share what info I can. So glad you enjoy them. Cheers
I worked in and around leonora in the late 80's it was a great town to be at, White house, central and the camps were party all day and night. Great country to explore, some beautiful places out there. I was a serviceman at SOG, Morgans and a few others... Night shift was sometimes miserable, but the people were awesome and made the place!
I hope it brought good memories, it definitely was a great town. A friends dad owned the white house in the 80’s, he drove a rolls Royce and held a funeral for his last keg of Hannans larger. Plenty of characters in the area, i worked at harbour lights, tarmoola then later on at sog as part of my field service route for the generators.
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide sure did bring back some good memories. Ive a mate who still lives in Gwalia. Ahh King of the Hills became Tarmoola, I worked out at Bannockburn when it first opened, for AWP (All Ways Pissed) Contractors.
Reckon I’ve an unopened tin of Hannons somewhere, never was any chop even compared to Emu’s green death or red peril, thanks for the vid mate. Happy new year to you wherever you end up.
The track it self looks good enough to do a few laps with a set of knowlbeles on the go kart🤠
You could definitely be using the track again within a few hours, I’d go drag a piece of railway track followed by an old gate behind it and you’d have it levelled out again in no time.
Ya can tell how tough the folks in the gold fields were way back then,if the baby cot needed cyclone fencing mesh around it to keep em put !😂
Ha ha I reckon so…
That was very nice, Thanks Bloke
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice one, mate.
Agree, quality stairs you'd be hard pressed finding nowadays and if you did, you'd be paying a few bob for them..
Great video. cheers mate!!
Thanks
Awesome job again mate,, love this stuff . Thanks for your efforts and sharing. Much appreciated always.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks
19:50 we had similar washers on Barrow Island in the late 80s. OD&E drilling camp
Awesome, like a lot of basic machines they were built to last . I’ve only ever seen one similar style used . Thanks for watching
@@ablokeinatroopyaustraliawide they washed pretty well.
Thanks for the vids mate. Takes me back. My 1st job in 86 was at Tuetonic bore mine. Between Leonora and Lienster. Had a ball as a 15 yr old in a township. It shut not long after so I was back to Perth for a bit till I went on the rigs.
That old amphora tapered to the top egg shaped terracotta vessels is interesting old ancient tech that kept olive oils & wines & water etc fresh without preservatives due to it's shape which created smooth circulating convection currents/temps inside that did't allow things to stagnate . . similar to why eggs are egg shaped
Yes that’s an old way of things being done. One day I hope to go film an old winery site that still has all the old underground clay tanks there. It’s near where I grew up and we used to get good Yabbie’s from the dam there.
My mum was a winter from Scone NSW lived opposite the primary school born in 1926 to Frederick an Vera Winter
@@brianandglendaharkin9457 I am & we family are Finns , that came over 69 when I two . . Winter I think comes from the Hartz mountains Germany & then all over
@@brianandglendaharkin9457 There is an statue , or was . . of an Finn general named Winter in the town of Pori north west Finland . . Swede Russia fights old caper
How’s life?! amigo, bravo!breahttaking channel! ;))
Glad you’re enjoying it , thanks for watching
You should tell the people in the town with that big brick building to put a security cameras even if fake , might stop the vandalism a little or alot
Yes would be nice if it would stop vandalism.
Big g'day mate , merry Christmas too,, now isn't such a shame people feel that they have smash every Window and what ever else they can break they do, yeah once I did that shot too ,, but it was when I was 10 years old and the cars were in the rubbish tip, yeah I feel bad too cos all those Holden's variants fords are were big big bucks now and almost impossible to find quality original parts ,, and rare spares just isn't the same
Merry Christmas, definitely a shame and it takes a bit of growing up to realise things shouldn’t be smashed for fun. Thanks for watching
Merry Christmas mate, thanks for the great work. Would love to live out there ,Melbourne shits me to tears. These dickheads keep jamming too many people in with no infrastructure.
Yeah I agree, big cities aren’t for me either. Thanks for watching
looks like a preserved site
The area is looked after by nearby mine site I believe
👍🏻💯🇦🇺
Merry Christmas all
Thank you and I hope you have had and are having a good one. Thanks for watching
Trouble with those old Dodge Bonnet s they leaked water 💦 down on your spark plugs on the Flat Head Six .
Yep, but they looked cool as hell…. Thanks for watching
