Hi Enjoyed your video i just wanted to point out something you said when you were driving around some dried bed lakes whatever you chose to call them Anyway you said there is nothing to winch off if you get stuck and i have herd many people say that BUT i would like to point out there is always something to winch off anywhere in the journeys and we all Carrie it with us on our 4x4 and that is a spare wheel, what you do is dig a hole deep enough for the tier and you put the winch on the tier and try to bury it standing up and then cover it with the dirt that will get you out of anything try it works i did this years ago and others have followed my idea and thank me . Enjoy your travels Mate.
Not bad except it is Canning Stock ROOT….
Drone shots are always good! They were well done…. Great storm video…
@@billcrowle Sheesh! There are different pronunciations of "route" all over the world. The word "route" is not exclusively Australian.
Thanks for sharing this epic film, hope to do that before I get to old, beautiful country and great drone shots, cheers from rick in Australia 🇦🇺
I have seen so many videos of the Canning and this is, in my humble opinion, the best one. Amazing shots, not too long, not too short, great information and facts. Remarkable job mate
Wow, thank you!
I wish that I had recorded my travels around Oz, when I began touring as a folksinger in 1995 . First run was from Perth to Uluru across the desert, my old kombi went everywhere. went 8 times round over 10 years, beautiful memories.
Been down it 6 times now. Very addictive and consuming. Always something extra to see every time.
Well done on the journey.👍
The furthest inland I've ever gone off main highways in Australia is only about a thousand miles and couldn't believe the incredible drop in temperature when the sun goes down. It's like the sun takes the heat with it, it pulls the heat along with a light breeze away with it. Then suddenly, you're shivering, or at least I was when that breeze stopped.
Wow! What a great adventure. And I’m so grateful to have been along for the ride! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely stunning production. Good to see how well the gladiator performed in "land cruiser country". Your videos really make one want to pack the vehicle and head on out there. I don't know when, but one day we'll take our gladiator across the CSR.
Your footage of this incredible place is amazing. Thankyou for putting this together for us. We're heading out there later this year, been planning for a while now. The Spicey Cough held us back, but we have lift off this year. Thanks again.
Feels surreal to watch a place so devoid of life...me coming from the most populated country, it sure is a weird feeling to look at such an isolated area
I always wanted to watch the Australian Outback and was looking for some videos since a long time, tried many but couldn't go till the end, but honestly this one was so great, the shots, narration, everything was on point...i watched the entire video in one sitting(wasn't able to do so with others)
You gained a new subscriber today lol...Cheers Mate, can't wait to explore rest of your videos
Thanks for the feedback, that is awesome to hear!
@@TheRoadChoseMe didn't expect a reply on a 10 month old video haha, thought you'd never see it
I'm happy that you replied
What an incredible adventure. Thanks for filming it and producing this vid. I really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant video. Strong, clear narrative. Lovely images. Great editing. No gimmicks. Bags of passion and enthusiasm.
IMHO, the best CSR video my miles!
Much appreciated, make sure you subscribe to see all my other videos!
Congrats on tackling the pinnacle of 4 wheel driving. Beautiful drone footage and good commentary.
Thank you! 👍
What a video!!! Some absolutely incredible footage of the best state in the world - from a biased West Australian
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love how there’s no one else out there. So awesome!
You make it seem so scary that i am hiding under my computer desk.
This is one of the best vlog I have found on Canning Stock route. Brilliant job guys.
By far the best vision of the CSR I have ever seen. The shots of the creek running into Lake Disappointment are stunning. Congratulations.
Thank you very much!
When we went camping in the Utah desert, we would take sponge baths using a small basin of water. Afterwards, we always felt very refreshed as if we just had a shower! I think it's a good idea to conserve water in the desert! But I'm probably preaching to the choir here! Excellent portrayal of the Australian desert (our is it steppe, here in Utah we'd call it desert).
What an adventure!
Enjoyed the little history lessons of the territory as well.
Fantastic! Impressed in the trust you have in your vehicle! Well done completing this adventure, great your father could also get in on it. Keep up the exciting over landing : )
Australia is a very huge place it's amazing love it 😊and thanks 4 showing us 💯👍
The Canning is no joke. It takes balls to do it with all the equipment in ideal weather. To do it as late as you guy did, in a Jeep? That takes genuine courage. I can't believe you guys did it in a Jeep, alone.
I drove right around Africa in a Jeep! 87,000kms through 35 countries. Congo, Sudan, Mali and all the rest.
I also drove a Jeep from Alaska to Argentina....
@@TheRoadChoseMe That is seriously impressive. Which Jeep? And how modified was it?
Alaska to Argentina with a little 2 door Wrangler. Bone Stock. not a single breakdown.
Africa was a 4 door JK Wrangler. Lots of mods for living systems, never a single breakdown.
Tons of videos on all my adventures here
The storms they get up north are something to watch.
Good video.
This was absolutely incredible! I just can't believe the views and how remote it is!!! Absolutely amazed man! I appreciate the documentation! Appreciate what you do Dan!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mate, magnificent. Simply magnificent. I'll come back and comment again but right now, I'll just say awesome. ❤
Fantastic video! Stunning scenery, thank you for sharing. Sat here in the U.K. and I enjoyed watching every minute!
Thanks!
Utterly amazing video on your adventure. It’s so professional with the drone shots, the still camera shots of your moving vehicle. All done by one person. Jaw dropping stuff. Thanks.
Thanks so much!
Just an awesome trip! Amazing scenery. I had doubts about the reliability of Jeeps until I started following your channel. It's good to see how well the JT diid.
A superb adventure. Thanks for bringing us along! Happy your Gladiator never let you down. So far ours has been very dependable as well. Cheers!
I have waited on this for months! I'm so excited!
Very well done Dan. This is the best coverage of the CSR out there. Your use of the drone shows all the terrain and what it's really like out there way better than anyone else has done. The narration is superb as you explain the track changes, flora and fauna facts as we watch the fantastic filming job you have done. Thanks so much for sharing. PS, I'm only a quarter into the video as I made this comment.
Thanks so much Malcolm!
@@TheRoadChoseMe😂😂THE most remote road 😂😂 are you serious?? You never been in Gabon, Cameron, Uganda, Brasil, Philippines, Uzbekistán, Kirguistán etc THERE YOU WILL LEARN WHAT IS A TRUE OFF-ROAD AND WHAT IS JUST BS!!
I read comments from a RUclips keyboard warrior who was saying the canning was a cakewalk and over rated…
He had obviously never driven it !
I did it way back in 1997
Would love to do it again but fear I’m too old !
Definitely challenging but oh so fantastic
Great to see you have done it in the Jeep
People underestimate just how difficult it is just to get there yet alone how long it is
Took us 21 days back then
With a fuel drop at well 26…
Some days we struggled for 9 to 10 hrs a day and only achieved 100 to 120 km a day !
Really remote but so stunningly beautiful !
Great vid guys
Thanks for the great memories
Particularly Derba Springs
It’s heaven on earth !
We did the Canning, not as difficult as the East to West crossing of the Simpson.
Only went into low range once on a dry river crossing which had a steep bank. Was just in normal city drive for 99.9% of the Canning north to south crossing in a Toyota Prado. Just deflate your tyres. We were in a party six vehicles, no one had any problems.
Need to carry fuel or have long range tanks. Fortunately my Prado has a 180 litre (over 48 US gallons) tank as standard. There are a couple of refuelling places on the CSR.
So pleased to have been able to accompany you, see the amazing CR and how you live the life of an overlander.
I really will never forget this one as long as I live. Utterly incredible, and I can't believe we really did it - and together! Dream trip completed, and a dream to show you the adventures! oxox
Magnificent scenery and camera work. May Australia remain big and desolate because this is beautiful and natural and can you imagine cities and towns being built there filling that clean air with pollution and crime? 26 million people is enough and any more you'll have stress on resources.
Congratulations! One of the best if not the best Canning videos I have seen. Glad you did it. This one is still on my bucket list.
Wow, thank you!
SO awesome that you got to do that with your Dad, as an Aussie living in the United States it was hard to get back and see my family as often as I would like. Unfortunately, my Dad passed during Covid put things to a grinding holt to my life. Didn't get to say my goodbyes to him. Spending time with loved ones is one of those things we all take for granted, too busy, too far away, etc.Glad you got the memories. On a positive note, As usual Greg, it really shows how much effort you put into these videos, Great story telling and videography. Cheers, Wes
Oh Wes, I'm really sorry to hear that man.
I cried and shat myself at the same time reading your story Wesley...truly heroic you are im really proud of you x. I recently started shitting myself I'm not sure why, Once I was in the supermarket getting some tomatoes and yesterday I was doing a puzzle with my neighbour and it went all over her couch she cried and asked me to leave.. Anyway I know your pain my brother I love you so much xoxo
Incredible! What a adventure Dan.
Yep this was epic for sure, been on way worse roads & in worse conditions by myself in very remote locations. Did an out & back job by road that was from Alice Springs through remote places on the SA Border to the WA border & then return to Alice Springs. Non stop. 23 straight hours. What I've seen with my own eye's can never be replaced. Enjoyed this, Cheers!
Cheers. It sure is a stunningly beautiful country
This was absolutely overwhelmingly beautiful….ever since I was a kid my mind and spirit felt connected to the red and wide Australian Outback desert country…as an American I want to thank you for taking me along the most remote and most beautiful road in the world….new subscriber! 🦘🇦🇺💛💚
Welcome aboard!
Watching from Scotland and just cant comprehend how vast that trail is. Seems to go on forever. Very impressed with your jeep. Excellent drone skills as well.
Thanks 👍

Great Vid and lovely work
Professional quality video. Amazing adventure and with your Dad
Thanks 👍
Fantastic filming of the track. I've done it three times, and now I want to do it again. I bet it's impassable now though after the cyclone in Northern WA.
Epic adventure! Thanks for sharing Dan
You bet!
Thanks Dan! Awesome! Regards from Africa.
Glad you're back in action! Thanks so much for sharing your adventures!
More to come!
Great job. Congrats
A trail I really wish I could do Keep up the great work on the videos. 😎👍
Thanks ever so much. From, Leeds. 14. UK. Subscribed.
This is f’kin legendary 😊😅❤I’m so glad I found your channel blue 👍✌️
You should mention that you can bury the spare wheel which becomes the winch anchor point. Thanks for The CSR by drone. Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Like fresh powder snow in the mountains, going over those dunes where all the previous tracks had been blown over must've been awesome. Like you're the first person to ever visit that location.
That is *exactly* what it felt like, and Canadian Katie kept saying how much driving in deep sand was like driving in deep snow.
@@TheRoadChoseMe I did a crossing of the Simpson Desert really early in the season last year. We had quite a few dunes with windswept tops and no visible tracks. Every one of them was pretty special.
Looks like the CSR is on the to do list now. 😀
If you do the canning, go either really late in the season like I did, or really early. It's busy mid-season now.
Very informative. Thanks
Wowwww amazing i love all your videos amazing I’m happy to see long drive with your dad, I miss my dad. I’m new in your Chanel. Greetings from Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤❤❤❤
That's a very impressive effort doing it alone and in November.

You are very welcome!
Love this video.
Sitting back in my recliner and watching on a 50" TV.
The colours, definition are absolutely amazing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant coverage … well filmed and shared … thanks for the (vicarious) experience 👍🏼✊🏼👌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thankyou for such a wonderful production. I'm planning to do this in May after crossing the Simpson. It was great viewing thanks again
Glad you enjoyed it David, all the best on your trip. It was similar to the Simpson, but much, MUCH more varied terrain and landscapes.
Thanks Heaps bud. Plus some great Drone footage.
Mate that was an amazing video. I absolutely loved it. Brilliant. Incredible. Well done, and thank you so much for sharing your adventure.
That's awesome to hear, thanks for letting me know!

You total legend Dan! What a trip and what a video. So inspiring. I’ll do it next year. Can’t wait to watch your next adventures. Where will they be?
Amazing adventure. Superb video.
If I'm ever out in Australia and have access to a decent 4x4 I know one track I'll be doing.
I've seen several Canning Stock Route blog-type videos ... But, yours is the absolute very best! Extremely well done, loved every minute. If you ever get to Las Vegas .... hit me up!
Oh wow, thanks very much!
Fingers crossed I'll be in Vegas for SEMA this year

What an unbelievable trip. Awesome images.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Some of your best work yet. Inspiring content!
Wow, thanks!
The Canning is a great trip, did it a couple of years ago south to north. Hoping to do it again north to south before much longer.
Been a while since your last vid. Im excited for this one. Im glad you got to get into the interior a bit more. Hope the transition back to CA has been good. Look forward to seeing some more updates soon.
Lots of big updates coming - new vehicle is well underway!
Outstanding! Side note....really enjoyed the musical score.
Glad you liked it!
