What are your thoughts on the Barbour study Bible? It doesn't have any of the textual corruptions you list on your website so it appears to be legitimate. Would love to see you review it.

We have not reviewed this bible in person as of yet but have sold several and it seems to be a good bible:

We will consider doing a review on it in the future. Blessings.

The Illustrated Bible from Barbour is actually Out of Print and no longer available:
      www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-study-bible-illustrated-edition-barbour.html
We sell the KJV Holman Study Bible, which is definitely full-color and has some illustrated features, here:
      www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-holman-study-bible.html
The KJV Chronological Life Application Study Bible is here:
      www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/chronological/kjv-chronological-life-application-study-bible.html
It appears only the Hardcover edition is available at this time. We will try to request a sample copy and do a review on this bible assuming it remains in print from Tyndale. Blessings.

Is it still the most comprehensive KJV study Bible?

    • @TheKJVStore
      @TheKJVStore  5 лет назад

The problem with any such claim by a bible publisher is that it's not really quantifiable. It's an unproven use of a superlative term. We believe there are many comprehensive KJV Study Bibles, and many that have more information and features than this Zondervan edition. Much better selling KJV Study Bibles include the Scofield, Thompson, Ryrie, Dake, Nelson, and Holman, all of which can be found on our KJV Study Bibles page here:
      www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-bibles/study-bibles.html
But the Zondervan KJV Study Bible is still a good one, as shown in our video. Blessings.

We already answered this on your other comment. We recommend all of them and cannot recommend one over the other. It's up to the individual choice and opinion of the purchaser...www.thekjvstore.com/f-a-q/#study-bibles
"It is important to know that we try not to recommend any study bible over the other, but to let the customer decide for themselves. This is because we do not necessarily endorse ANY man’s commentary, but rather, we only endorse the actual Scripture text of the King James Bible itself. All commentary should be read very carefully and critically."

I have a question. John 17:1 says These words spake Jesus, and lift up his eyes to heaven. All other KJVs say lifted up his eyes. The only other KJV that says lift is strangely enough a 1611 facsimile also put out by Zondervan. Is this a Zondervan "thing" or what? Thanks for any help....otherwise I'm very happy with this one.

+Glenn Heim Hello Glenn, that's an excellent question and point you bring up. We did check several KJV Bibles and sure enough, the majority of them say "lifted" while the original 1611 definitely says "lift": “These words spake Iesus, and lift vp his eyes to heauen, and said, Father, the houre is come, glorifie thy Sonne, that thy Sonne also may glorifie thee.”
Typically, you can't go wrong by sticking with the original 1611. What that must mean is that either Cambridge in 1762 or Oxford in 1769 felt that "lifted" was more suitable. To me, the words are definitely interchangeable and don't seem to alter the meaning at all. Whether Jesus lift or lifted his eyes to heaven, we know he was definitely "looking up" toward heaven and the Father. If we ever find anything else regarding this passage, we will definitely comment again. Blessings.

We do not sell or endorse the NKJV so we would not be able to do any comparison of the two. We only sell and recommend the KJV Holman Study Bible (never the NKJV which has unnecessary word changes and is not as accurate as the original KJV).
