Thank you very much for pointing this out to us. I’ve been reading my NIV I’ve had since 1992, and I had the urge to just buy a KJV and see what the difference was. Now I know.
Thank you sir. God bless you and may He keep you safe.

Pastor Steve. First and foremost i thank you for your content. I must tell you of my daily ritual as it entails both the KJV and the NIV.
My mind is at peace in the early morning hours. I have a genuine serenity all about me. It’s during these morning hours that i truly enjoy the KJV. I dive in and really fall head over heels in love with the Word.
After work, in the evening, i found i haven’t the ability to focus completely (4 kids and a lovely wife) on the KJV the way i do in the morning hours. Until i opened a NIV.
Now, mind you, what ever i read in the NIV at night, i reread in the KJV in the morning.
And the difference is insane. Im often disappointed in the NIV. Where its easy to understand and an absolute quick as can be read, it’s missing something the KJV possess without a doubt.
The command of my full undivided attention.
The NIV has never demanded that of me.
But the KJV accepts nothing but 100% focus.
I will continue to use both (The KJV being my foundation).
I wanted to share my process in order to help others that may be unaware of juggling possibilities.
Thanks for your time, Pastor Steve, and God Bless🙏

Might I suggest the simplified KJV ( SKJV.) I was watching this and all those verses are almost identical in the SKJV just more modern English. The hardback has the better pages and I keep hoping they come out with a high quality version of the SKJV as it seems to have great reviews and feedback.

Also check out the third testament spirit of truth I hope to hear more people conversate and debat it but as far as can tell it's scriptural and the knowledge of it has been proven based of my experience the only thing is that I can't find much research about it so I'm hoping to see videos of research. Plus based on my research god seems to be calling an Era every 2000 years and has been releasing a book around every Era. In around 2000bc he released the old testament around 400ad he released 2nd testament and about 1900 he released the third testament spirit of truth. I know things are done in cycles to. I have several translations that i have collected over the years. I started off with the KJV being from a fundamentalist background, and I never read it. Because of that, I went on to study Wicca, which my parents abhorred. When I went off to college I went to a church that used the NLT, so I went to the bookstore and bought an NLT bible and I read that thing so much that it was falling apart by the end of my college life. Over the four years I was away, I knew more about doctrine than my parents who have been attending church for over 40 years. I have moved on to different translations like the CSB, ESV, and I recently got a KJV bible that I am going to start reading to see if I was ever really missing anything that I have so faithfully learned from with my old NLT that I read so faithfully. I will be truly surprised if there is anything that I will get from the KJV that I didn't get from reading the NLT Life Application Study Bible.

Studying what scholars say about the different manuscripts (and seeing for yourself if you can access them and read Greek) will clear up most if not all of these discrepancies. Older manuscripts don't have these passages and most scholars I've read from believe these passages were added to in later manuscripts such as the later part of Mt.19:9, rather than taken out, especially when they appear in other places such as the 11 words in question which are found in Mt.5:32. Many versions will also include a footnote on these passages to inform the reader of the textual differences. No Bible version is perfect, each translation is an interpretation of what the translators felt was the best English rendering based on the texts used.

I have been reading the NIV Bible since 2006 and many people say it's the devil's Bible because it's missing scripture, the reason why the NIV Bible is missing scripture because of the manuscript that they found for the NIV did not have those scriptures that the KJV has, and that goes for all the new modern Bibles NIV, NLT, ESV too, but these all are on my favorite translations of the bible. But another thing is the thing about the KJV Bible is that it uses words over 400 years ago that we do not use anymore, we do not talk that way with Ye, thy, thee, and I know some pastors and also some Christians would not touch the KJV because we do not talk that way today. And a lot of them have turned to the NIV.

God has truly blessed me with the NIV. It is translated from older more accurate manuscripts than the KJV. Therefore it does not have all those added uninspired verses that are in the KJV. No mistranslations like Easter instead of Passover. Also in English we can understand, rather than the archaic English of the KJV. Where so many words have changed meaning, making it even more inaccurate. As I said God has truly blessed me with the NIV. What the teachers of this man made tradition called KJV onlyism, is irrelevant. It is what God says that matters. Nowhere is there a scripture that supports the KJV only teaching none at all. So KJV onlyism should be rejected for the heresy it is.

The KJV Bible is a superb English translation. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." As the Bible says "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." (1 Cor. 14.33). If your still not convinced, read Psalm 23 in the KJV compared to the other so-called improved Bibles, and it sounds more beautiful in KJV.

One big problem with modern Bible translations is found in Luke 24:47. In that scripture the KJV reads "and that repentance AND remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem." The modern translations change the word AND into FOR. That is a problem because repentance and remission of sins is two separate events. Repentance takes care of the lifestyle and remission of sins takes care of the record. The new translations are saying by that scripture that repentance is for the remission of sins which is not correct. Hence, (KJV) Matthew 26:28, Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, 22:16.

Good video as usual 👍. I never have liked the NIV. It just doesn't speak to me in a way that makes me want to dig deeper and read for hours. I'm not KJV only and don't condemn others for reading different translations. So, if others are spoken to and will read the NIV and grow spiritualy, then bless them. I've tried to read many other versions but I have always preferred the KJV. My second favorite is the NASB.

Thank you. This was an eye opener. I have several Bible translations, including Parallel Bibles and I followed along with your examples. Was surprised that the ESV took all these passages out! However, the NKJV included all the deleted passages you cited, exactly following the KJV,and did not include the one passage that you noted had been erroneously added. Are there other reasons why you reject the NKJV? I understand that it is the same scripture only language has been updated but nothing has been taken out.

It claims to not be like the modern versions and to be accurate to the KJV but with removing the thees and thouests etc. They changed some words that aren’t used anymore and substituted it with an easy to understand synonym. And other words that might be hard, they underline them and define them within the text. They list ALL changes in the front of the Bible. Just curious.

The KJV has been changed several times over the many different versions of it, we certainly don't have the original KJV. 1 John 5:7 for example wasn't in the first 2 editions of the TR. Also things like there's 3 different Greek words in MT.24 alone that are all translated as world in the KJV, where other versions clear up things like this, along with improving on words from back then that have a completely different meaning today. I read the entire New Testament verse by verse in the KJV & NIV and noted the differences and I'd recommend the NIV over the KJV due to the ease of reading, clarity, the correction of words not used today like back then, especially for younger people and newer Christians. The NKJV does clear up most of these issues as does the other modern translations. The KJV is a great version but there's much to be gleaned by being open to other versions and textual criticism.

You are not sinning for reading the NIV, which God has blessed to bring many to Christ. Also my go to Bible. Would not trust anything from Chicktracts or Chick publications. Full of conspiracy theories, and totally caught up in the heretical KJV only cult. As for David Cloud, he would not correct or support any corrections to the KJV. Despite the terrible mistranslation of Easter instead of Passover. Or calling the Holy Spirit an "it" four times denying his deity. Something the more accurate modern translations correct. But David Cloud blindly follows the mistakes in the KJV. Using Latin words like Lucifer borrowed from the Latin Vulgate showing the Catholic influence on the KJV. A Latin word for the planet Venus, or morning star.. Even the KJV had day star in the margin. The KJV is far from perfect, the KJV translators knew it was not perfect. They said that even the meanest translation is the word of God. But the KJV only cult like Chicktracts think they know better.

@@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa Okay so what makes you think the only valid biblical manuscript is the textus receptus? There’s been many manuscripts much much older than the textus receptus found since 1611. Also translation skills are far superior to what they were over 400 years ago so how could the translation be less accurate? Not to mention how minor most of these differences are in terms of actual meaning. Your second example was an absolute reach it has that story in both Matthew and Luke in like it’s the same as the kjv while in Matthew it’s different. This can be attributed to the many discrepancies in details between Matthew ,Mark ,Luke ,and John. If anything wouldn’t it be discrediting Christ to say ““And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”
‭‭How is the niv discrediting Jesus as god when the kjv differentiates god from Jesus? My overall point is; Every version of the Bible is good as long as it’s understood and mostly accurate. Who are you to say which is better than another? How do you know they didn’t add things for their own benefit in the kjv? It’s proven in history the crown and the church were filled with scandalous behavior even back then. You said early in the video about some people not having the whole Bible maybe they only have one book. Well would it not be better to read the NIV than to not read it at all?

To not forgive your enemies being missing: the manuscripts they had used for the NIV also had missed those pieces, which is why some of them aren't there. KJV enthusiast who studied the NIV also came to realize that, but blame NIV translators for not fixing it. See that little "e" by verse 36. I encourage you to go look that up in the translation notes. you might get some good explanation. Perhaps LORD there instead of Jesus Christ or Jehovah is used to reference JESUS. Since it is a trinity. Do you not believe Jesus is LORD? It never claims he isn't in the NIV translation. And is backed up by other NIV doctrine of the deity nature of Jesus Christ.

    • @samlawrence2695

NIV far stronger on the deity of Christ and the Holy Spirit than the KJV. Also does not have the added uninspired verses that were not part of inspired scripture that is in the KJV. Also in English we can understand unlike the archaic English of the KJV where so many words have changed meaning. Also translated from older superior manuscripts, unlike the KJV translated from later manuscripts dedicated to the Pope. No wonder Satan has raised up the KJV only cult.

Your comment was 3 months ago...but in case you haven't looked into it since, I figure I'd respond. 😁
500 years ago, one of the widely used and available bibles (or maybe the only available?) in England was written in Latin because the source material was in Latin. This meant that only those educated in reading Latin had direct access to the bible. The everyday people in England who weren't so educated wanted to read it for themselves instead of a bishop or priest or whatever dictating to them what it says. In response, some guy (Erasmus?) worked on a translation which became the first edition KJV. Depending on who is telling you the history, Erasmus either translated from Latin to the KJV English so well that the KJV first edition is considered the perfect unadulterated Word of God....or Erasmus screwed up a lot in his first edition work and thus the reason for 2nd, 3rd, 4th editions of KJV shortly after.
What has happened since then is that other source materials were found (often pieces or 'manuscripts', or whole texts, or whole books). The result of those findings is a refining of the KJV and its passages. The different versions and their editions (NIV, ESV, NASB, etc) were born generally for the same reason the KJV was born: because people need a version that they can understand. Many people struggle to read KJV today because of the language format, and so NKJV now exists. KJV has its beauty for what it is, but if a person is not willing to spend the time to learn that old English, they end up getting stuck on just trying to comprehend a sentence and often never getting to the concept of the context.
Beyond version differences, the next hurdle is how the source material should be understood, which then affects how the translation should be read. In the simplest way to explain, certain versions (like KJV) translate its source material in a literal sense to prevent adulteration and perversion. Certain versions (like NIV) translate its source material in a more thought-for-thought sense...that is to say, the concept and essence of the passage is what is most important to capture, not the literal translation of the text.

@@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa The KJV/NIV controversy isn't about questioning the Deity of Christ. I wrote a paper with 100 proofs for the Deity of Christ using the NIV. It's STRONG on the Deity of Christ. Romans 9:5 is proof enough that the NIV makes the decision to state the Deity of Christ in a passage that could go either way. (btw, so did the Geneva Bible, so I don't know why the KJV took the weaker translation on Rom 9:5) Bottom line is that you're flat out wrong about the NIV diminishing the Deity of Christ.
This is what the KJV/NIC controversy is really about:
Do you believe the Bible has been edited? by scribes, Rabbis, etc? Of course you do. Moses wrote Deuteronomy, yet it includes the account of his death. Obviously, it was edited and finished by someone after his death. The same for many other books. The Psalms were arranged, same for Proverbs. Luke writes about how he researched and carefully compiled his writings. All of this is the editing process of any well-written book.
The KJV/NIV controversy is about whether you want more or less editing in your NT Greek sources.
The KJV folks love the Word of God they way they first learned it. The TR includes a ton of additional notes added to the text, places where "he" was changed to "Jesus", "Jesus" changed to "Jesus Christ", details from Matthew copied into Mark to add to the story, the end of Mark cleaned up, etc. The TR includes the Johannine Comma. We have enough Greek manuscripts now to track the changes. The KJV folks like the fuller reading with all the little changes and additions. They learned the Bible with all those little edits in the poetic KJV and they like it. The edits don't alter the meaning anywhere, and we know that God has used editing in the past (e.g. Deut above). That's ok. It's good to want the fullest, most traditional reading.
The modern translation folks love the Word of God so they want to get as close as they can to the original autographs. They like the USB Greek. They bristle at the possibility of any additions or edits. If the best evidence shows that the Johannine Comma originated in a Catholic Vulgate scribe's notes in the 7th Century then it's out. It's not about removing any words form SCripture, it's about keeping any words that weren't in the original out. They get rid of the tares and keep only the purest wheat. And that's ok too. It's good to desire purity.
What *ISN'T* OK is folks on either side attacking the other side - tearing down the body of Christ and making Christianity look stupid in the process. Stop it.

I have however read and compared scripture between the nlt, kjv, and niv. All three explain perfectly that Jesus is the messiah, Jesus is the son of god born of the virgin Mary, salvation is a gift not earned but freely given if you truly accept it! All teach that a relationship with christ is the key, not a relationship with your church (building/congregation) or your bible. I dont type this to argue or to cause dissension. Only to point out that all of the tranliterations prove that christ is the messiah! It's not which book you study from. It's where your heart is. Here is the thing..If I said to you that you are not bright enough to read the Shakespeare as it is written in archaic language and so I will dumb it down for you..so I change some of the words, take words out add words in , take whole stanzas out that I do not agree with , change Shakespeare words and meaning.. now are you still reading Shakespeare.? NIV Genesis..21So God created the great creatures of the sea ..KJV 21And God created great whales... So did that change make it easier to read for you.. they needed to change the bible by 30% to get a copyright..so whales become giant sea creatures, and the firmament becomes a vault.. and so and so on.. My bible is the most important possession in my life but it has to be the Bible, the book thousands upon thousand of people died so it could reach my hands.. No one ever died to bring you the NIV..I am telling you this because no one told me, ministers preached from those books.. and they do not care..even with all the people now saying you can not believe in the bible as they all say different things, they are robbing others of faith with their greed..or ignorance ..I want Gods Pure word not a watered down copy. I am king James only and I am not a trinitarian, however... the Bible does not say Jesus Christ is in a "sonship" in other words the God is not (acting) as his own son... God was not pretending to pray to him self (the Son of God prayed to his Father) -because Jesus Christ was born a man (God has no mother and was never born) and the Holy Ghost (Spirit of God) his Father was inside of Jesus Christ (the new temple or tabernacle) the mediator of the new covenant.... Jesus Christ inherited the title God because all of the fullness of the Godhead (deity) dwells in him and he is one with his Father. Just to clarify once again; God was not born and has no mother and God did not die. The man Christ Jesus was born and had a mother and he died.

Plus based on my research god seems to be calling an Era every 2000 years and has been releasing a book around every Era. In around 2000bc he released the old testament around 400ad he released 2nd testament and about 1900 he released the third testament spirit of truth. I know things are done in cycles to. And I know people miss out on understanding and seeing his miracles because they aren't truly following him that's what happens to the people who knew about Jesus but weren't truly following the made the mistake of crucifying him.....

Those words were not removed. They were added. The NIV is the most vilified version ever. There’s even a book calling it a new age version! All this nit picking is ridiculous. And only coming from KJV onlyist. Why don’t you go after a Chinese bible or any bible not written in English. The underground Chinese churches with very limited Chinese bibles is growing at a faster rate than the US, not only China but many heavily persecuted churches around the world who don’t speak English. This makes KJV totally irrelevant. You can criticize the NIV all you can and your only audience is fellow KJV onlyist.

Go read Mark 13 I believe it’s 32 in the king James version that says the sun doesn’t know this is why you were also incorrect on your thought process that Jesus is god Jesus is not God he is the son of God and that’s why he doesn’t know and even the king James version says he doesn’t know you need to study just a little bit more…

I find it funny when people start arguing about which version of the Bible is correct. Literally no version of the Bible is correct. They are all loose and faulty translations of the original Hebrew and Greek texts. The Hebrew and Greek languages have words and verbs with tenses that simply do not exist in the English language, so any English Bible is automatically invalid.
Not only that, but even the Greek and Hebrew Bibles have been SEVERELY edited and absolutely gutted to fit Church doctrine. Don't quote me on the number here, but I think it was at least 45 books that were completely taken out of the collection of books that were the "Bible". From the lost Gospel of Thomas to the Book of Enoch to Gospel of Judas. So, every single current version of the "Bible" is wrong.

Pls provide us with Greek and Hebrew versions of the scriptures let us compare with the KJV.
KJv still remains least corrupt version for this Christian age.
      May God bless King James.

@@henryodimegwu7898 There is no comparison to be made. Both the Greek and Hebrew languages have words and verbs and tenses that don't EXIST in the English language, so there is no way to translate those verbs and tenses correctly. It's impossible.

      @@RespiteofChampions where are the texts.?
Any word that has a meaning can be translated.
And besides the Latin Bible was dutifully translated and compiled by the church from the older scriptures for its use.
The older English versions are as perfect as they could be...

@@henryodimegwu7898 Key words: "As perfect as they could be" and "compiled by the church". The church took the old texts and translated them as loosely as they could, completely redacting hundreds of books and even some sections of existing books to sew their own narrative to get people on their side and stay in power. Creating this whole narrative of "the fear of God" and "if you sin you go to Hell to burn for eternity" to put fear in people and get them in line.
